Maybe this has been said before, Jeff, but it would be great if you’d show these watches on a neutral surface (white or grey). The orange is making your camera do insane things to the colour balance… On my phone the dial looks purple. Congrats on a great pickup. I’m a former 6105 owner and this one is the re-issue that appeals to me. That and the green dial.

We look forward to seeing your 44mm Willard in a couple weeks? Maybe next month? I think this is closer to the original scale and I think it has the nicer movement, also, in addition to slightly better details and overall quality.. I would think so for the cost of this thing. I also think the crown position is also in a little better position.. in line with the 4 o'clock position vs 3:45 as the 42mm and most other Seiko divers. It's subtle and small detail, but I think it is that much better to be offset out of the way. And, I think your wrist size could easily work with the 44mm version. Is this one magnetized? Maybe why running so fast.
One thing that I don't like about this 44mm version, is the fact that the enlinks of the bracelet are not fitted to the case of the watch properly. It has the same issue that the Sumo has. Other than that, congrats for the new purchase!
You should definitely try putting it on the strap and see how it fits. It might be a better match for it then it is for the bracelet. Maybe Strapcode will make something for this one as well. I really don't get why they leave that space there and they are not fitting bracelets properly. The same with the Sumo which has a good bracelet that is ruined by the stamped clasp and the endlinks which aren't matched to the case...
Very nice ! I like it a lot. Perfect size for real men. But a Seiko is a Seiko so even at this price point, bracelet and clasp are crappy compare to my favorite brand : Tudor.

Prefer the 42mm because the sapphire glass has a bevelled edge. This looks plain in comparison. A nice watch but I would have just got the sla version and be done .

I find the 8L35 movements to be great, but those Seikos are pricey. Best.
