    Actually, it's not the companies that hate each other; it's the people who use their devices who hate each other.

      Nah the companies started the war, we wouldn't be having the hate if Apple and Samsung didn't make any ads that bashes each other 🙄
      Edit: Jokes or not, they sow the seed, the ground zero foundation. Every companies are as good/ bad as any others. They only care about maximizing the profits, and they're definitely *not* our friend. Though one can be less predatory compared to the others because competition exists

      The issue is that Apple doesn't care about having an opponent.
      If they have a rival, they'll just ask Trump to block that.
      They want Google Services because they can't achieve a proprietary web search engine. It will be even behind Bing.
      They even want to stop again Huawei "because they have a proprietary OS". WTF. They've said they don't want them to use Google services, then they've said they don't want them to NOT use Google Services.
      This news just felt like Americans like to praise their government, when in reality they are perhaps not any better than the others...

    • @Earthrise-fusion
      @Earthrise-fusion 8 months ago

      @josh44026 the reason of this is because Apple forces companies to use API's like webkit for google. That's why the google app is better on iPhone than on pixel (subjective). This is imo because it isn't split into two apps which is SOO annoying on my pixel 8a (affectionately called the SpongeBob phone).

    Just to clarify for anyone interested. Samsung Mobile (which makes Galaxy phones) and Samsung Display (which makes screens) are two different divisions within the larger Samsung group. Samsung Mobile competes directly with Apple, but Samsung Display is actually a supplier and does not compete with Apple, it sells display panels to Apple and many other companies. Even within Samsung, the display division sells its screens to the mobile division, they don’t just hand them over for free.

      @hyeong4893 Actually, Samsung is not a single company. It is a conglomerate called Samsung Group made up of many independent companies like Samsung Electronics, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung Life Insurance, and others. When people say ‘Samsung’ they are informally referring to the whole group, but legally and financially each company is separate. For example, Samsung Electronics is the company behind smartphones, chips, and displays. It is the one you can actually invest in, and it operates independently from Samsung Heavy Industries or Samsung Life. The divisions inside Samsung Electronics like Samsung Display or Samsung Foundry are meant to focus the business, but they still belong within Samsung Electronics. So it is not just about making more profit, it is about managing a huge global business effectively.

      "partnership" covered in the video is the reason why smarpthone market is stagnating, there was nothing new on smartphones last 3-4 years. slightly better cpu but that's about it. three giants working alongside at trying to squeeze out other competitions - this is in fact a monopoly.

    • @mii7s
      @mii7s 8 months ago +24

      @StopMediaFakery how are they dominant? apple and google are huge companies, samsung isn't as big, but they are getting there
      the thing is, google makes money from ads, so they need all these other stuff but that's not what they are making money from
      Apple sells so much that it's a time waste for them to not use suppliers, they can sell at these high numbers because they have different suppliers for different things
      The relationship between Samsung and Apple, it's Samsung who will lose more if that deal goes away, one of the largest companies, Intel is on its way to bankruptcy because they couldn't adapt once Apple started making their own chips

    • @GetRecht
      @GetRecht 7 months ago +1

      @Feliks_WR Which is why I say it's more of a preference thing because yes android has the freedom to do those kinds of things but your average person isn't really going to use those features. The vast majority of pipeline I know use androids and not one of them has ever even downloaded an APK, Instead of being able to download an APKI would rather have a phone that can git updates for a way longer.

    This kind of thing happens in so many industries. I used to be a mail carrier, and one of the things that surprised me was how closely the US Postal Service collaborates with FedEx and UPS. FedEx and UPS are very good at cheaply transporting packages long distances. And the Postal Service is very good at cheaply delivering the last mile. So both UPS and FedEx have services (UPS SurePost and FedEx SmartPost) where they deliver a package to the recipient's local post office, and the Postal Service delivers it from there. And the Postal Service, which doesn't own any aircraft themselves, has contracted with both FedEx and UPS to provide air transport for their packages.

      Their relationship is not as symbiotic between them as the one in this video, and I'd argue they rely on other companies more than between them. They are actually competing between them from the payments for exclusivity of certain titles to not being able to use, for example, an xbox controller in a Nintendo switch without an adapter.

      and then you have xiaomi and huawei laughing in the corner... Xiaomi makes their own displays and basically every other component except for snapdragon chips which they buy from taiwan. Funny how Google, Samsung and Apple need eachother but many chinese brands just sit in the corner laughing cuz well, if android dies, they have huawei harmony OS (based on stolen android code XD) and pretty much every other component they just make, huawei has facilities that produce chips so china trully is independant.

  • @YassineSaïdi
    @YassineSaïdi 8 months ago +76

    1:45. - Not to mention that in order for Samsung displays to be economically viable at the price they want, they NEED to have customers such as Apple in order to build enough capacity and enough economies of scale. If they stopped producing for Apple, that would make their screens more expensive to make per unit, so eat into their profits.

    • @Gabriel_1812
      @Gabriel_1812 6 months ago +1

      This is not a question of viability, but rather of apple investing in samsung's innovations, and if samsung does not supply such displays, then in the end sales will increase, and therefore profits. If you think that apple or samsung themselves invest in new technologies, then you are mistaken. Every product purchased is an investment by the user in a new generation of devices.

    • @YassineSaïdi
      @YassineSaïdi 6 months ago +1

    In 2023 Samsung tried to ban all aftermarket OLEDs from being imported into the US, which would've crippled the phone repair industry since nearly every phone uses their displays. Thankfully they failed to do it, but still scary what happens when 1 company has so much control.

      Probably you won't see my reply, but I'll still say it. They have so much control in the display market because their displays are so good. But the problem is that if another company tries to rise in the display market, they will probably try to shut it down if they see it as a threat. Because there is virtually no competition, they would increase prices as they please, and if they were successful in banning all aftermarket displays, their profit margins would be skyrocketed.

      A year ago I would’ve agreed, I’d go to great lengths to keep using google search. However lately idk man, I’ve been feeling pretty frustrated with it, like with all the SEO and bullshit articles, long lists of sponsored results, that it feels like a 1/3rd of my searches include “Reddit” at the end anyways, and that I can’t search through memes easily (like searching for an Instagram reel or TikTok I saw a few months ago, which I AM able to do with a RUclips video) I’m starting to get fed up with google search!

    What’s crazy to me is how valuable those searches are. We all know the saying “if something is free, then you’re the product” and I guess Google has figured out the number of how much that’s worth to them. Apparently more than $20B, or roughly $15 per iPhone user per year.

      It's part of the revenue Google makes from searches on iOS and as far as I know Apple has an agreement like this with all the search providers available on iOS. The number that's being thrown around is 36% of the revenue this shows how much money Google makes from iOS users.
