I'm Mexican and I went to a church in San Diego that was all black. I walked in for the first time and had absolutely no clue it was an all black church. When I walked in I noticed they all looked at me with a bit of surprise, It was a room full of black people and a Mexican walks in? What do you expect? When I saw their expressions I was about to walk out but then I said to myself..."Hey, I'm here to hear the word of God and to worship God and if these people truly are Christian they will welcome me." So I sat down and no one gave me a mean look or funny uncomfortable feeling. People kept coming and sat next to me smiling and all happy. People from all around me approached me, shook my hand, welcoming me. They approached me and said hello and shook my hand, it was such a great feeling of love and open heart to me. One thing I did notice was that the women all wore some sort of very pretty hat and not sure what the deal was with the love of hats but hey.. whatever. They where all so so nice to me and I will admit, the music service was quite wild and as a musician myself I could of cared less if it was loud or long but I knew that these people where truly singing and dancing with their whole heart praising Jesus. At the end of the sermon everyone went to the altar and I heard speaking in tongues, crying, praising Jesus, thanking Jesus, lifting of arms to the air. At the end it was very different, not crazy loud but I could feel true sincere adoration for Jesus, God, and they held nothing back. I felt a real gathering of people who loved Jesus and I felt the Holy Spirit in there, it was incredible. The sermon was great also. The preacher would stop at times when things got exciting for him and next thing you know that organ came on and everyone got excited and on it went again, dancing and yelling out Jesus. I don't think its any gimmick, all that shouting and dancing and running, you feel a freedom to worship and you don't know how so you do what your heart feels like doing, run, shout, scream, anything to praise God and thats praising God and your also fellowshiping with others who also love God and want to be around the same kind of people. Jesus is the light of the world and is real and we need to worship him whatever way we can.
Amen. I'm glad you had the experience. And don't be freaked out by the big hats. Usually, it's the First Lady and the mothers who wear them. For me, It was a sign of wisdom and growth in the church. Women who had been in the church for a long time usually wore them.

The Holy Spirit is real and it not only falls on you while in church but while you're at home. Me and a friend were praying at her house and the Holy Spirit fell and the next thing I know I was shouting,running, dancing and praising God. As Jesus says in Matthew 18:20, "If 2 or 3 are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
This is amazing - I was baptized Lutheran and my husband and I agree that this is how the TRUE GOSPEL should be EVERY day in Churches throughout the world!
I am just wondering of those who have a problem with shouting and running IN the house of God. Do you feel that yelling and cheering out loud at a football or basketball game means nothing either? Or is it acceptable because you LOVE the sport? My praise, worship, dance, run, skip is NOT held to the temple. Yes I have run from my kitchen to my bedroom WHY? Because 7 years ago the doctors 4 of them to be exact said I would NEVER be able to walk without oxygen or doing the treatments they set up even though they had NO real diagnosis for what was going on. YET here I am today NEVER had one of their treatments and they ask ME on every visit HOW AM I STILL HERE?!!!! So excuse me as I RUN AND GIVE MY GREAT GOD A PRAISE!!!!!

It's amazing how so many of us know how to shout, but can't explain or understand how to use faith. Faith is what gets me to the level pass struggle. So many people go to church, shout and dance, but have no real word that will help them overcome their issues. A lot of us think that if we didn't shout, run and jump the pews, we didn't have church. We need to renew our minds.... Nothing against "shouting" though.

OK, I gave my heart to the Lord at 14 and grew up on music like this. Have heard this tune a million times or more, and IT STILL makes me want to praise him 30 years later. Many think that praising God is mostly about singing and dancing....however, God requires a total change - a complete 360 degree turn AWAY from living a life of sin and shame. We must worship God in spirit and in truth.....any worship outside of "spirit and truth", is simply vain worship.

I cannot stop looking at this video. It is very powerful. I don't think I could have waited that long to praise God. I don't need any music to get me started. As soon as he said ' on the 3rd day he got up', I think I would have went in then. Just thinking about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins is enough to get me going in praise. He is definitely worth all my praise!

This is truly a beautiful request. Trust in the Lord with your whole heart. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and ask Him to come into your heart. Get a Holy Bible and begin to read and learn of Jesus more and more each day. Look for true believers in Jesus to help guide you along the way, people who have the love of Christ in their hearts. You will know them by their actions. Thank God for your soul. You can be saved as your heart desires. May God bless you and keep you is my prayer.

Ppl can say what they want, make fun, snide comments, ect but when you praise God from your heart He will show up. Scripture say The Lord inhabits the praise of his ppl. You praise and He shows up and I bet you wont stay still. His presense is so powerful, you will run or jump, dance or cry with joy. Our God and our King is amazing.
You could dance to the roof, shout and sing to the sky, if there is no holiness in it you are just wasting your precious time.

You don't see people praise like this anymore. This is when people praise their ways out of a situation. Now people get depressed and just live with it but praise is a weapon of mass destruction. It's a internal showing of strength and trust. I've been to smallwood concert at that church before and the praise is sincere!!!

It's amazing how so many of us know how to shout, but can't explain or understand how to use faith. Faith is what gets me to the level pass struggle. So many people go to church, shout and dance, but have no real word that will help them overcome their issues. A lot of us think that if we didn't shout, run and jump the pews, we didn't have church. We need to renew our minds.... Nothing against "shouting" though.
