Thanks so much for this realistic UV bulb change. It's great to see a video where not everything goes perfectly. Seeing what you did with the damp quartz sleeve has given me confidence for my own bulb change tomorrow.
Exact same thing happened with my pondxpert spin clean when changing the 36w bulb that plastic thing smashed and the quartz sleeve was the same i just used a cloth doesnt matter about about that other bit as the bulb stays in place without it
correct me if I'm wrong...but as far as I know when you receive this Filter new, ya supposed to open the UV fitting and take out the plastic fitting tats attached to the bulb inside the UV casing.... those are supposedly meant for protecting the bulb when its shipped from the factory...the thing is tat hard plastic will become brittle and break with heat of the UV bulb......
@@30eesh it's not a point, it's in the instructions diagram you can download online. Plus I have a hozelock bio revolution 14000 and its exactly the same, the instructions tell you to keep it in place.
I just got a pressurized cannister filter with a uv light and i would like to know if or how does a power outage affect it. Is it something i need to worry about because power outages happen quite often where I'm from.
It is so nice, its almost teasing us into spring, The bulb change wasnt too bad to be fair although it cant have been too effective recently given the state of the quartz sleeve.
When I undo the screws and lift the uv light unit out, water gushes out from beneath it - even tho I have the unit turned off, where am I going wrong please?
@@ecosystemkoi9159 thanks for the reply, I have taken the top off as it started leaking I could do with some help if you don’t mind?? I’m having no luck with AllPondSolutions they email once a day, I haven’t had a filter for 3 days now
@@JackTheKnight1 happy to try, best thing you could do is put a short clip on your channel of the problems your having with it, show the leak etc and I will have a look 👍

Thanks, glad it helped 😊 hope your bulb change went well 👍🐟
@@ecosystemkoi9159 It didn't go at all. I discovered I'd got the wrong UV bulb! Correct one arriving later this week.
UV bulb changed :-). Had condensation in the quartz sleeve but 99.9% certain that's all it was. Thanks.
Thanks a lot very helpful, will do mine later this afternoon
Excellent training film. I’d quite happily attempt that myself now! Cheers.
I'm sure this will help a lot of people down the line 👌👍
Thaks mate, thats the Idea, Im surprised at how little info there seems to be for these pressure filters.
@@ecosystemkoi9159 I had the same trouble finding a video on changing my uv bulb, it might be something you could do more videos on (the filter)
Great video, it helped me out, thank you.
Thanks for putting this on help a lot 😅
Thank for that I did mine and did it work and now have to get a new one so your video is goin to be helpful 👌
Glad it helped, I hope you get sorted 👍👍
Looks like a fine day for doing jobs.
Wasn't too bad, got done without getting wet or cold 👍👍🐟

Must be a design floor maybe? All seems to be running fine since the bulb change tho 🐟👍
Hi there fella just subbed up, just changing a uv is good to watch especially if there's a bollock to the dropped! 😂 👍
Thanks, I was anticipating something going wrong but was OK but I will never rule out dropping the odd one 😂😂

That 100% could be the case, it certainly would make sense. Good shout 👏
@@ecosystemkoi9159 cool
@@30eesh The plastic holder down the bottom is supposed to stay there constantly to keep the bulb central.
@@Adam-zq5rw after you've set up the unit in it's right place I don't see any reason the bulb should move about... Your point doesn't make sense...

Hi, never had a problem if power goes out, all you would lose is the UV temporarily until power was restored 👍
Will you recommend this filter
Im thinking to get one
Everything is looking so great my friend.. So nice to see everything back to life.
Those bulbs scare the hell out of me.. Lol

Hi, possibly backflow, depends where your filter is in relation to the water level., but only a guess 🤷♂️
@@ecosystemkoi9159 Thanks, my filter sits about 2 feet from the pond and it would be slightly lower than that level of water in the pond.
My bulb flashes red and beeps intermittently can you tell me is this normal? I can’t find anything on this.
Not something I've come across but doesn't sound right at all.
