Enjoyed this interview. We met Mr Patterson at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park. My husband and I are campers (RV) and we also enjoy NC’s State Parks. We take the opportunity to share our travels with others as often as we can.
I honestly didn't realize black people went camping. The first time I went was in the Army and they gassed us. I still loved being out there. I'm getting ready to take my son end of May and I'm a widow so it's just us but we're going! We have camped in my room and the living room and as soon as weather permits we'll camp in the backyard just to make sure I have everything we're gonna need. I'm in central Indiana. Are there any meet ups out here?
