You said Spigen Neo Hybrid is grippy and I have to disagree. I'm using it on S22U, the sides are not grippy at all. It slides off you hand if you're not grabbing it with force. My though armour on N20U is hell lot grippier.
I actually bought the Spigen Cryo, I have use Spigen for a long time. but my phones screen cracked by something hitting the side. I'm very disappointed, I now am looking for a new case with a front built in screen protector. and now im having a hard time finding one that has what I'm looking for, either they cost too much or are heavy ☹️
The cutouts have to do with the case thickness. The thicker the case, the more the it will bleed into the photo field & the more the flash is reflected into the lense. Thinner cases can go right up to the lense without affecting the photo field. Thicker case need a bigger cutout to get further away from the lenses.
which is why I loved the design of the S21 ultra, with the cameras being protected by being embedded into a metal housing that blended into the frame of the phone. I hate how Samsung when backwards with the design with these stupid, exposed camera rings
Excellent video. I totally agree with you about the single large cut outs. It kills the characteristic of the Ultra. It doesn't look nice and doesn't match with the design of the camera module. It's more like for S21 Ultra.
I have used UAG since my note 3 and I love the cases, the only one the store had was the black S22 ultra so I got a grey pathfinder series UAG case and it's working great.
Spigen Tough Armor has been my go to case for over 6-7 years. However they have REALLY let me down with the S22 Ultra Tough Armor this time around. Not having individual camera cutouts KILLS this design for me. Why? Why?!!! On all their premium cases did they go with the P cutout? It’s not like they don’t charge an arm and a leg for their cases already…they couldn’t go the extra step of having individual cutouts? WTF!? Now I’m on a search to replace the Tough Armor series. It’s hard however to find similar protection, with a kickstand, and individual camera cutouts. This is seriously driving me nuts. I got my phone, but don’t wanna pull it out and use it without a case…so I’m stuck waiting.
Well I've been watching some videos about UAG and their Monarch case seems to be a solid choice especially since it looks like that it provides better protection for the cameras.
Just a heads up with that clear case Spigen with the metal kickstand. Due to the magent of the kickstand, it affects the S Pen when writing or tapping on the screen. Bottom left of the screen when writing with the S Pen will not register. Check it out for yourself and hope you make a video about it so everyone will be aware of it. Great videos as always 👌🏼
In case anyone was wondering, I have the UAG Monarch and it fits perfectly with the whitestone dome glass. I really wanted the Kevlar case but it's just too expensive..
Bought the carbon fiber Monarch case last year for my S21 Ultra, thoroughly pleased. Looked for the same model for the S22 Ultra on Amazon, 🤯💥? Kevlar version offered for $80! Take my money already. UAG is a one and done purchase for me. Now, I'm just playing with my case until my S22 arrives. Only gripe about the grip, smaller honeycomb rubber texture. An added and fitted screen protector would have been nice too. Aside from that, this is what The Batman would be using in Gotham while talking to Alfred.
Those P cutouts kill the design of the phone! Therefore, a lot of cases are on my "no way" list. I bought a pathfinder in dark green color, that one is dope! I pre-ordered a dbrand grip case, with hell of a good grip body, individual cutouts, that's gonna be a vinner! I used to love the OEM Samsung protective standing cover, but the new semi transparent one is ugly!
I agree, P cutouts look like a cheap shortcut. Currently sporting the Spigen Thin Fit, for my Black 1TB S22 Ultra. Like it alot, and a bargain for $16 Amazon Prime.
The cryo armor case is meant to be a case designed to help with cooling the phone down compared to a normal case that traps the heat in more, it says it uses graphite to transfer the heat. Ive not seen any videos yet that test this case to see if its worth it for the cooling ability considering its high price £27.99 in the uk!

I prefer the large cutout than the individual circles. I actually installed individual circular lens protectors that increase the size of the camera lenses, and having those circles would prevent installation of camera lens protectors. Having the huge cutouts works perfect for my use case. Btw im using a caudabe sheath for the s22 ultra. Amazing thin case and feels fantastic with the sandpaper texture!
I like the last Spigen case because it protects all 4 sides of the case and cushions the side glass the best. Neo Hybrid. I wish there was a clear version though as I want to see my red phone... And the UAG Plasma because it's translucent & I like the design...
My complaint about the UAG plasma is they didn't have the rubber along the whole side. I know they can be purchased separately, but I don't know if there's enough space in the case for it.
I haven't even hit play yet but if Spigen didn't sponsor this video they should have based on the time stamps in the description. I have my S22 Ultra on order but my Rokform case already arrived and it's by far the best case I've ever used! You should review that one!
@@TheJabberTech That stinks, maybe RokForm would hook you up, I found out about them via RUclipsrs DDE (car channel) only downfall of that case is the magnets render the S-pen useless, you have to take them out for it to work but the case is quality and the magnet mounts are awesome!
Great job, you chose the best case brands and I appreciate that. On a side note, you missed the point of the spigen cryo case - it’s purpose is for helping to cool the phone for heavy users and gamers. Hence the blue honeycomb on the back with a special coating on the inside. I have tried all these cases, and some of them are on point however….when you try the pitaka aramid fiber case its on a whole other level…plus it makes your s22 ultra magsafe compatible (take that apple).
What kind of screen protector were you using if you don't mind my asking? I saw your other video on the whitestone dome and how it didn't respond well with your finger scan but I thought you mentioned having a glass protector in this video. Did you find another one that provides good protection and still works with the scanner?
I wish you would have reviewed the regular monarch case as well... I was hoping for a bit of a comparison between that and the Kevlar version lol. Good review though.
Great review on these cases 👍. I'm interested in getting the Ultra Hybrid S, but I was told the magnetic stand interferes with the S pen and causes the battery to drain quickly. Can anyone confirm? Thanks 🙏
I have the liquid air which I bought for the individual camera cutouts (I agree and HATE the single cutout). I like it a lot, just wish it was a hard case. I have a metal disk attached for my magnetic mount and it does bulge in the rear because of it. Is the Neo Hybrid a hard case? Looks like it could be what I'm looking for.

I had a chance to play with the UAG aramid fiber case in person and I have to say, it definitely is a good looking case but going off the in hand feel it definitely doesn't feel like it's worth $80. I got the regular S22 and just went with a temporary clear case from Ringke for $10 and pre-ordered the Dbrand Grip Case. Hopefully I get that soon
I've got the spigan tough armour for now, but the volume buttons have no tactile feel which is strange, as the power button does. I'm in the UK and have ordered the uag kevlar to be shipped over, pity its not available on amazon UK. When people say how expensive the uag one is, rember how much the phone is worth, don't seem so bad then., I did have the unicorn beetle, but sent it back, most uncomfortable case I've used , and big gaps around the kickstand, not to mention a pain to get on and off.
Thanks for the reviews but important info missing. You failed to mention that with any clear case is will show absolutely every fingerprint every time you touch it which is beyond annoying and to many, an unacceptable flaw. Got an Otterbox clear model and had to return it for this reason. Also not mentioned with each review is whether the phone lays flat camera side down and most important to me and others is the weight and thickness of each model. UAG is beyond cool looking but will it be like carrying a large heavy brick in the pocket?
i know most of the people are tempted by looking at the kevlar case, Here are my thoughts... though kevlar is know to be light weight it is fire resistant in other words it acts like an insulator and if you live in a hot area, when the phone gets hot when you crank the brightness high outdoors, heat might get trapped at the back and the only way for the phone to cool down is to dissipate heat via front screen. So I'm not sure about the thermals with the kevlar case especially when i know that snapdragon gen 1 is a hot chip....
Really great review. Been watching all of your s22 ultra content and I enjoyed them all. I'm curious to know how the UAG Civilian case feels as far as smooth or has some good grip to it. I'm thinking about getting one since none of the others will work with the Whitestone Dome camera protector, which is really unfortunate
Thx for the video, really like the clean spigen designs too bad the sides of the curved display are way to exposed since thats where my last screen cracked when I accidentally dropped it
I just got the s22 ultra and use the snapwireless car mount and 3 in one wireless charger and use one if their stick on rings so yes magsafe is great on an Android
UAG Monarch has a similar flaw to the vast cases I had for the Edge+... Screen protector will NOT stop bubbling and coming off in the top edging. . Sad about this no matter how long you let your screen protector set before putting the case on. .
Have you checked the wide angle camera's view with your "perfect cutout" cases? I bought a waterproof case for a river trip, with individual cut-outs for the lenses. Obvious vignetting. I'm assuming the Spiegen's are that way for a reason.
Im a fan of uag since my last case is for note 9. I realised that bulky tough case is for my curved screen phone😅. Now I'm hunting for my next s22 ultra uag
Dude come on…do SOME research on what ur reviewing. The Spigen CRYO case (not CYRO), is meant to provide additional cooling for the phone. It has a graphite pad and a thermal pad on the inside back of the case, and air cutouts on the back off the case (the blue that you see through the holes is the thermal pad). You mention none of that.
@George St. Martin - it’s a novel design, but Im not sure it’s really gonna do what it claims to do. Yeah it might help cool the back glass by a degree or two, but what is that gonna really help with the performance of the phone? It’s like cooling the outside of a computer case or a laptop case by a degree or two - and hoping that drops your CPU or GPU temps. Unless there’s direct contact between the back glass and the CPU/GPU, or direct contact with the cooler plate, it’s not gonna do anything. Even if there is contact, generally glass is an insulator, not a conductor for heat. The thermal transfer ability of glass is very low compared to other materials. So if you like the case just for it’s general design, go for it. However unless I see some independent testing of it’s cooling performance (or at least some cooling data from Spigen), I wouldn’t get this case for it’s cooling abilities.
Unless it's scientifically proven ,I don't believe their claims dude..just like "air cushion technology"...it's just marketing but you believe what you want
@Jabber Tech - my point wasn’t that Spigen CRYO performance is proven. My point was that you should explain the intended design so people understand what they’re buying and why Spigen is trying to charge so much for it. As far as air-cushion tech is concerned, that IS a provable (proved) concept. Cases were always of the general variety where the material hugged the entirety of the phone edges, with direct contact. Someone realized that you get better drop protection by creating a void at the edges between the case and the phone, an “air pocket” if u will, which increases the time it takes for the energy to transfer, dissipating it more readily into the case body rather than transferring that shock to the phone. It’s more of a timing issue and energy redirection (an example would be if you slowly pressed the edge of the phone with 10 ft-Lbs force or struck it with 10 ft-Lbs of force). That aspect of the “air-cushion” tech is a proven concept, which is why almost all case manufacturers went to it regardless of what their marketing department calls it. However that design adds additional bulk to the case, which is why you generally see it on bulkier cases that offer more protection.
Of course air cushion tech works..my point is that it's a marketing term and all cases now just about have air as a cushion...for the cryo case it probably lowered the temp by a degree and they're trying to get ppl to spend more for it. I have no time to promote something that I don't know is true so I didn't mention it..it's an cool design and I would buy it for that alone ATM
Real disappointed with number of cases without individual cut outs, also the few I found with cut outs are only black. Kinda boring. Hopefully Samsung releases more colors of their own, I think their cases are best. Or more colors of Spigen air

I wouldn't ruin an 80 case with a kickstand!! Plus I don't thin it would adhere properly
If UAG came with a kickstand I'd definitely get one.
So I got the spigen tough armor.
I haven't even hit play yet but if Spigen didn't sponsor this video they should have based on the time stamps in the description. I have my S22 Ultra on order but my Rokform case already arrived and it's by far the best case I've ever used! You should review that one!
Spigen hasn't sent me anything in all the years I've been reviewing their cases but they should!
@@TheJabberTech That stinks, maybe RokForm would hook you up, I found out about them via RUclipsrs DDE (car channel) only downfall of that case is the magnets render the S-pen useless, you have to take them out for it to work but the case is quality and the magnet mounts are awesome!
Oh here's Damon throwing his phone in a Rokform case. ruclips.net/video/g4QHTAL2Jfk/видео.html
Not being able to use the pen is a deal breaker for me and my meme sharing
@@TheJabberTech Coming from a Note9 I never used my S-pen anyway so I can deal with it.
Out of the Spigen Thin Fit & Liquid Air, which one has the better grip? How's the grip on the NeoHybrid and Cyro case as well? Thanks
I have the Monarch Kevlar on my S22 Ultra and it has protected my phone fron 4 drops already, about 5 feet on concrete.
Great job, you chose the best case brands and I appreciate that. On a side note, you missed the point of the spigen cryo case - it’s purpose is for helping to cool the phone for heavy users and gamers. Hence the blue honeycomb on the back with a special coating on the inside. I have tried all these cases, and some of them are on point however….when you try the pitaka aramid fiber case its on a whole other level…plus it makes your s22 ultra magsafe compatible (take that apple).
i just bought the case with a credit card holder...love it
What kind of screen protector were you using if you don't mind my asking? I saw your other video on the whitestone dome and how it didn't respond well with your finger scan but I thought you mentioned having a glass protector in this video. Did you find another one that provides good protection and still works with the scanner?
Whitestone dome glass. I installed it with a new method and the fingerprint works great now ruclips.net/video/feRQkBXRBd0/видео.html
I wish you would have reviewed the regular monarch case as well... I was hoping for a bit of a comparison between that and the Kevlar version lol. Good review though.
It's the same frame bro, just no kevlar insert
@@TheJabberTech got ya. Still different type products and 20 bucks less? Why? That is all I wanted to know.
Kevlar =expensive and marketing bruh.theres your $20 more
@@TheJabberTech thats hilarious.
Thank for this no beating around the bush style cases reviews!
Love the spigen LC case, thin, just protective enough while not adding bulk.
The neo hybrid is flexible
@@TheJabberTech Ok, thank you
do all versions of monarch uses real kevlar? or just the "kevlar black"? i bought the carbon fiber verison, is that also made of kevlar?
does the Pitaka magsafe case have a magnet in it? (ie. can you snap it to a fridge or metal frame?) or is it simply a metal ring (ie not magnetic)?
metal ring, no magnet
Bought me a Liquid Crystal from Spigen to pair with my exclusive red S22 ultra. Now waiting for the phone to arrive hopefully in a few weeks😅
Which color?!
@@TheJabberTech The red ( I think more orange looking) color exclusively available from the Samsung website.
Nice...I'm waiting for the graphite to arrive but I almost ordered the red too
@@TheJabberTech That one looks nice as well. I was sold immediately on the red lol. Enjoy your device, can't wait for mine to arrive but its gonna take a while. Looking forward to more videos on this device and it's accessories. Liked and subbed 👍🏻
Saludos!
Hi! UAG Monarch Kevlar edition work with dome glass ?
yes
UAG civilian or spigen tough armor which would you think is the most protective especially on the curved sides ? Thx ✌️
From what I remember, the tough armor but watch the video again and check both
ciao consiglio spingen cryo o uag kevlar quale secondo te è la migliore grazie ottima recensione
They've been doing it that way for years now...eventually you get used to it but it's not a great design IMO
Thank you for such a detailed video!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi! Is the uag monarch compatibale with the whitestone tempered glass? Planning to get a uag case. Thanks!
Yes it is 😊
Nice video bro,
Can Temper glass be suitable with Urbsn Armour Monarch case ?
Appreciate it! Yes it does
@@TheJabberTech Thank you bro for your patience reply.
Also, Temper glass case candy good ?
It is full glue type
no idea , never heard of case candy screen
What would be the Screen Protector to use for the Plasma from UAG? Only the best Please!

Color wheel is fun. Variation is the key to evolution -Charles Darwin.
UAG Monarch Kevlar is the best case in terms of protection and design. Verizon is selling them for $59.99 on their site.
Sweet deal!!!
Excellent video, super helpful, thanks so much! Will you summarize your favorites for us?
Video on that in the works! Stay 📺

Great video, really helped me choose the right case, Thank You.
Glad to help!
I'm loving the monarch uag.. but the issue I'm having is my oily/sweaty palms. any recommendations on which is suitable?
Baby powder?
I just ordered the clear uag plasma one for my red/orange s22u. Thanks
Appreciate it! The civilian case is smooth to the touch but not a slippery case
@@TheJabberTech oh OK. Thanks for the reply and definitely appreciate the great content. Is it a rubber type feeling or plastic?
Plastic
The "One buldge" sent me FLLLLYYYYINNNN' 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thx for the video, really like the clean spigen designs too bad the sides of the curved display are way to exposed since thats where my last screen cracked when I accidentally dropped it
I am looking for a s22 case that would cover (protect) the 3 cameras and the charging port too. Any suggestion please?
I just got the s22 ultra and use the snapwireless car mount and 3 in one wireless charger and use one if their stick on rings so yes magsafe is great on an Android

The cryo armor looks so awesome, WHEW!
UAG Monarch has a similar flaw to the vast cases I had for the Edge+... Screen protector will NOT stop bubbling and coming off in the top edging. . Sad about this no matter how long you let your screen protector set before putting the case on. .
Picked up the Kevlar today. Love it!
It's 🔥
Great video! Would love to see how the Peak Design Everyday case compares.
Have you checked the wide angle camera's view with your "perfect cutout" cases? I bought a waterproof case for a river trip, with individual cut-outs for the lenses. Obvious vignetting. I'm assuming the Spiegen's are that way for a reason.
No issues
@Jabber Tech cool, thanks! Was looking at the Spiegan neo-hybrid
Are there any clear cases that aren't slippery as heck? Something like the speck grip presidio but clear or something similar.
OtterBox symmetry
Does the Civilian lay flat face up or does it wobble?
Im a fan of uag since my last case is for note 9. I realised that bulky tough case is for my curved screen phone😅. Now I'm hunting for my next s22 ultra uag
what i miss in all of them is holes for wrist strap.... dont know why they stop adding it in smartphones or in cases...
Yeah, I was hoping he would go in to the Cryo case a bit more. He just treated it like a new design.
I like the clear ones but I wish they came in hard plastic
Otterbox has a good clear hard shell case ruclips.net/video/eeW_j2S4tmg/видео.html
