- From February 2024 for a period of approximately two years, expect service changes and service reduction on Expo Line at Sapperton, Braid, Lougheed Town Centre, and Production Way-University SkyTrain stations. Learn more at translink.ca/skytrainexpansion
This new service pattern is a good choice but I can imagine the crowding at stations such as Sapperton & Braid for people looking for trains towards Production Way and Lougheed. Although a bus bridge would be a decent choice, it would either have to interfere with the Lougheed Highway (HWY 7) or the Trans-Canada like the 530 Langley-Lougheed express but the bus bridge would lessen crowding on platforms. Add some bus bridge services from Production Way to Braid via Lougheed Town Centre, it would be a reliever to the stressed passengers.
i love what you guys have done to your recent videos!
Will frequency on the expo line between waterfront and King George be increased to make up for what is essentially now a missing train from columbia to waterfront?
My understanding is that there won't be, because the "missing" train to Production Way is still going in that direction but only to Braid.
So as an example of peak hour service eastbound on the expo line:
Now would be: King George, King George, Production Way, King George, King George, Production Way...
Once this takes effect it will be: King George, King George, Production Way, King George, King George, Braid...
Not sure how it's going to work timing-wise with the short-turned Braid train but I imagine they'll have it figured out.
Millennium Line - VCC-Clark - Waterfront
Expo Line - King George - Waterfront
Expo Line - Langley Centre - Waterfront (some trips)
Evergreen Line - Production Way-University - Lafarge Lake-Douglas
Langley Line - Langley Centre - Waterfront
Langley Line - Langley Centre - King George (some trips)
what
What should I do to go to Columbia station. I live by Lake City way station the closest.
You can still go to Production Way and transfer to the Expo Line; however, the Expo trains from there will likely be every 12 minutes, so make sure you add that time to your commute. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Going to Lake City Way from Columbia will be as they described in this video. Make sure you’re on an Expo train that’s going as far as Lougheed or Production Way (add 12 minutes extra), and then do your usual transfer to the Millennium Line there.
Otherwise, an alternative (albeit not convenient) option is to take the 109 bus between Lougheed and Columbia Stn if the timing works out for you. It comes every 30 to 60 minutes depending on the day and time though🙃

Why can’t they just make the maintenance building first before focusing on the track instead of the other way around (from what I understand here)?
Tight scheduling with contractors, or engineering reasons, I'm assuming
The track changes need to be completed regardless, what's the difference if it's now or later?
Well said@@johnnylav - the maintenance facility needs to be connected to the tracks eventually... why wait?
Why the hell do it at the end
No new trains for King George, that's what I'm betting.
when it will be done we are gonna flying on cars
