Julie Andrews Has One The Most Pure & Lyrical Soprano Voices Ever! I Grew Up Listening To Dame Julie Andrews. I’m Still Saddened By The Loss Of Her Voice By A Botched Surgery. However, I Look Forward To Hearing Her Celestial Voice Again In Heaven.

She's so classy ... so articulate ... and she makes this interview work, because Larry King's questions often reveal the fact he didn't do his homework; it appears he didn't familiarize himself with the arc of her career before the interview was done.

Her concerts in Japan were all sold out within a day of being released. She really has some HUGE fan base in Japan. She also sings a song or two in Japanese in her concerts. I believe it was called "Sakura" and "Do-re-me" were both sung in Japanese by her.

Unless I'm mistaken, the orchestrations for the Andrews/Kingsley recording of "The King and I" were drawn from those of the motion-picture score, not newly done, despite what Larry King says during one of the breaks.

Yes, Mauceri used the orchestrations from the '56 movie version.
