It is an amazing place! I will visit them again someday.
I like so much visit cancun. I have been twice time there and i want to go egain. Its very nice u dont have to stop to learn about his curture and nice place. Mexico that was my inspiration for do videos en youtobe.
memories, memories. you captured it really well. great video.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
You kno I'm lucky to say that I was able to climb this beautiful pyramid. Chichen itza is one of my favorite places on earth .
I was 10 when I last was able to climb it and it was its last year to ever climb it again . Due to people disrespecting the pyramid. And as well as people getting hurt .
Is it me or when ever I'm their it's like my body gets this electrifying sensation. Like I meant to be their lol
Great video ☺️❤️
Bonita Plum Thanks! I have climbed the Aztec pyramids twice but never got the chance to climb Chichen Itza.. I completely understand why the stopped allowing tourists to climb it. Truely awesome place! I look forward to my next trip there (when ever that is) Thanks again!
Did you try coba ? Other great place to visit I think they still let you climb that one .
Not sure .
And no problem if you do go on the next trip be sure to record lol
No. Didn't have the time.. I got to Tulum and that was about it.. Been to Xcaret a couple of times in the past.
Oh yeah I'll record everything LOL!
Thank you for this video, I'm off to see it for the first time on 1/18/15. This was great to see what to expect. Thanks!
Awesome! Glad you liked my video! You'll love it seeing it for the first time, there's nothing like the first experience! Have fun!
Great video. That pyramid structure looks enormous!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
thank you for sharing. just what we needed to see before we go visit
Michelle Sanchez Glad you enjoyed it. Have fun!
If you don't mind me asking. We plan on staying in Yucatan Progreso area for a month. Would you recommend this or a shorter time period? I am doing research on things to do and see before we decide. Thanks for any feedback.
A month? Nice! I've stayed in Iguala, Guerrero for over a month before (see my playlists) and had no issues..
Never stayed in that area before; only Cancun in the hotel district for a week max.. If there's no reports of crime against tourists you may be fine for that length of time..
I'd love to stay there for a month if I could afford it, that would be awesome!
RVR2 yes looking into exploring the local ruins as well as Merida. I have subscribed to your channel. Everything looks amazing. Again thanks for sharing!
Awesome Thanks! Post some videos of your explorations out beyond the pyramids when you can.. I've never been out there other than the Cenote. Have fun!
This destination is on my bucket list. I would not like the hard sell from the vendors. I might buy a little pyramid for a pocket souvenir, maybe a fridge magnet and some post cards. I agree with your observation that it isn't a good idea to be loaded down. It must be pretty hot down there. I would prefer to go in December, January or February.
thanks for the video, enjoyed it, i really appreciate your efforts, looks like an awesome place
Tony Cassidy Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
climbed el castillo in 2003. my ten year son and I went up while my wife and five year old daughter waited at the bottom, thought it was to steep for her. Wife took a picture of son and I half way up. when I reached the top there was my daughter beside me! She had run off from my wife and scrambald up the stairs on all fours before my wife could catch her! we got some great pictures from the top.
donald magnuson Nice! I wish I could have climbed it but they blocked it off before my first trip there in 2006..
nice job on the video mate...nice job.
What a great video im planning a trip to Cancun for the first time. I was going to skip going to this place but i dont think so! This is beautiful
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes I highly recommend visiting Chichen Itza when ever you visit Cancun.. Enjoy!
From what I've read it is a long bus ride from Cancun and you arrive at the hottest time of the day. Try to plan an overnight visit for a more enjoyable time.
I just went here 2 days ago- wish I saw this video as we missed some of the best parts after our "guided tour" the history and beliefs of why these were built in they first place over and on top of other monuments buried underneath was amazing to learn from a local of Mayan decent- it's a shame it is filled with merchants who pay a cut to the land owner but that's what happens in a Corrupted society- that would never happen in other places. But still a beautiful place with a history that is still being figured out- their politics were not so out of line with how the rest of us live now those who know rule the rest- thanks for the video!
Check out the places you missed next time you go there. Thanks glad you liked it.
Went about a week ago for the Spring Equinox and saw the Serpent of Light. The precision with which the Mayans built these structures is unbelievable. The scammers, I mean vendors, completely took away from the archaeological aspects and natural beauty. I got so tired of hearing the damn Jaguar calls and scammers saying "one dollar." I would never buy anything from them. Fake silver and products made in China...garbage. The vendors need to be outside the ruins. I will go back only if that happens. On the bright side, no pun intended, I did see the Serpent of Light.
I was here in 1995 , and I climbed a little but was afraid of heights then tried climbing the other one , a Native Mexican kid helped me down. realized this steps were for people who had 4 inch feet. then I tried going inside the cave went in a little but still air got thinner and claustrophobia set in. The sun was beating down on us. No guides like today either. but overall the pyramid still is an amazement to look at.
Nice! Wish I could have climbed it.
I went about 8 years ago, I was so excited to get there and think woah I'll be able to climb that, as my family and I pulled up an ambulance was taking off and they were also posting up the caution tape. Apparently a 70 year old lady had fallen down.
Vivian S I remember hearing about that and I believe that was when they stopped letting tourists climb that pyramid.. Our first trip there was in January, 2006 and that incident happened before we arrived and we were not allowed to climb it then.
great Feeling
great pyramides
a very great view
very nice place
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Can someone tell me about the bus ride here. I am going on a Disney cruise and wonder about the ride itself. I don't like drive on the side of a mountain. Is the drive like that?
It's about a 2 hour bus ride from Cancun so make sure the cruise ship will be in port long enough to go visit, and there's no mountains on the Yucatan peninsula..
great prelude as i will be there next week. what did you use to record this vid? i will be bringing go pros and vid cams and DSLRs. tx for the vid
+setupandshoot Cool! I used a Flip Video UltraHD 3rd Generation camcorder. It records in 720HD but I could have 'upconverted' it to 1080HD with video editing software.. Your GoPro should do nicely. I have a 1st generation GoPro Hero model with the LCD BacPac on it but the audio is muffled too much for using it for touring videos like this (in my opinion).. The Flip Camcorder is the a similar size of a cell phone and easy to handle while walking around. Thanks and have fun!
Muy bonito
nice video thanks
Federico Gonzalez Ramos Thanks! Glad you liked it
I'll be there in 3 weeks!
Lisa R. Awesome! Wish I could go back again soon but money is tight these days.. Have fun!
Thanks! I definitely understand that! Are there any tips, pointers, or advice in general you'd give for a first timer like me that maybe gets overlooked or not considered?
Well, make sure you catch the right bus LOL I was put on the wrong bus for my trip to Tulum and they sent me to Xel-Ha instead and they put me on a private van that took me to Chichen Itza.
Keep your money in a secure place and don't wear a lot of expensive jewelry. Stay with your tour group. You'll get to see a lot of the ruins with your tour guide.
Lots of souvenir vendors there and their prices are kind of high on purpose so be sure to haggle a bit on the price to get it to a reasonable level so you can stretch your money out for more stuff.
If you have the time, go see Tulum and Xcaret (I have videos of those sights on my channel if your interested) Have Fun!
I'll be visiting Xcaret as well! I'll take some time to check out your video on it. Thank you for your pointers! I think souvenirs tend to be expensive on purpose when they're so close to the actual site. At least that's what I've experienced traveling in other popular destinations, but I'll definitely keep your suggestion in mind when making my purchases. Thanks again. :)
I was first there in 2003 . I climbed to the top . and went inside . I went back in 2006 . I was last there in 2014 . it sucks now .
Never got to climb it. Not sure if they will ever let tourists climb it again :/
I went there!!!!!!!!!! Did you have to use that ear peice thing to hear your tourist person????
No I understood the guide pretty well with out it
RVR2 oh ok
There are many tourists that one could easily get separated from your tour group. If your group is under tight schedule and needed to be back to your bus at specific time, to get back to your ferry boat and unto your ship, I see this very necessary.
j wish I was you at this temple what a site it is. Thx for the amazing footage. Only thing that ruins it for me is the people trying to sell you shit when ur in your element look at the temple.
It's a spectacular adventure and yeah you just can't avoid the local vendors there at all..
i went in jan 06 we walked to the top incredible views did you apparently stopping it a few weeks later
+lee major My first trip there was in January 06 as well but they had roped it off due to a tourist being killed falling down the steps so I never got to climb this one.
We feel so privileged to have climbed it was amazing and surprisingly steep so easy to climb but very nervous people coming down lol
We went on new years eve 2005 for 2wks
Awesome! I have video from our first trip there back in January, 06 on my channel.. I've been to Xcaret, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, as well as Chichen Itza a few times. Hope to go again someday soon.
Now when I watch this reminds me of Apocalipto the movie
They threw the heads of the people down those stairs.
Hawah Hawah Haya Haya
I used the knife...
2semanas
i just went a week ago
