My wife and I are lucky to have been friends with Carolyn, she and her band shopped at our Vintage Clothing store in Omaha, She is a darling soul we love her.
Saw her with Mr. Mayall and his other fine gentlemen a few nights ago at the Belly Up. John was wonderful - loved that man for over 50 years now - but she brought the house down and stole the show! A force of nature, that woman is.
Hey there people. I'm almost 64.And I'm so glad I've seen the beginning years of Caroline Wonderland. Mind my words this is just, the beginning...... Later folks.
I used to watch her every tuesday in Houston, it was not uncommon for her to play until 3:00 AM and then she'd come hang out, say high to everyone, on top of being a wonderful muscian, she's just the kindest, most down to earth person in the world. As soon as I fished the above sentence Honey Bee came on. I never realized it was a Billy Joe Shaver song, or maybe I did but forgot about because the Carolyn version is so ingrained in my brain. Nonetheless, I hadn't heard it in about 15 years and I still knew every damn word.
I've seen Caroline a bunch of times, love her voice, playing, writing and style. Just saw her with John Mayall at Bull Run in Shirley , MA ... she killed it, man I like her, if she's playing near you it's not to be missed. Seriously!! I was wicked glad I got to see John one more time too. Don't think I've ever seen him having so much fun preforming, I was hoping he was high. The bass player and drummer were excellent too, you got to be to play in a John Mayall Band. It's an exclusive club that launched many great careers. The bass player kindly & gracefully kept the show on track. It was a great show!! Excellent venue too, Bull Run. Nothing fancy, reasonable ticket prices, good food, great sound, not a bad seat in the house and attracts some of the best local and national touring blues talent going. Caroline is wicked talented, plays a bunch of different instruments and she whistles too, lol. Great Texas Blues.
@@joethurman57 She absolutely is...she used to hang out with Terri Greene a lot and I joined her at some of the jams...She knows me as Bobby Gonzales as do Big Al Beddis and Eric Demmer sax player for "Gatemouth Brown who used to back me up every time I jammed at Dan Electro's
Dogman, little screaming Kenny and the Hightailers, Michael Knust and special forces, Little Joe Washington. If not Dan Electroes it was the Last Concert Cafe
