My two favorite Kenyan infrastructure RUclipsrs; Dolphine 254 and Moses Gemini. Gemini is truly the king of infrastructure content in Mombasa. This project is fantastic! Having lived in Baxton, it’s hard to believe this is the same place. I hope the houses will go to those who need them most and not corrupt cartels.

The neighborhood looks nice but how can taxpayers government land be used to construct ‘affordable’ housing but make sure only well off can afford?

But just to say the truth.
How can mama bonga afford to buy those affordable housing.
Its just going to benefit the individuals who can buy who are probably not Mama mboga bodaboda and generally those from humble backgrounds.😢
The government is going to benefit big since if u buy they get double money 🤑 more than what they used to buld.
Anyways tge houses are beautiful ❤️
Those who can manage to stay next to mosques na kelele, pia ni sawasawa.❤

Why do they say affordable yet we all know the average Kenyan can't afford even a single unit of 2.9m? is it affordable in terms of rent or buying??

affordable for politicians, foreigners and rich people. They will be bought only to be rented out. Mostly locals will be a minority there, imagine housing levy is funding cheaper acquisitions of loads of houses by foreigners, politicians and rich people?

This doesn't qualify for an affordable housing project, putting in mind it's built on public land plus people are paying housing levy, payment plan and initial deposit is not for the common mwananchi

AirBnb and similar services are a reason not to move to this and similar projects that allow it. These services drastically increase the chances that every few weeks your neighbourhood will be unusually noisy because of the users themselves or their children or pets.

And until you get water bills that read 37,000ksh. for just two months. That is where we are at. Would you pay 37,000 ksh. for water bills? others have bills that read even 47,000ksh. for the same 2 months and two bedroom. Welcome to the exorbitant affair.
