I mean just use gewehr 95 marksman its a level 2 unlock and its better than martini for cqb . 95 doesn't even pull away after a shot but 5 and had 3 times faster rate of fire 1 hit kills in sweet spot and headshots are good at any range . Now why would anyone level up their scout class now. Even before the update i was rarely killed by the martini like one in 40 deaths was caused by martini . Tried using it last night and the nerf is really noticeable imo. I didn't enjoy using it all that much prior to the nerf anyway as the muzzle velocity is just too slow for me personally.
Kyle Beals Because getting a OHK for hitting someone practically anywhere within 30-80 meters doesn't count as skill, imo. They haven't made any changes to the accuracy. The only change is the damage modifiers, so you now don't get OHKs for every hit within the sweetspot range.
Since the Martini is black powder it should have a lot of smoke coming out (that's what black powder produces). So instead of making it weaker they should've just added smoke to blur the vision a little.

Rocket Ship 27 it's not even a sniper rifle lmao. The mkIII has a better sweet spot, actually holds ammo, has a sight option, faster muzzle velocity, and a much faster fire rate. Nobody complains about it because you can be a dogshit player and still have it unlocked.

I'm probably getting killed the least by the martini henry or sniper class in general but people are complaining at such a high rate about anything, most likely just because they ain't good with it. If they were good at it or play it regularly, they would've known it's not op at all.

It sucks so much because except for the hellriegel the martini was the only weapon that was really worth it as a lvl10 weapon because it was rewarding, challenging and fun playing with it (not to mention the sound of it) but now that's not really the case anymore. Given the general lack of progress and the for most parts bad lvl 10 weapons, this patch made it even worse. I don't even want to think about the fact that we are only going to get 20 new guns in total the next few years. The game is so much fun, it would be a shame if the lack of content will ruin it..

It has been nerfed to the point where it is useless, the smle almost has the same sweet spot and it has way more ammo and a better velocity, there is no reason to use this level 10 gun over the level 1 gun. Absolutely no reason at all
What gets to me about this nerf is that the weapon is a challenge to use, especially on console. It's essentially a risk and reward weapon to use, you have to reload after EVERY shot, also you are limited to iron sights only. To me it's nonsensical to nerf the Henry when there is still so many things in the game that should of took priority over instead of weapon balancing of a single fire rifle. Also Levelcap is spot on with the battle pack system, maybe instead of rewarding players with 5000xp upon completion of certain medals, why not reward them with certain weapon skins??

Literally all class lvl 10 guns are useless. I grinded for all 4 classes and they nerf the 2 good ones & the huot and 1906 are a JOKE. Huot shoots slower, longer reload and has a quicker damage drop than the BAR, why would you ever use it over the BAR?! I'm keeping the game for the DLCs but im just right back to r6 siege.
Jakob With a K even with all the hate towards the 1906, it's still a 3 shot that's got pretty manageable recoil, so your grouping is nice. having to reload after each engagement is a pain but the gun still works fine its not completely useless

Ryan Allen Is it just me or when tracking a medal do you actually have to go in order? because I was running a support one where the first challenge was get 20 kills as support. I achieved it and was trying to get the last challenge, which was get 5 kills as support in one life. I felt I doubled that with close to a 10 streak in one life but it didn't track my progress, pretty stupid if you ask me.

the martinin shouldnt have been nerfed, but i think the sweet spot should be moved, to 20 yards -65 yards. if it were one shot in these ranges it would be better. 30-80 is dumb, 80 is pretty hard to hit, the bullet is slow
no i want it to be more realistic. that bullet which is a 577/450 paper round shoots very slowly. it like 800 grains or something (please dont qoute that i have no idea other than what round it is) it should be one shot at close range, it only has one bullet, and in CC if you dont kill that person with it youre dead. and pistols cant outgun an automatic gun. because its slow, it should do less damage the further it travels. it should be an aggresive snipers weapon of choice.
Your just trash lmao. Cant hit a target at 80m. The bullet velocity isn't that slow that it becomes a challenge to hit a moving target at 80m. They had the right idea for this nerf they just did it very poorly. I always went top of the leaderboard with the martini because i was good and it was a bit cheesy before the patch. Shooting someone in the leg to get a one shot kill is ridiculous but the fact that now a players arm is a shield for their upper body is also dumb. They need to get rid of the arm multiplyers for snipers. If they do that then the martini is balanced.
but irl the arms and legs are shields for the shooter. If you check the proper posture for a shooter is with the elbows down and close to chest so the triangle it forms may, or may not, help to stop a bullet... realistically speaking, the Martini-Henry was only used by balloon observers and zeps busters, with incendiary rounds, which I would love to see as a gadget similar to the K bullet. now a 31 grains and .577 bullet flying at a speed of 1,350 ft/s, is not that amazing, it does pack a punch but it lacks penetration.

Nerf the grenades (gas grenades in particularly and amount of antitank grenades in assault class) Add an AA gun in the first sector of ballroom blitz for the German defence in operations.
Good vid again LC. One thing I absolutely agree on is the Battlepack system. DICE really dropped the ball for me on this. I was playing with my squad last night and this is something all of us agreed on: make it a progression system, if you put in the miles and know what your working for it will be much more fun and oh so much more rewarding. The chance system sucks and too make it worse is that I've got 5 of the same skins on certain weapons...I mean if you really wanna stick to the damned chance system at least give me different things every time.

Edris Ahmed this game isn't strictly based off of reality. Otherwise the medic class would be severely overpowered as well as the support class for unlimited healing and ammo respectively. There is no bleeding mechanic either which would definitely be a factor. It's just a game though. No one promised the gun would work like it does in real life. If you don't like it anymore, use another gun!
I thought something was up when kills I normally get weren't happening. I have also noticed a change in the mechanics of velocity and bullet drop. There have been dozens of times I had my sights sitting perfectly on someone standing still and pulled the trigger expecting the kills I used to get pre patch and it doesn't happen. I get the painfully slow muzzle velocity means people can move out of the way but still its gotten so bad I stopped using it.
My question remains though: Was this nerf even necessary? Was there any real need to patch this gun or was DICE just pandering to a loud whiny demographic?
Although Im unsure as to whether this weapon should have been nerfed, the argument 'It's a level 10 weapon, it should be powerful' is invalid. Getting to level 10 requires no skill, just play time. Almost everyone has got level 10 in at least one class now. Again, we are seeing balance issues in a game not because they were balanced poorly before release, but because there is a lack of content in the game so everyone uses the same gun or gadget - making the said item seem overpowered, when in reality it is just overused.

My suggestion for the Martini Henry: 1. Revert the damage calc to pre-nerf settings. 2. Make 1/3 shots "hang fire" for realism with the Martini. For those not wanting to google what a hang fire is, it is when a weapon has a split second delay in firing after the trigger has been pulled. This is caused due to a bad primer. This was a very common occurrence on the Martini.

People need to stop calling it a nerf. It was a fix. If the Hellreigel was 1-shotting people in any part of the body and DICE later patched it so it performed like it currently does in-game, you wouldn't say it was nerfed; you'd say it was fixed because it's pretty obvious the Hellreigel wasn't supposed to perform that way. The same goes for the Martini. It _didn't have body part multipliers._ Literally every other gun in the game does. It was clearly not supposed to function that way, so they fixed it. Is it less powerful now? Yes. That doesn't mean it was nerfed. Nerfing implies deliberacy in the original iteration.
I used to main this gun, and it is usleless (to me) right now. I used to get a lot of kills with it on medium range maps (For example: Amiens) but now I only get 50% of those kills. I just went back to the old MKIII because why would you have a gun with HALF of the muzzle velocity of normal rifles, and why would you have 1 bullet, when you can have 10 bullets with the MKIII, FOR ONLY A 10m SWEETSPOT RANGE DIFFERENCE? I think this nerf was REALLY unecesarry and was only implemented, because of some kiddos bitchin about the scout class...
What I want from the next patch: -DMRs should be able to do a 1 headshot+ 1 bodyshot for a kill -Add back in weapon-specific battle packs (Each time you get a service star or so you get a pack of skins just for that weapon) so you get skins for guns you actually use -Fix the arm-shot thing talked about in the vid -remove the random innaccuracy from suppression, so a skilled player can compensate for the increased scope sway and still land accurate shots -Make the Selb 1906 a 2 shot out to like 35 meters or so -Buff the Huot for a 4 shot kill out to like 25 meters or so -Reduce gas capacity to 1 grenade -Nerf AA against infantry or limit how low they can aim -Add back in revolver 1 headshot=kill -Make the slug shotgun actually so consistent damage and increase accuracy
Not sure why your dragging COD down, at least they have achievement based weapon skins that show your proficiency with guns and classes. If anything bf has the worse system with having battle packs being the ONLY way to get skins. You can't even buy gold/diamond/dark matter/black sky in COD whereas you literally have to buy to get skins in BF1. Don't get me wrong I love BF1 and it feels like I'm back playing Bad Company 2 but I can't deny COD has better achievement based camo, customisation and battle pack/ supply drop rates.
Honestly this weapon alone made the entire BF1 experience 100% better for me. BF1 will forever be one of the only Multiplayer games I actually enjoyed by myself just because of the martini henry. (Considering my entire friend group moved on from these shooters and started playing strategy games...)
battlepacks: I burned 15 legendaries in a failed attempt to get the Martini-Henry Massoka skin (9 Frommer stop and 6 Huots). that's unreasonable. if they must persist with this broken system, there at least should be a guarantee that after e.g. 5 legendary packs the remaining skin you don't have is awarded. don't leave it to chance. I will never buy packs, I don't want to encourage them. I had saved up my scraps since the start of the game until attempt such as this was necessary. still failed!
The support level 10 unlock gun isn't the best lmg either. I wouldn't place the Huot top3 for support guns either, so welcome to the club, snipers :). I get thet alot of people like the gun, though i havent used it myself but certainly there is a reason for DICE nerfing it. I thought it was over-used at first but someone told me the reason martini-henry did so well because it wasn't supposed to do this much damage all over the body in the first place?
Used the weapon a lot and loved it. What piss me off are comments like " aim the head lul". if you listened the video, the major complain is it's inconsistency now. I can aim perfectly the upper torso in the sweet spot range , but because of the lack of scope and the slow velocity you can't predict the arm placement. It just become luck if the arm is in the way or not, which is utter bullshit. And for the 'aim the head" all snipers can do that...with more velocity, more bullets, more rate of fire and more precision. So gtfo with this argument
I see no point in playing with this weapon unless you just do it for fun and style (and the cool sound that it makes) Why? Because it doesn't have a scope, You need to be relatively close to your enemies in order to be in the sweet-spot range, and chances are most of your hits are going to be hit markers, Which means you are better off just using a normal sniper with a scope... At least you can shoot from a safer distance, it's easier to aim with a scope, plus the reload speeds are going to be much quicker. I tried to play with the martini henry but i only kept getting hit markers, it was much more difficult to aim with it's iron sights and also I kept getting rushed by enemies that were just too close to me.
The martini bullet is a HUGE chunk of metal. About 5x that of other bullets in the game. It's not gonna give 2 shits about your arm it's gonna blow a hole right through you, it needs to be un nerfed IMO.

here lemme ask you this the bar is a 30-06 30 cal rifle... this thing is a full auto lee enfeild yet it does 20 damage and the lee does like 70 to 100, i think that the scout guns should not have a sweet spot but the martini and should do much less damage. like a scout shoots me for 90 damage and pulls out a secondary and kills me faster than my bar so fucking hell nerf them

Tried using it last night and the nerf is really noticeable imo. I didn't enjoy using it all that much prior to the nerf anyway as the muzzle velocity is just too slow for me personally.

They haven't made any changes to the accuracy. The only change is the damage modifiers, so you now don't get OHKs for every hit within the sweetspot range.

I'm probably getting killed the least by the martini henry or sniper class in general but people are complaining at such a high rate about anything, most likely just because they ain't good with it. If they were good at it or play it regularly, they would've known it's not op at all.

It sucks so much because except for the hellriegel the martini was the only weapon that was really worth it as a lvl10 weapon because it was rewarding, challenging and fun playing with it (not to mention the sound of it) but now that's not really the case anymore. Given the general lack of progress and the for most parts bad lvl 10 weapons, this patch made it even worse. I don't even want to think about the fact that we are only going to get 20 new guns in total the next few years. The game is so much fun, it would be a shame if the lack of content will ruin it..

It has been nerfed to the point where it is useless, the smle almost has the same sweet spot and it has way more ammo and a better velocity, there is no reason to use this level 10 gun over the level 1 gun. Absolutely no reason at all
What gets to me about this nerf is that the weapon is a challenge to use, especially on console.
It's essentially a risk and reward weapon to use, you have to reload after EVERY shot, also you are limited to iron sights only.
To me it's nonsensical to nerf the Henry when there is still so many things in the game that should of took priority over instead of weapon balancing of a single fire rifle.
Also Levelcap is spot on with the battle pack system, maybe instead of rewarding players with 5000xp upon completion of certain medals, why not reward them with certain weapon skins??

Literally all class lvl 10 guns are useless. I grinded for all 4 classes and they nerf the 2 good ones & the huot and 1906 are a JOKE. Huot shoots slower, longer reload and has a quicker damage drop than the BAR, why would you ever use it over the BAR?! I'm keeping the game for the DLCs but im just right back to r6 siege.

I achieved it and was trying to get the last challenge, which was get 5 kills as support in one life. I felt I doubled that with close to a 10 streak in one life but it didn't track my progress, pretty stupid if you ask me.

the martinin shouldnt have been nerfed, but i think the sweet spot should be moved, to 20 yards -65 yards. if it were one shot in these ranges it would be better. 30-80 is dumb, 80 is pretty hard to hit, the bullet is slow

no i want it to be more realistic. that bullet which is a 577/450 paper round shoots very slowly. it like 800 grains or something (please dont qoute that i have no idea other than what round it is) it should be one shot at close range, it only has one bullet, and in CC if you dont kill that person with it youre dead. and pistols cant outgun an automatic gun. because its slow, it should do less damage the further it travels. it should be an aggresive snipers weapon of choice.

Your just trash lmao. Cant hit a target at 80m. The bullet velocity isn't that slow that it becomes a challenge to hit a moving target at 80m. They had the right idea for this nerf they just did it very poorly. I always went top of the leaderboard with the martini because i was good and it was a bit cheesy before the patch. Shooting someone in the leg to get a one shot kill is ridiculous but the fact that now a players arm is a shield for their upper body is also dumb. They need to get rid of the arm multiplyers for snipers. If they do that then the martini is balanced.
but irl the arms and legs are shields for the shooter. If you check the proper posture for a shooter is with the elbows down and close to chest so the triangle it forms may, or may not, help to stop a bullet...
realistically speaking, the Martini-Henry was only used by balloon observers and zeps busters, with incendiary rounds, which I would love to see as a gadget similar to the K bullet.
now a 31 grains and .577 bullet flying at a speed of 1,350 ft/s, is not that amazing, it does pack a punch but it lacks penetration.

I was playing with my squad last night and this is something all of us agreed on: make it a progression system, if you put in the miles and know what your working for it will be much more fun and oh so much more rewarding. The chance system sucks and too make it worse is that I've got 5 of the same skins on certain weapons...I mean if you really wanna stick to the damned chance system at least give me different things every time.

Edris Ahmed this game isn't strictly based off of reality. Otherwise the medic class would be severely overpowered as well as the support class for unlimited healing and ammo respectively. There is no bleeding mechanic either which would definitely be a factor.
It's just a game though. No one promised the gun would work like it does in real life. If you don't like it anymore, use another gun!

I thought something was up when kills I normally get weren't happening. I have also noticed a change in the mechanics of velocity and bullet drop. There have been dozens of times I had my sights sitting perfectly on someone standing still and pulled the trigger expecting the kills I used to get pre patch and it doesn't happen. I get the painfully slow muzzle velocity means people can move out of the way but still its gotten so bad I stopped using it.

Although Im unsure as to whether this weapon should have been nerfed, the argument 'It's a level 10 weapon, it should be powerful' is invalid. Getting to level 10 requires no skill, just play time. Almost everyone has got level 10 in at least one class now.
Again, we are seeing balance issues in a game not because they were balanced poorly before release, but because there is a lack of content in the game so everyone uses the same gun or gadget - making the said item seem overpowered, when in reality it is just overused.

My suggestion for the Martini Henry:
1. Revert the damage calc to pre-nerf settings.
2. Make 1/3 shots "hang fire" for realism with the Martini.
For those not wanting to google what a hang fire is, it is when a weapon has a split second delay in firing after the trigger has been pulled. This is caused due to a bad primer. This was a very common occurrence on the Martini.
I agree that the battle pack system is terrible, I don't like it.

People need to stop calling it a nerf. It was a fix.
If the Hellreigel was 1-shotting people in any part of the body and DICE later patched it so it performed like it currently does in-game, you wouldn't say it was nerfed; you'd say it was fixed because it's pretty obvious the Hellreigel wasn't supposed to perform that way.
The same goes for the Martini. It _didn't have body part multipliers._ Literally every other gun in the game does. It was clearly not supposed to function that way, so they fixed it.
Is it less powerful now? Yes. That doesn't mean it was nerfed. Nerfing implies deliberacy in the original iteration.

I used to main this gun, and it is usleless (to me) right now. I used to get a lot of kills with it on medium range maps (For example: Amiens) but now I only get 50% of those kills. I just went back to the old MKIII because why would you have a gun with HALF of the muzzle velocity of normal rifles, and why would you have 1 bullet, when you can have 10 bullets with the MKIII, FOR ONLY A 10m SWEETSPOT RANGE DIFFERENCE? I think this nerf was REALLY unecesarry and was only implemented, because of some kiddos bitchin about the scout class...
What I want from the next patch:
-DMRs should be able to do a 1 headshot+ 1 bodyshot for a kill
-Add back in weapon-specific battle packs (Each time you get a service star or so you get a pack of skins just for that weapon) so you get skins for guns you actually use
-Fix the arm-shot thing talked about in the vid
-remove the random innaccuracy from suppression, so a skilled player can compensate for the increased scope sway and still land accurate shots
-Make the Selb 1906 a 2 shot out to like 35 meters or so
-Buff the Huot for a 4 shot kill out to like 25 meters or so
-Reduce gas capacity to 1 grenade
-Nerf AA against infantry or limit how low they can aim
-Add back in revolver 1 headshot=kill
-Make the slug shotgun actually so consistent damage and increase accuracy
Not sure why your dragging COD down, at least they have achievement based weapon skins that show your proficiency with guns and classes. If anything bf has the worse system with having battle packs being the ONLY way to get skins. You can't even buy gold/diamond/dark matter/black sky in COD whereas you literally have to buy to get skins in BF1. Don't get me wrong I love BF1 and it feels like I'm back playing Bad Company 2 but I can't deny COD has better achievement based camo, customisation and battle pack/ supply drop rates.
First shitty progression, then stupid battle packs. Now crazy balance changes...this is some Activision level stupid DICE.
Honestly this weapon alone made the entire BF1 experience 100% better for me. BF1 will forever be one of the only Multiplayer games I actually enjoyed by myself just because of the martini henry. (Considering my entire friend group moved on from these shooters and started playing strategy games...)
battlepacks: I burned 15 legendaries in a failed attempt to get the Martini-Henry Massoka skin (9 Frommer stop and 6 Huots). that's unreasonable. if they must persist with this broken system, there at least should be a guarantee that after e.g. 5 legendary packs the remaining skin you don't have is awarded. don't leave it to chance. I will never buy packs, I don't want to encourage them. I had saved up my scraps since the start of the game until attempt such as this was necessary. still failed!
The support level 10 unlock gun isn't the best lmg either. I wouldn't place the Huot top3 for support guns either, so welcome to the club, snipers :).
I get thet alot of people like the gun, though i havent used it myself but certainly there is a reason for DICE nerfing it. I thought it was over-used at first but someone told me the reason martini-henry did so well because it wasn't supposed to do this much damage all over the body in the first place?
Used the weapon a lot and loved it. What piss me off are comments like " aim the head lul".
if you listened the video, the major complain is it's inconsistency now. I can aim perfectly the upper torso in the sweet spot range , but because of the lack of scope and the slow velocity you can't predict the arm placement. It just become luck if the arm is in the way or not, which is utter bullshit.
And for the 'aim the head" all snipers can do that...with more velocity, more bullets, more rate of fire and more precision. So gtfo with this argument
I see no point in playing with this weapon unless you just do it for fun and style (and the cool sound that it makes)
Why?
Because it doesn't have a scope,
You need to be relatively close to your enemies in order to be in the sweet-spot range,
and chances are most of your hits are going to be hit markers,
Which means you are better off just using a normal sniper with a scope... At least you can shoot from a safer distance, it's easier to aim with a scope, plus the reload speeds are going to be much quicker.
I tried to play with the martini henry but i only kept getting hit markers, it was much more difficult to aim with it's iron sights
and also I kept getting rushed by enemies that were just too close to me.
The martini bullet is a HUGE chunk of metal. About 5x that of other bullets in the game. It's not gonna give 2 shits about your arm it's gonna blow a hole right through you, it needs to be un nerfed IMO.
The amount of butthurt in the comment section is insane XD the update fixed a bunch of crucial bugs and it nerfed some weapons like the martini that desperately needed it. the op hellriegel got nerfed the model 10 hunter, it was only a matter of time before the martini would get nerfed too. and btw the rank on the weapon has absolutely 0 connection to how good the weapon should be. i feel like 90% of the people here never played bf3 or bf4
here lemme ask you this the bar is a 30-06 30 cal rifle... this thing is a full auto lee enfeild yet it does 20 damage and the lee does like 70 to 100, i think that the scout guns should not have a sweet spot but the martini and should do much less damage. like a scout shoots me for 90 damage and pulls out a secondary and kills me faster than my bar so fucking hell nerf them
yeah battlepack system sucks how can it be random if every time i play the same people get one and not me or others besides i am nearly always in the reward screen and first place... why they just dont give the top 3 50scrap it would be fair they wouldnt get too many battlepacks and good plaing would finally be rewarded hope u agree with that
now the bar will get smashed into a pulp next patch...

I don't fuking understand DICE , they nerfed a weapon that is more like a reward because all the hard work you have to do to unlock it , A weapon that is supposed to do some serious damage because of its rank . But they don't nerf the stupid AA guns that make airplanes unplayable ..... someone needs to get fired.
Fully agree on the Martini Henry, if you're in the right position it can be superb, otherwise it's far from sniper heaven. Then again, I'm not very good at it in general.

Totally agree with the points made in the video. Aswell as the martini henry nerf, the battlepack system is crap. And don't even get me started on grenade spam... until they at least reverse this nerf im going back to siege.
