Thanks for such a good video. Very gratifying to see this building now conserved after some of us stirred it up years ago to get it preserved when it was badly neglected and in danger of collapsing into the adjoiniing shaft. Perhaps not as impressive nor as historic as this one at Shildon but there are a few other engine houses in the Northern Pennines.
I’m just glad I remembered before I walked all the way there, left the car in the village so wouldn’t be in shot. Old drone would only climb 20ft internally without a gps signal so never got internal footage. You can see how windy it was during the internal shot. As it passes the top of the window, it didn’t have gps lock and you can see the video wobble as the wind hit it through the side window. Proximity sensor alarms were going off constantly lol
@@UKAbandonedMineExplores no doubt! Most folk don’t grasp the work/ time it takes to edit and capture the footage 👍 And you guys have awesome material. To film above and below ground !!! I know you will but I’ll say it nonetheless keep up the excellent work & production values ✌️🤙
That was just an amazing video with fantastic drone work. So many days I do wish I had been around to see these amazing buildings and well designed machinery in action. At work two weeks ago I have just built a stone perimeter 4' high x 14" deep x 16 long wall with reclaimed York Stone and copings. Each piece of stone I had to clean redress and faceup, the number of people whom stopped and commented on my work with some saying that you don't see many people whom know how to do that. I have used lime motar so not your new cement motar method either!
I knew pretty quickly the music was Scott Buckley. It’s unbelievable that it’s CC. That aside, it’s a fitting tribute to those times long ago when the hills rumbled with industry and men battled with the earth.
Absolutely brilliant mate thank you 👍 And 11/10 for getting a video out even though things conspired against you I wouldn't have minded if you couldn't do it and anyone who would have can kiss my rusty bullet hole Superb And thank you again
Lol, thanks, it was hit and miss. Things conspired even more, I drove the 10 miles there, got out, started walking up to it and realised I'd forgotten the drone's sd card. So had to go back home and drive there again lol
That is a beautiful building. Great footage 👍
Thanks very much Martin :)
Wonderful Ste
Cheers Keith :)

Yes, there is a diagram nearby that shows how the engine worked, it was huge.ooh nice, wonder where the stone came from?
The stone came from a mill that had been recently demolished in Bradford the supplier told me
Absolutely stunning drone footage! Beautiful relic from the industrial revolution. 😊❤
Thankyou :)
Was it a beam engine water pump? These are just amazing pieces of engineering and a mind-blowing size
I believe so, yes.
Superb.
Thanks Kevin :)

@@UKAbandonedMineExplores your efforts were definitely worth and appreciated, Sir
The club I am in uncovered the shaft at this engine house and put a proper cap on it about 12 to 14 years ago, before landscaping the area.
Ahh, your the bugger who did that ;) I'll message you :)
Massive ❤
Excellent film making.
