I have been battling my toilet over a year, with help from you, my issue is solved in less than 5 minutes!! God bless you Sir! I greatly appreciate you!!
I didn't I think I could do this myself but I followed your video here n actually put the bolt on w the washer n it totally worked out great. I'm so glad you had this video. I was determined to at least try it myself without having to call a handyman who would have charged me me at $50.00 if not more. Thank you so much. God bless you.
10-20-24 VERY HELPFUL. ONE suggestion: It looks like you turned the left hinge to your left to tighten and the right screw hinge to your right. Is that correct?
I’m a first time home owner- I can’t thank you enough for helping me solve such a basic problem that I’ve never had to deal with on my own. I’m sure I will be coming to you with more ?’s as time goes on!! 🙏🏼💜
Chris, I am a 22 year old individual who has had a broken toilet for a couple months and I cannot believe I found your video after all this time because I finally bothered to look it up and your video was the first that popped up. Thank you for making it simple and short. My toilet is fixed now. So thank you. You have no idea how happy I am right now.
This was definitely helpful. House sitting for a friend and one of the things that needed to be fixed was the toilet seat. I was able to fix it under 5 minutes, very helpful!
Lol we've been dealing with this for a ridiculous amount of time before I decided to try to fix it. Led me to this video and was fixed in 20 seconds 😂 Thanks so much!
Thanks! This is amazingly easy. I will buy the pieces now. Please make a video about how to install a curtain rod. Mine keep falling out of the wall, maybe I am not using the right screws?
Omgg I had a loose toilet but they literally just changed and fix my screws and I watched this video one time I twisted them tight with my bare hands , and it work thanks ❤
I used the metal bolts since the plastic bole that came with the toilet seat broke. However, the directions does not say where the washer goes. I put it on the bottom. Should it have been installed on top of the seat hinged to the toilet instead of the bottom?
I tried tightening the seat on my American Standard toilet, but the nut that's jammed into the rubber gasket came out when I pulled the bolt off! I tried pushing it back in but now it's slanted and I can't screw the bolt in :( Any ideas?
makes you wonder how people did anything before the internet haha. I feel so dumb for thinking this was going to be hard to fix, never would have guessed it was this easy :)
Yeah they do eventually loosen, but I haven‘t had any loosen as fast as yours. A better solution, but a little more expensive is one of the soft close toilet seats. At least the ones I‘ve used have an attachment point that never loosens. You quite literally tighten it until the head pops off. Then it just never loosens, at least the ones I’ve done never have. It‘s $30 to $40 for one of those seats. I have another video installing one of them if you need an exact brand. I talk about it in that video. Anyway, thanks for watching!
Good video. To the uninitiated: The nuts in the package are on backwards. You want to reverse them so the fluted (sloped) edge is against the toilet. May the guy who designed this replacement bolt rot. (I just pulled the remaining unbroken of this type from my toilet. They do not unscrew. The plastic slot is inadequate - breaking is the usual solution. Maybe a matching slot head is up to the task. Have you seen the price of oddball tools lately?
Thank you! Thank you! I had already bought the replacement bolts, & thought they were on upside down, but both directions worked. Have been looking at all videos, but nobody addressed this. Including this one. I am shall we say challenged at this type work, so thank you @Shalmaneser1 for clearing this up for me.
@@loragarver2856 FWIW: They sent me a pair of metal bolts & nuts without charge. I'm guessing that they may be fine-tuning their engineering. (hoping, really) Seems Microsoft isn't the only one using the public as guinea pigs.
Yep. Easy as that, unless you have metal bolts that won’t turn even after soaking in WD40 for two days. Then what? I can change out a toilet seat, no problem, but these bolts are boogers!!
I have been battling my toilet over a year, with help from you, my issue is solved in less than 5 minutes!! God bless you Sir! I greatly appreciate you!!
I’m a single mom with no family anywhere close and this really helped me
Well, I’m glad to hear it was helpful for you!

Thank you I have been annoyed with my stupid loose toilet seat for ages and didn't realize the fix was this easy.

Awesome, thanks for posting! I was trying to fasten the cap that snaps up instead of the bolt and was driving myself crazy 🤣
Thanks so much! I thought I was going to have to hire a handyman but this seems simple.
My toilet seat has been like this since I moved in, assumed I was gonna have to buy another. Thanks for saving me $$$!!
Lol we've been dealing with this for a ridiculous amount of time before I decided to try to fix it. Led me to this video and was fixed in 20 seconds 😂 Thanks so much!

Omgg I had a loose toilet but they literally just changed and fix my screws and I watched this video one time I twisted them tight with my bare hands , and it work thanks ❤

Would expanding toilet seat bolts work with this type of seat hinge?
Thank you. I sure was wondering how to take it off . Appreciate it🥰
Thanks man. Finishing work now, gonna try it once I get home. Cheers, always glad to learn something new.
I needed this information thank you!
this is helpful thanks!
Was able to fix mine, thanks!
Why do they come loose and still end up with a dancing seat ? I have to keep tightening regularly. Anything that stops them coming loose?
Thank you thank thank you !
watched 20 secs and fixed the issue, you're a hero good sir
Glad it helped!
how do you fix toilet seat cap hinges that never stay down/always pop up?
Thanks!
Great easy video. But from other videos I have seen-----most all say it will just become loose again in a month or two.
Thanks I forgot about the bolt underneath I just had to tighten it.
Straight to the point thanks man
Thank you so much for the video, I found a plastic round thing on the floor and had no idea where it came from or where it went, now I know!
Best direct tutorial ever
Thank You! Very helpful! 😊
Perfect! Straight to the point. TY👍
thank you! super helpful, it’s finally fixed :)

Brand new construction . One side tight . How do I get the bolt out . I pulled on it . I tried to unscrew it of course it is just loose .

I tried that and two weeks later, loose again! I tightened it super tight too!

Wow thanks.
Gud information
Our toilet don't have those screws. We have to use a wrench to loosen the bottom screws!
mine still shaking a little after the fix
I can’t take the nut off of my old toilet seat screws. What should I do?
Good video.

Toilets are all different, mine don't fix easily like that. The bolts aren't even lose and the seats move.
Those are bolts, not hinges. What if the hinge breaks
These bolts are too big for mine. Apparently there’s no standard
Don't get the plastic ones..
👍🏼
👍🏻
i watch this and feel sad your wife break tolet seat you fix so often
I HAD NO IDEA THERE WERE THINGS ON THE BOTTOM HUH
If only every toilet seat hinged like this lol
The problem is that they ALL LOOSEN UP VERY QUICKLY! And your back under the toilet seat smh!
my toilet seat is diffrent
