He feels abandoned not only because the Batch had to flee Kamino without him, but because he discovered they don't share his priorities. He wants control, he wants identity, he wants things to be black and white even though the galaxy is gray. I've always been curious - at what point after his chip was removed did he decide to stay his course with the Empire? Did the whole experience give him any doubts, or just drive home his conviction that this was the only way forward? His first reward for being a good soldier was getting his own squad and his second was having his inhibitor chip removed. Maybe that's why he believed his loyalty would get him places. As Tech said, Crosshair has always been severe and unyielding. There's a reason it took so much friction to finally change his mind.
I really love this one. Seen tons of Bad Batch AMVs, but yours is sticking out so well! First, the dialogue really pushes the theme forward. Not just clips of them talking. You've managed to balance voice-on-scenes as well as actual talking scenes. Driving home the points in an interesting way. Second, the parts where you have back-to-back clips of similar shots (such as 0:50) in group really brings in the impression that they've done/experienced actions multiple times. It drives home they've spent the time at this. That these are not strangers to each other. And it makes this AMV less like so many others that seem to prefer jumping around with those clips so show repetition rather than an emotion punch.
i think friction has always been the best song for impacts in edits. always.
