- Eighteen former NBA players have been criminally indicted as part of an alleged scheme to defraud the NBA's health and wellness plan for their players. Players indicted include Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Sebastian Telfair, Darius Miles and Anthony Allen, among others. Federal prosecutors said the defendants submitted false claims to get reimbursed for medical and dental expenses that never actually took place.

Tony Allen made over $40,000,000 in his career. Even if we cut that in half for taxes and fees, 25% more for expenses/retirement, that leaves $15,000,000 not including endorsements. How tf do you lose $15,000,000 in 10 or so years?????????????
@Jess Stone Yea they have no excuse. They could literally throw $1M into a few relatively safe investment accounts and they would be set for life. I think they just can't handle their income going down to zero and like you said just the pure greed. Why they don't invest in reap estate is beyond me. They could build a fee apartment buildings and make out like crazy with low knowledge because they have the capital which is the hardest part!

Life is stressful amongst other things, so leisure and entertainment are valued. Most big sports revenue is from the broadcast. Lots of people watch, advertisers will pay to promote their products to people, so the league can command lots of money for lots of eyeballs.
