    These aren't dunks we've never seen before, but something about the way he does it makes it look so amazing. The ups, the body language and the flush on the net makes makes it poetry in motion. Congrats Mr. Lavine

    Zach LaVine has potential to be the greatest dunker in dunk contest history. These were dunks he's been doing since he was 15. He has so much more up his sleeve and he is only 19 years old. FREAKIN 19. At his age for him to put on a show like he did and have the crowd go nuts, that's truly special. He did these dunks with ease, and clearly there was no competition. LaVine is on his way to surpass Vince Carter as best dunker of all time, performance wise.

      Good dunks by Lavine...no question and potential there. However, NOWHERE close to Vince. Maybe that'll change once we actually see them in a game or dunk contest but till then, the distance between Lavine and VC is very wide. Hope Lavine brings it up a notch next yr

    I honestly think he might be the best pure dunker ever. What makes him great is how hard he throws it down. Most slam dunk contest participants just barely pull off their dunks, and that takes away the enthusiasm of the dunk. You dont feel the energy. Lavine doesnt just dunk the ball, he slams it hard. The sound of it going in gets everyone on their feet.

    People saying he did the same dunk 3 or 4 times. Look how he changes it up though. He even finished with the left hand on one of these. And go back on watch VC's dunk contest. He did 2 windmills and a basic between the legs dunk off the bounce. And the honey dip of course. But this kid is crazy young. And he has more dunks he can do in the future. This is just a small sample size of what he can do. Probably gonna win for the next 5 years if he continues to participate. He's that good. I'm just still blown away with how effortless each dunk was for him. He got almost all of them on the first try. Problem with the dunk contest these days is you got players trying to do these dunks that are out of their range and they miss 3 times and have to do something basic. He killed it.

      He said he had more tricks up his sleeve and apparently there was a dunk he practiced with Wiggins that Wiggins said "almost made me faint", but that dunk wasn't one of these so definitely looking forward to more in the future. It really is easy to forget he's 19. And I agree. Those dunks LOOKED basic for him. Especially when you look at it in slow motion, there is nothing "basic" about those dunks. The kid can jump, and that's an understatement.

If he can become a better ball handler and shooter then we're looking at one of the greatest duos of all time with him and wiggins. He still has a long way to go to catch up to wiggins though.

    Lavine's first two dunks are top 10 all time. The first one in slow mo you see his head glide HORIZONTALLY as he passes the rim to dunk it on the other side. Now that's air time that even the great Jordan has to appreciate. The second one was insanely difficult but Zach made it look effortless. Aside from the fancy smancy, he also has pretty good power to go with his dunks, which great dunkers like Vince Carter had.

    I just hope he develops a full game, and isn't out of the league in 4 years.
    I'd hate to see this kind of physical talent go untapped. He's averaging nearly 8 ppg just on athleticism and getting to the foul line, should be in his 2nd year in college and has a ton of room to fill out.. so he's got a great shot.

    • @BennyC023
      @BennyC023 9 лет назад +1

      He is averaging the same ppg, higher assists, and higher rebounds than kobe did in his rookie year. They were both drafted 13th, both drafted as number 8, and both won the dunk contest rookie year. Both play shooting guard, (I mean lavine plays a lot of point guard too. We already have martin at shooting guard, and then Wiggins often plays SG too, and now that we traded mo Williams, zach lavine is the backup PG, but he's a SG at heart) maybe he is the next kobe xD

    Behind Carter (because no one can top that performance) and behind MAYBE J-Rich in pure slam dunk performance. Other than that, I won't argue with any placement.

    For those calling these dunks "simple"; simple is actually putting a cape on and throwing (not dunking) a ball into the hoop. Simple is jumping over the shortest end of a Kia. Ya'll kids watching this and thinking this man is simple clearly weren't around during the era LaVine is paying homage to. Any variation of between the legs/behind the back is so difficult that people would rather use props than attempt a dunk like that. LaVine whetted the appetite I had for this contest since it dissipated in the mid-2000's. Way to kill it, Youngblood.

    2021 Slam Dunk Summary
    Anfernee Simons: I tried to kiss the rim. But couldn't.
    Jury: Incredible move. Superman is in the building. Congrats. You Win.

    This year marks the dawn of a new era in dunking. Zach LaVine has a truly unique style. All of his dunks looked easy to him. I haven't been this entertained since Vince Carter won the dunk contest. With the way Zach can perform through the legs and windmills without losing vert, I am looking forward to some absolutely nasty stuff next year. Windmill from the free-throw line!

    • @ClickOneScope
      @ClickOneScope 8 лет назад +5

      +MizKinkStar well about that Aarons last dunk gave his chance to win away I mean that dunk is just ordinary that every nba player that can bounce do,lavines last dunk is almost free throw under the legs dunk thats espectacular so they gave him a 50

    • @ClickOneScope
      @ClickOneScope 8 лет назад +4

      ***** Ok I'll listen to yah but we have different opinions so for you Gordon is awesome but for me LaVine is awesome to so lets call them really good at dunking maybe next time Gordon will appear again with no LaVine and do it all again

    • @ninetales7292
      @ninetales7292 8 лет назад +3

      +Blue Velvet He didn't get robbed...I was pulling for Aaron, but the results illustrate the importance of timing. Aaron had the best single dunk in the competition, but he did it at the wrong time. Zach saved his best for last and Aaron had just done a dunk of questionable difficulty...it was difficult, but not flashy. And that's what got Zach the win...EDIT...understand that questionable difficulty doesn't mean NOT difficult, but it was harder for the average dude to see its difficulty. Like it or not, crowd reaction determines about 6/10 of the score.

    seriously just talent right here; put on one of the best performances since Vince Carter. some you dont even realize are the opposite hand/side and not getting the credit he deserved on that. he has so much more and I look forward to seeing him next year to bring home another win; hopefully he comes through and we see him in the All-Star game as well; right next to Wiggins who will have a great year next year; Wiggins took some to get going but come December he started to catch fire and has been great since. LaVine is on and off and sometimes has great game and others just OK; he has the ability to catch fire and become great.

    He will win the dunk contest for the next 5 years. The only person I can see giving him competition is Gerald Green. Smh He could have added a 360 to each of these dunks with no problem!
