First time hearing this. Classic. Always good when Frankie Nelson shows up😅
Thank you for all the videos!!!
This was the first time I've ever heard this episode. It was a pleasant surprise to hear Elliott Lewis' voice as Frank Remley on the Lucky Strike Program.
If they hadn't said Cucamonga, I would have been sorely upset!
In-joke at 19:18 - Mel was the original voice of Woody. After Mel left the Lantz Studio, they kept re-using his voice recordings, without bothering to make it legal and pay him for the use of his voice. Mel sued them, and Lantz was ordered to pay damages. Lantz then chose to hire his own wife as the new voice of Woody.
Hal Gibney is the NBC staff announcer heard at the end.
Detroit and Jack Benny both died about the same time.

ANNOUNCER: "'THE JACK BENNY PROGRAM'! Presented by LUCKY STRIKE!"
If I couldn't live in a Marx Brothers movie my next choice would be to live in the Jack Benny Show universe....
If you didn't listen to this show on a regular basis, that whole "Do-Wah-Diddy" bit would make no sense at all.
