FDNY Battles Hard to Reach 2 Alarm Truck Fire in East Williamsburg

    FDNY On Scene Brooklyn 2nd Alarm Box 291 *77-22-0291* 1290 Metropolitan Ave @ Gardner Ave. Multiple Trucks on Fire Adjacent to a 1 Story Warehouse in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. 1/6/21
    New York City Fire Department Units Responded to 1717 Troutman St (Box 736) to Reports of Smoke from a Warehouse Around 11:30pm. On Arrival Members Noticed a Column of Smoke Showing Further Down in the distance and Notified Brooklyn Dispatch to See if they Could Track it Down with Any Other Calls Coming In From Either Boroughs. As Units Searched the Surrounding Streets, Tower Ladder 124 Notified the Battalion Chief of Smoke in the Area Near Scholes and Gardner. As Units Started to Respond to L124s Location, Calls Started to Come in of a Fire at that Location and Box 291 was Transmitted.
    On Arrival at the New Location, Smoke was Pushing from the Rear of a Warehouse and the 10-75 (Working Fire Signal) was Transmitted. As Members Searched for the main source of the Smoke The All Hands Signal was Transmitted and After a Tower Ladder was Put Up Members were Able to Locate the Source, A Pair of Trucks in the Rear of One of the Warehouses. With The Source now Located, Members Started Cutting Multiple Rolldown Gates to Gain Better Access to the Fire. Upon Reaching the Main the Body of Fire, Several Trucks were now on Fire in an Open Lot with No Extension to the Building.
    By 1am All Visible Fire had Been Knocked Down and Around 1:30am a 2nd Alarm was Transmitted for Relief Purposes with Additional Trucks Called in due to Extensive Overhaul. The Incident was Placed Under Control Shortly Before 2am with a 10-41 Being transmitted. Fire Marshalls Responded to the Scene and the Cause of the Fire is Under Investigation.
