Well explained dr .andrea in detail about piriformis syndrome its causes embryology how it presents in human cadavre ..and how & why its compressing sciatic nerves also or mimicking like sciatica ...how to differentiate exactly muscle strain or nerve entrapment . Stretching exercises in lying plays a key role to reducing controling the severity gradually and in addition they may need ultrasound therapy localised and strengthening exercises aswell modification of position to avoid sustainability.... all your demos previous videos are educative and great contribution to our rehabilitation profession to the society. Thank you Dr. Furlan for a great informative video. Could the piriformis muscle also affect the calf muscle? Everyday I do stretching exercises and noticed a big improvement in my posture and the way I stand and walk, however, I don’t seam to be able to get rid of the knot in my calf. (History: a year ago I had 3 herniated discs and found out I have DDD). I prefer stretching and movement over pain killers except for the VERY occasional anti-inflamatory. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.
