I can imagine news stations across the world saying "For some reason, Herr Adolf has decided to strictly follow the treaty of Versailles despite being at war with half the world."
Hoping they don't get punished as hard when they lose
you can't judge a guy who obeyed the rules💀
The Allies be like how do we punish someone who followed the rules and still declared war
This is gonna confuse historians
"He was just an honorable man with ambitions!" - Göring probably.
"Blimey! The germans have attacked us!"
"Oh, so they actually obeyed the treaty of Versailles and their army is smaller than czech army? How polite of them."
*10 years of brutal war later* _end me please_
Depends on how you define brutal
You can make jet planes late game, pretty sure Versailles didn't ban it.
Feel free to correct me but didn’t it ban the Air Force out right
@@abokadohoi4 yeah, i dont think jet planes count tho
@@abokadohoi4 how are they gonna ban something thats not invented yet, i know im genius

"They've only got 100k men! How bad could this be?"
35 million casualties later

100k men at once. Without reserves things would be different
"we'll be home by christmas"
This enraged Adolf’s father who punished him severely

simple, just dont recognize other countries as countries.
@@user-ch1qv4qk4zit seems like free real estate to me, no idea what you are talking about
All I'm saying is The Versilles treaty said nothing about forcing puppets to make divisions and putting those on the front line and I'm pretty sure Indonesia would be pretty easy to get even with only 10 divisions.
Treaty says no aggression
@@RandomEmperorno aggression to Germany, if it's his puppets, it doesn't count...
@@alexmartins86 hmm, how to puppet?
@@RandomEmperor you see, Germany in this scenario would be "liberating" Indonesia from the dutch
You can definitely do rockets. The german rocket program was created as a way to abide by the Versailles treaty's banning of an airforce
7:31 I find it funny you manage to create Ensieg version of Germany in 1940 compared to the actual mod of Ensieg
Except Czechoslovakia and Austria just sat there chilling 😂
I love how your reactions show how funny and humiliating the treaty was to germans also great video
that's because it's never bad to humiliate a german, they know they always did something to deserve it...
They said no tanks, but they didn't say anything about obliterating the enemy with SPG's! I guess that's kinda cheesy tho
It actually says no armored vehicles or motorized vehicles with combat capabilities. No tanks is just a generalization. I read the treaty back to front lol
@@abokadohoi4 Ah, guess they were ahead of me
:(((@@abokadohoi4
have 10 motorized artillery divisions
@@abokadohoi4 So motorized divisions should be still fine, since its just trucks moving soldiers around.
Well, they said that YOUR army was restricted to 100k men. You could have killed the netherlands at the start and then just make indonesian divisions xD
You were actually accidentally correct with the number of divisions at the beginning. The Treaty laid out in detail how the German army would be composed. Article 160 dictated that the German Army would be composed of seven infantry and three cavalry divisions and the treaty elsewhere goes on to dictate exactly how those divisions would be structured.
You also can't "hire" any advisors or such as Subsection 3 of Article 160 proclaimed the Army General Staff disbanded and unable to be reformed.
You should use R56 where you can go democratic and renounce Versailles again .
who wants to go democratic in hoi4?

@@abokadohoi4Transport planes doe
@@NaeJae69you need to drop them out of Strat bombers
@@abokadohoi4 ik ik it was just a joke
did the treaty ban missle silos?
Nice video, but there are two points that i would like to point here
1 : The treaty of Versailles also limitted the caliber of the infantry guns to .38, but as hoi4 dont have small caliber guns this would be impossible to respect
2 : The treaty would limit normal motorized planes, but the governmeant of the time thinked that jets were a stupid thing that would never even exist, so you technly can use jet planes if you can
With regard to your second point, Articles 198-202 of the Treaty prohibited Germany from ever fielding an air force, and mandated the surrender of all aerial assets. Compliance with the treaty would prohibit Germany from ever fielding combat-capable aircraft regardless of propulsion method. All personnel were, pursuant to Article 199, to be demobilised. Compliance with the treaty therefore prohibits outright air force personnel, pilots and all, from ever being able to operate and maintain any such aircraft Germany were, hypothetically and in violation of the treaty, to possess.
@@grand-dadmiral Yeah i review it, and i saw my mistake, its prihibited germany from having an air force, but not from developing jets, i misurdestood it, thanks for ressalting that point
If there's one thing that will always be true of lawyers and politicians, it's that they know nothing about the things they regulate and ban. The caliber of a cartridge refers only to the width of the bullet it carries. If the treaty did not mention anything about grain, velocity, or bullet shape, then it is possible to field very effective long-range weapons that abide by it. For example, .30-06, 5.56x45, and 7.62x51 are all lethal cartridges that measure less than .38" diameter.
@@grand-dadmiral there is ACTUALLY a way... just stick your planes to the navy or to the army XD
as far as im aware there was no rule against armoured cars either
7:39 Germany and Russia (Soviets) Helped eachother many times, before and during war until 1941, so its not that cursed
This actually seems like a fun challenge
I can already think of an exploit for this and it's quite insane. Imagine you have 100,000 men, but all are special forces.
If I remember correctly Treaty of Versailles restricted Germany from building any fort
You forgot weapon restrictions. Pretty sure there was something about being allowed to own a certain amount of rifles... (hence why they named their main rifle a Carabine)
This made my eyes bleed. Brillinat
Even a communist? Wow
As you resisted, I think this only means one thing : the Treaty of Versailles was not enough
So when you get asked how harsh the treaty was just link them here lol
@@abokadohoi4 I definitely will lmao
9:58 How did Yunnan deal 1,7 million casulaties to USA?
My question too
Oh but thoose aren't tanks, thoose are tractors wink wink
I love your channel keep up the great stuff
If you actually see the ToV by yourself, its like pages long and it has restrictions on every type of gun and even how much ammo they could have
I'm quite sure you don't have to abide the treaty of Versaille's ruls even AFTER the war is started...
no, limits on how many men they had for example was allowed to be ignored in the event of war (but that would ignore the point of this challenge, no?)
@@AnxiousMrDnDTbh, I think the Treaty of Versailles had a "no invading France" clause
Very interesting idea 💡
Great video 👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
“The Treaty of Versailles stipulations are PERFECTLY balanced with absolutely no shortcomings” -Probably a certain tea loving Englishman.
Underrated small channel
He was an honest man, and a good friend.
Was honestly expecting recon and logistics planes! Gonna try this myself!
hey! you're not suppose to have more than *seven* infantry divisions, you broke the treaty!
Take a shot everytime he says "this is so dumb"
There are the limitations according to wikipedia.
No more than 100k men in the army.
Max 7 infantry divisions. (The treaty specified the makeup of the division, but wikipedia doesn't specify)
Max 3 cavalry divisions. (The treaty specified the makeup of the division, but wikipedia doesn't specify)
No general staff (unable to remove without modding)
Military schools limited to three, one school per arm. (Perhaps something with the academy spirits?)
No conscription.
No paramilitary forces.
Demilitarized Rhineland.
All fortifications within the Rhineland were to be demolished and none rebuilt.
Prohibited from the arms trade.
6 pre-dreadnaught battleships max not exceeding 10000 long tons. (Both the starting battleships and Deutchland Class cruisers fall in here I think)
6 light cruisers max not exceeding 6000 long tons.
12 destroyers max not exceeding 800 long tons.
12 torpedo boats max not exceeding 200 long tons. (not sure what the hoi4 conversion would be)
No submarines.
No more than 15k men in the navy.
No air force.
Bro's being held at gunpoint to laugh
Actually you could just take Paris, other than that it was a really good gameplay. Cheers!
I tried, even the AI isn’t dumb enough to lose to 4 divisions surprisingly 😂
,,you can't play a game wrong"
This guy: hold my beer
Wouldn't the simplest route be releasing states as puppets and using their troops as manpower as it does not breach the terms of the treaty?
Intresting video would love to see this but as luxembourg 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey! You aren't allowed to attack under the treaty either! JK great video.
Bro is doing gods work
Here we go with: what if the allies were competent in the pre war
(Edit: not during the war though)
The ending 🪦😭
Someone was Fuhrious
I'm pretty sure that aggression towards other countries and starting wars was also banned by the treaty of Versailles
You can use rockets im sure treaty of Versailles didn't ban it
Conquer the world as Liechtenstein while abiding by the Treaty of Versailles! :)
The unreasonable harshness of the Treaty of Versailles and the focus on punishing Germany for a war they had every right to fight, instead of say the Kingdom of Serbia for causing the war in the first place regardless of alliances, is what led to the Second War.
Not to mention the fact Germany basically had no say in the negotiation.....because it wasn't a negotiation, it was a demand.........................................I wonder if anyone has written a book bout what if Germany was given more fair treatment..........I wonder if I should bother writing that.
I don't know what drugs you are on if you think Serbia started it.

Very good...except the Treaty of Versailles banned the construction of new fortifications. They thought of everything :D
This reminds that sketch from Squire (hoi4 when germany doesn't start world war 2). And i love it. :D
Maybe you should have respected Versailles treaty only until WW2 begins. If the goal is to do respectful Germany RP, even in that case there is no point in respecting a peace treaty when the peace is gone isn't it? Spies and allies man. You could make a hardcore axis to do the fighting for you while you obey the treaty of versailles. I know, the rhineland decision requires most of it.. and some focuses require you to have large army directly so yeah i suppose maybe aint that easy
i nearly shit myself on that outro because i am wearing very loud headphones
Sorry, should have given warning that Mr mustache was so Fuhrious
The Entente in 1919: let’s piss off Germany, what could go wrong…
very cool, just got recommended

Technically germany already broke the treaty of versailles in 1936. They took the saar in 1935 so its an automatic loss.
The Saar was only to be occupied for 15 years
BROTHER THAT INTRO MMADE ME LAUGH
You should try it in road to 56, there's a focus where you can redo this treaty as democratic Germany. Who would do that? No one but someone has to try that
7:04 Bro gave them an idea
Didn't Versailles also ban artillery?
Hans, Bring 100000 Flamethrowers!
Make really thick motorised artillery divisions. And do encirclements
I don’t have the men for that sadly
You also cannot use weapons like the kar98k since it's name is kar98k just becouse The germans weren't allowed to have lots of rifles and only carbines, even though the Kar98k is the same lenght as The Gewehr 98
Nukes and Rockets are fair game
You are not allowed air force or tanks!

By that logic the railway artillery is also a vehicle capable of waging war. You could also use your puppets' forces as they are not bound by any articles. (Release Austria and the Czech Republic, you also have Slovakia and with the event you can get Denmark and Norway, +Vichy later on.)
@@minefoxc4015 read the actual treaty
@@abokadohoi4 ain't got much interest in it really, all i know is it fucked over Germany, put a collar and leash on them and made it easy for Hitler to take power.
Versailles treaty banned building forts on borders
Gonna guess early..... Special forces and rockets to the rescue!
Thank you, Mr Abolf Smitler
Wheeled vehicles are not tanks. That would have been a whole lot less painful if you had produced wheeled vehicles with cannons, AA, and flamethrowers. You could have given them dozer blades and maxed out armor with no trouble if you attached them to the infantry brigades, allowing you to keep your speed down to 4 kph and your reliability up.
There's also a whole bunch of shenanigans you could have pulled with spycraft.
Yes, but nuclear missiles are not a part of the treaty.
unfortunately nuclear missiles are not a resource in the unmodded game. Atomic bombs on the other hand...require an airforce to use.
@@devinwhite5064 Dang it. Is one single bomber allowed? I’m only asking because i’m interested in the challenge myself.
the average German soldier killed 410 people in ww2 each think of that 410 to one in this video
Pretty sure mechanized is the way to go.
I dont play this game but couldn't you win this easy with mass rocket sites and nukes?
Cant use nukes because those require a strat bomber and air superiority, and rocket sites(if im remember correctly) only damage buildings which doesnt do much
Respecting the Versai treaty is the new meta?
I always laugh when they say pp not Political Power
Play as Japan in Engsieg

You cannot declare war presumably.
But did the treaty actually ban NUCLEAR MISSLES?
what about mechanized infantry? I am sure it is allowed
you should have trained paratroopers, this way you could easily capturee france
Pain.
Nukes aren’t banned by the treaty of Versailles
Well, you did sort of break the treaty slightly right off the bat by having a navy with more than 15,000 personnel. Though, other than that you did well.
Could you potentially Anschluss Austria, but then release them as an independent state and pretend nothing happened, so you could go down further down the historical tree, and perhaps even make a alliance with the USSR.
you can only anschluss after remilitarizing the rhineland
too bad Germany broke the treaty before hoi4's start date
What about advanced heavy tractors and recreational gliders?

You know technically if you do the german civil war and win as the german uprisers then you can legally do that you can get airforce navy and lots of stuff that the treaty of Versailles didnt allow ao technically you can go democratic and you can do anything this is one of the times democracy is OP
Then why cant germany Produce Attack helicopthers or research how to produce them. [Dont forget Rockets and Ifvs]
