This is my first wired headphones, have only used cheap earbuds and bluetooth headphones about $10 to $20. Testing this and my old ones are heaven and earth. Heard nothing but praise about FT1 and it's pretty cheap, highly recommend it. Brought me into this rabbit hole of headphones and IEMs
I've had mine for almost a week and I love them. I use them with a Hiby R6 III, and the combo is great for all the genres I'm into. I'm not a big bass head and these have a good thump without being overbearing. Like you I'm usually an IEM user, and it's interesting going from one to the other. Having had the FT1 for a week I just discovered that FIIO has also released the FT1 Pro, an open back planar. Now I want those too 😂
Great review, I too enjoy IEMs and headphones. I am really interested in the FT1 pro, an open back planar set for $200. The buzz around them is very good so far.
I’m so glad I bought these headphones! The Fiio Ft1 is an incredible value for the price. I’m also excited to hear how the FT1 Pro sounds. Oh, and check out the Fiio FP3 for around $90. It’s a great option too!
I'm thinking the 99 classics or Noire (which I believe are supposed to have the same tuning) would be more my jam 🤔 but agreed that these are definitely a bargain at around half the price. Thank you for another great review! 👍
I have the 99 noir and ft1. Compared to then ft1 the 99 noir is muddy and the bass is flabbier. Every time I pick up the noir I am disappointed. I put the ft1 and noir on a multi plug headphone amp designed for studio use and adjusted for equal volume. Theft was noticeably cleaner. I think the ft1 is a headphone I’ll be using a lot. It isn’t the absolute best, but it is easy to live with.
@sherylkatz8827 Thank you for sharing your experience of both models with me. 🙂 Since I'm a basshead, the Noir/Classic just appear to be tuned in a direction more to my taste. I don't mind some mud/bleed. That being said, the quality of bass matters to me too (not just quantity) but there has to be enough of a balance with (more bass than) upper mids and treble for me to really enjoy it.
This headphones already kill k361 value on its price. Even with k371. Fidelio x2 is openback if you comparing it into closeback open back usually has better technicalities especially on soundstage. I have Shp9500 for 3yr, its good headphones for th price if you want neutral openback headphones, its has large soundstage, good depth. Imaging just ok for me. I’m planning to buy FT1 for another headphones for me. Its value on $150 range hard to beat. From build quality, wood design, even its tuning.
@@baaltroth1957 I don’t know why, but I’ve been resistant to trying “flat heads”. Fiio would probably be the best place to start with that, but it might be a while…
@BassDad8 I'm listening with them now. They're comfy and sound good. I eq most earphones and the ff3 is included and they respond very nicely. I got them for like 48 bucks.
Bought them last night. Sometimes I need a break from iem's and I already have many excellent open backs. How is the sound leakage? Sorry if this was covered in the video, but I'm short on time. Bought them from Alie so by the time they get here I'll probably have forgetten I even bought them. It will be a nice surprise.
@@danm203 lol! They’ve gotten a bit better with the shipping. Seller dependent of course. The leakage is minimal as you might imagine vs open backs. There is some through the vents on the topside of the cups, but not a lot.
is there anything in IEM territory around the same price that can compete with FT1..? For example, in terms of all around enjoyment, should someone choose Fiio FT1 over others such as Simgot Supermix 4/EM6L/500LM, TruthEar Nova, Letshuoer S12/S08, CCA Hydro, etc..
@@faisalfirdausiinn4708 there are a ton of good options for IEMs in that range and you named a few that I would definitely recommend. The SM4 is a fantastic set for the price, but accessories are a bit lackluster. As far as bang for the buck, I love the Kinera Celeste Relentless, especially when it’s on sale for around $100. Keep your eye out for it during the upcoming Black Friday sales.
1:09 The Verge recently had a rather interesting video about casset and cd players and why they are bigger and worse these day than back in the day. It includes an interview with the FIIO engineers!
