- Rating - 9/10 - I really enjoyed this episode guys, I don't know if i'll be alone in that but something about this one just had me hooked. I loved the twist with Dean swallowing the pheonix ash & I really enjoyed the twist at the end with Cas & Crowley! I need to know moooore!! Seeing the boys mum again hurt but was great haha, I love the actress & I think she would have had more of an impact if she was the original host or if they went down a different route altogether, I just wasn't a fan of the young girl coming across as 'The Mother of ALL EVIL'. The hybrid aspect was an interesting arc too, supernatural crossover breeds! Could be extremely powerful...Eve is dead now though soooo, maybe won't see that again. Time will tell...

When Dean called Cas "a baby in a trenchcoat" Misha forgot his line so he looked at the window, and Jared improvised with a new line and it was too good not to include it.

Love the reaction and i said it in a previous reaction for this season, the next episode is the man who would be king and is by far my favorite episode of this season. Story arc, acting, everything is perfect. Hope you enjoy it as much as i do

I love this because i didnt really see it coming.. Cas' acting was superb.. I liked eve though..
I think the whole storyline of purgatory was a bit of a stretch. A person can do everything good their whole life, but then get bit by a werewolf and they are destined to spent all eternity locked in purgatory. Even if they never make a kill.
No stretch. People have souls. People become monsters. You still have a soul. Although, it affects the nature of your soul in a way. It wouldn't make sense for a person who becomes a vampire to go to Heaven or Hell, they are of different nature now. That's how it is. God doesn't care, everything is just a series of experiments.
God I wish castiel would just slap dean in the face I definitely would

Eve kind of disappointed me she really didn’t do much and she confuses me. Is she supposed to be Eve from Adam and Eve, the livianthen aren’t created by her and called her a Mutt

What happened was Crowley & Cas collaborated because they each wanted something and they were able to help each other. Cas needed souls to power up against Raphael and Crowley wanted the power of the monster souls of Purgatory and Crowley helped Cas by loaning him all those souls from hell who were on deck to being made into demons. So Cas resurrected Samuel & Sam (without his soul since he couldn't get it out of the cage) because Sam was his friend & Crowley needed Samuel on the hook to get info that only he knew & had to capture the alpha monsters. It was all explained in The Man Who Would Be King other than Cas being the one who raised Samuel, but that was obvious because only angels could resurrect humans who had long been dead to the point where their bodies have to be rebuilt. In his mission, Cas got so obsessed that he had Balthazar save the Titanic from sinking so he could have access to all the souls of the survivors and their descendants. It was really an awesome plot all the way and props to Sera & the writers for pulling it off in a way that Kripke himself would've done had he not left. The quality of the writing was still there and top notch, even though it took a while to get the ball rolling, which was only natural because season 6 began a new chapter, so a new story had to be told and that always takes time.
I really wish we got to see more of the Heavenly weapons being used in the war. I also really hope that Virgil from The French Mistake somehow makes it back to the regular universe and returns as a villain because he was very dangerous, formidable, and would be great as a recurring villain. He also wouldn't have been affected by Metatron's spell that ripped the wings off all those angels when they fell, so he would be at the original power level of angels.
EDIT: Another detail I just realized is that Crowley & probably Cas too were happy to kill as many monsters as possible because all the souls of those monsters they, Dean, Sam, Samuel, and the other Campbells killed would end up in Purgatory and would be more "fuel" for him & Cas to use once they gained access to Purgatory.
Eve was like a trojan horse character & plot in season 6 that Sera & the writers did with the real menace being what Cas & Crowley were doing with the souls. I love the setup and the upcoming reveal after this episode.

Sam's powers only worked on demons
Mostly. But he gained superior strength when on demon blood which worked against anyone. Thus how he beat Dean up near the end of season 4

@@evanjohnson8564 Yep - I think that's the only time Sam beat Dean in a one on one.
@@dajtoad1 Sam's gotten the best of Dean before, but only in situations where Dean was taking it easy on Sam, trying to avoid hurting him. When Dean has just wanted to win and wasn't concerned about giving Sam a bruise or two, Dean has always won. That fight was the first (and only) time Dean really WANTED to beat Sam and couldn't. Up to this point of course...whether Sam can ever win against Dean without Demon blood is a question that can only be answered by watching!
