She communicates the silly things cbs made her do to be more folksy and acceptable to the masses CBS called the great unwashed. It hurt her show and was in insult to her standard . She was a legend and if left on her own would’ve fared much better . She agreed in hopes that the show would please cbs and make a living . Screwed again and she soldiered on best she could . She was funny .

THE MORONS WHO WORKED FOR CBS, MADE THE STUPID MISTAKE OF PUTTING HER SHOW AGAINST BONANZA. THE PARENTS WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP BONANZA TO WATCH JUDY, BUT, THE KIDS WOULDN'T. SO ALL THE IDIOTS AT C.B.S. HAD TO DO WAS MOVE HER, DAH. THIS WAS THE SAME NETWORK THAT DIDN'T WANT JUDY TO SING THE BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC TO HONOR HER VERY GOOD FRIEND PRESIDENT KENNEDY WHO WAS ASSASSINATED JUST A FEW DAYS EARLIER. THEY SAID NO, BUT, SHE DID IT ANYWAY. AND SHE GOT AN OVATION THAT RANG THROUGH THE HALLS OF C.B.S. FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE HOURS. AND THE HEAD MUCKY MUCKS .DIDN'T WANT HER TO DO IT. IT WAS TO POLITICAL, THOSE MORONS. THAT WAS ONE OF TV GREATEST MOMENTS. CBS SHOULD HAVE LET JUDY BE JUDY.

@@jamespfitz I'm guessing something SHOUTED IN CAPS was here, but removed. That said, you are right, CBS had contempt for its audience. The #1 show of that season was The Beverly Hillbillies, so the executives weren't exactly wrong. You can see a drastic change in her appearance after George Schlatter stopped producing her show as "a series of specials" and the new folksy-regular gal Judy shows took over.

Richard Dean, i've already said this to you, but, let me repeat myself. Fans like you are disgusting. You would rather see Judy unhappy, and miserable, not laughing, and having silly fun. I have been a fan of Judy's since I was 8 yrs.old, and finding out about all of her difficulties was not easy for me to swallow. To this day I don't want to hear the bad stuff, I really enjoy SEEING AND HEARING HER SENSE OF HUMOR, and those who don't, I feel real sorry for you. Your type of person sounds like the type that loves to wallow in Judy's heartbreaking experiences. Me I love to wallow in her unbelievable talent. SHE TRULY WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE GREATEST TALENT ( singing=swing, boogie, jazz, torch, blues, patriotic, religious, silly songs and even Rock and Roll ). Rock and Roll was patterned after her style. She loved to have fun when she was performing, and her fans truly had fun with her. So stop being a snob and just let JUDY have some silly fun. She certainly earned it.
