This person is a private banking client with a different bank with a sub-prime rate on their home loan and an exceptional credit profile. No failed debit orders, no accounts in arrears. Not near full utilization on their one and only store account. Fully paid off other vehicle. Only thing I could think of is that they were being penalized for having two (not in arrears) credit cards and a second (not ever in arrears) mortage for a large solar installation. Well, that and that you should never, ever allow the F&I from the dealership or an estate agent to act as a bond originator. There is no indication that they are acting in your best interest. Tell them to get lost and speak to your bank directly - your private banker in particular, if you have one. They have much more flexibility to structure your deals, like making sure it does not have a massive "bomb payment" at the end.
