    I had the chance to train ten days with Master Ong with my old kung fu club. I have fond memories of this stay in Malaysia. I returned to Switzerland with Dit Da Jow. I still have a full bottle at home.

    Your channel is amazing man. I found it cause I was like jeez I wish there was a show that just covered a different art every episode and than bam there it was lol. I practice wing chun, shotokan, and western boxing but I am constantly researching different martial styles. I just love them all and learning the philosophy that generated them. Thank you for the work you put it in and sharing it with us. Amituofo!

    Hitting even something even kinda hard with the back of your hand like that is rough. Very impressive wailing away on that bag. I started iron palm training a ways back but to take it seriously is a complete practice in itself that I wasn't able to take on yet.

    Very good video! Everything from 16:58 on is very practical and could be used in a wrestling and/or no gi submission grappling context. The part from 19:40 on looks similar to wrestling pummel drills.

      Kinda? It's sort of like lifting heavy weights so you can lift even heavier things in the future. Your muscles might ache a bit after, but you didn't really hurt yourself and it'll be good for you in the long run

      I used to study Hood Khar Pai under the late Ch'ng Ewe-Cheng, who also studied under the late Master P'ng Chai-Kim. It is, indeed, primarily a Luohan system, although there are forms that specialise in other aspects, such as White Crane, Snake, Six Combinations. I met Master Ong back in 1990 when, as a young man, he and Cheng visited us in Ireland. Nice to see him again.

    If Southern Shaolin, why do you need to mix in TaiJi and Xing Yi? To fill in missing portions of the art? Authentic Southern Shaolin is complete, with hard and soft techniques and Internals.

    • @THEMARTIALMAN
      @THEMARTIALMAN  7 лет назад +7

      What is shown by Master Ong is 100% Southern Shaolin. I think you misunderstand, Master Ong has studied different arts but what he is explaining and demonstrating is Sao Lim.
