Totally agree!!! I’m an asthmatic and the less stuff on surfaces and the less pillows, blankets and soft furniture the better my lungs function.

My mom used to refer to our accumilating water cups on the windowsill as "spider hotels"

Spiders and spiderwebs are GOOD for our health!!!!! The webs have the ability to clear the air of heavy metals and such-hence scientists even try to reproduce those webs!!!! But they can’t come close to the original!!!! Go and look it up on Google, it’s a truly fascinating topic!!!!! 😊

Yes! I appreciate being minimal as i have bad allergies to dust mites and mold. If i get lax on my cleaning schedule, my body tells me. But it is so much easier and quicker to clean with no clutter!

That are a lot of reasons not to have clutter around. I must say that it is purely mental with me. My clutter is neatly put away in cupboards all over the house. Not so much that if you open a door things will come tumbling down on you, but neatly into plastic boxes with lids on it. Just knowing that there is still way too much that I just don’t use keep me stressed. It used to be that my whole house had loads of knickknacks standing around, but luckily I already decluttered those things. I do have silverfish in my house, but because I do have a lot of books still that is only logical. They live on the paper. When I had a cat he used to catch and eat them, but now I just have to kill them whenever I see them. No mold in my house and easy spaces to keep clean and always an easy free way out of the house in case of emergency.

If you happen t have a wood cedar shake roof, that could be the main reason for silverfish.
