Honestly, regardless of what this guy is like behind the scenes I don’t think she should be in a serious relationship quite yet. Gypsy had her childhood stolen from her and spent most of her adult life in jail, she’s had no time to be her own person. That’s the last person who should be getting married.
I agree, I also can’t understand why everyone seems to be looking at the man who killed her mother as some sort of quixotic hero. I agree, Gypsy probably did manipulate him to a certain extent. However, he was caught molesting a child at a public restroom previously, had a seriously disturbing internet history, and a history of antisocial behavior. He was no angel.

Gypsy is probably traumatized by the hoarding. Her mom kept EVERYTHING, which may be why she felt some way. She is figuring things out and probably doesn't know how to even handle her own emotions.

It seems odd to me for the media to focus on this girl so much. She did something horrible for survival. It shouldn’t be glamorized, but the root issue of why also can’t be ignored. The kid was tortured, mentally and physically. Tried to run away multiple times, caught and captured every time. I can’t fully blame a child for doing something drastic in those circumstances. I don’t think it makes her a hero, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that she’s a victim. Focusing on her life out of prison is so strange, it’s like “Heyo, this girl was tortured for the first part of her life, was never given tools to build social skills or emotional maturity, and wouldn’t you know it, now that she’s out it seems like she’s not in a healthy relationship. Let me preface by saying that I’m kinda neutral when it comes to this lady, but highly empathetic for victims of abuse. I feel like Gypsy Rose is being judged on her ability to be an adult when she didn’t have anyone teaching her how to be a good person. It’s absolutely all fun and laughs and she’s intentionally putting herself into the spotlight, so zero criticism of the commentary. I love Ken, Dane, and Mary!
I just feel like whenever I see her, I’m watching a person who is learning how to human and adult in realtime.
Considering the fact her mother never treated her like a healthy human, and then she was in prison, she probably doesnt know how to be a human let alone an adult. There needs to be a class in prison when you are getting out that teaches you about modern society instead of just releasing prisoners and hoping for the best. With myself, my husband, our elderly dogs, and sometimes both of our children in the bed with us, I can't be sure exactly which sound is coming out of who, but I'm finally starting to understand those happily married couples who have separate bedrooms. If I had the option, I'd probably sleep in another room every once in a while, too. 😅

It's a mental health condition and can stem from severe depression, abuse, trauma or growing up in severe poverty. Grief, loss or trauma can trigger it too. It's a highly complex emotional disorder and personal to each individual "hoarder" and it's something that needs therapy, help and support to over come. The hoarding is a physical manifestation of something going on with in someones psyche highlighting damage or trauma. Educate yourself.

Obviously the murder stuff is bad and I am not trying to devalue it, but you are so right. 'normal' people legitimately don't understand abuse. They look at what gypsy did and are horrified and can't believe it. But when you are raised being abused, your perception of the world doesn't align with 'normal'. Gypsy said (I think this was during her trial) that she didn't believe there was anyway to escape her mother other than killing her. Many people look at that like "what? Just go to the police idiot." But the police are either perceived as unable to help or (as in my situation) literally unable to do anything. I fully believe that gypsy believed there was no other way to escape her mother. Of course it wasn't the only way but she did not and could not know and understand that.

with those three members of my family i easily came home to my bedroom ruined, my personal belongings destroyed or exposed, not to forget i was bullied for most of my childhood but what did i do ? did anyone died ? no. i ran away. trauma doesn't excuse being an horrible person and it excuses even LESS killing someone. she knew what she did, Nicholas wasn't the first, and if he had the mental capacity to think about it and say no, he wouldn't have been the last. stop pitying on people who are obviously monster. yes what she lived was horrible and i honestly wish that to no one. tons of newborns have died in the hand of people with the same sickness of her mom, it's just horrible. but it doesn't excuse anything of what she'd done. it never will.

I saw this coming.. they based a relationship off of one person being in jail and the other visiting time from time... red flags immediately to anyone who seeks a relationship from someone in jail...she is not socially aware yet.. and won’t be for a while... she needs to stay offline, go to therapy, and try to live a normal life.. she's traumatized enough.. she needs mental help

I have my theories as to why but yeah. Now, I've not had my time of the month two months in a row but the pregnancy tests were all negative. I'm super irregular so I'm going to wait one more month then see my doctor about it. I'm 40 so I'm thinking it's likely menopause.

Fun fact, the book: "If I did it" was actually an asset given to the family of the person OJ killed. They're the reason the "IF" is so small, and hard to see.
OJ tried publishing it to make money then the Goldman family sued for the rights to the book because he already owed them over $30 million from the civil suit. It’s more complicated than that but that’s a simplified version. It wasn’t just gifted to them, is my point. They were initially not going to have it published, but decided to because it was the closest thing to a confession they would get and that is why they made the IF so tiny.

I was in an extremely abusive situation in the past from food poisoning to, being locked in a basement and told i didnt deserve to live. I never once thought to kill my abuser. Infact I told a trusted adult everything with evidence and won in court. YOU DO NOT need to KILL SOMEONE for their wrong doings. Living your life happy and free without them is the harshest revenge. Don’t let hurt people get to you.

The news anchor’s didn’t run the full story for the divorce. Yes some reasons were bc of the snoring and for being a major food hoarder, but also bc of his anger issues and jealousy. Her ex husband didn’t like her visiting her father and step family bc he didn’t like all the time and attention they “ took “ from him. Like sir she’s been in prison for many years, ofc she’s going to visit her family as much as she can. If I read correctly as well her step family and herself had to get a restraining order on him bc of his anger issues as well

That’s from her show where she just got off the phone with her parole officers that she had to leave the state immediately and go back to Louisiana. She was hoping to have fun in Missouri but that would have technically broken her parole and if she stayed she could have gone back to prison. She was upset that her “freedom” didn’t feel “free”.
