Thanks for the review. I own both and out of the box Origin has wider soundstage and the bass is more textured vs mk3 for me. I love how you got into details and break down different parts of the graph, was very informative, I dont see this kind of technical breakdown from other reviewers. Keep up to the good work, subscribed! I would love to try your PEQ for both IEMS, would greatly appreciate if you could share so I can hear what you are describing. Cheers!
Nice video detailing the differences between the origin and mk3. The even better value and comparison yet to be made is when you put the Hype 4 against the Monarch mk3. I owned both, and the tuning is nearly the same. Even though you get more detail out from the mk3, in my opinion, the hype 4 for $379 gets you about 90% or more of the mk3.
Appreciate the comparison. Been debating on getting an Origin to add to my collection but been unsure since already have a Monarch MKIII Just out of curiosity. What are you using for a mic to record videos? Found a lot of variation in tone and loudness.
@@dtdcampbell my bad on this one for the recording. New format using PPT and had to angle the go pro up more. Pushed my Sennheiser mic close to my mouth. Fixed it for the next one.
Enjoy the different format. Monarch MKIII is my favorite all-around IEM in my collection. They handle most of my library very well. They prompt me to experiment with niche IEMs to compliment them. (Quintet, for example) Really intrigued by the Aful Cantor for the technical performance, but there are so many stories about poor fitment. Also, I see the Pilgrim Noir on a big sale, but do they have anything special to their sound signature? Any recs would be great. Great job. Subbed.
So by eqing it you can achieve better bass or the same as the origin? I have the monarch mk3 and can’t decide if I should upgrade. I’m guessing by off your rating that if you had to choose one it’d be the monarchs?
@@Bring_On_The_Bass you're a bone conduction guy. As am I. Between this, the BGVP Phantom, Kinera Verdandi and the TSMR Shock, I think I like this one best. Need to complete some side by sides against its peers. The MMKIII isn't really a peer. It's a big brother
Loved the sound of the Origin but those shells are way too large. Couldn't listen for more than 5 minutes at a time. Very sad as they punch way over the asking price,.
@@Ge0vasny if you want smaller shells with BCD the Penon Fan3 is good at $300 and the BGVP Phantom is good at around $800. The Phantoms are VERY small and comfortable

Thank you! Love this one.
The monark mk3 settings that he created are amazing made my monarch sound so much better.
Do you know if it’ll sound like his tuning if I used his peq with the q5k?
I would love to have the Monark MK3 setting that you have, also if its possible to have them for wavelet also. For android used with my dap.

@@Ducbloke Can you tell me the size comparison between the Thieaudio Monarch MKIII and the Origin? Which one is bigger?
I might not understand everything but I sure learn a few things with each of your vids THANKS
@@PeterLathourakis thanks Peter
Nice comparison review. I sold the Monarch MK3 because of the outer shell was too chunky and uncomfortable to wear it. Is Origin smaller?
@@mikelim1894 nope. Same size. Smaller try Phantom
Thieaudio Prestige LTD + EQ. God tier 😁
Been wanting to hear the Prestige
Have heard both at canjam and I agree w ur assessment. How do these compare to shock?
I'll do that next. A BCD shootout with Shock and Phantom
OMG
I feel like I just got a PhD
I’m buying an Origin
