With all the division I have felt in NZ over the past few years I have found this music video a great help. It's a reminder of how we are still a bunch of individuals working towards one goal of a happy healthy country. I watch most nights with my kids so they can see how this country should be. If it comes to it I'll vote this for the new version of our national anthem!! Thanks again for capturing the true kiwi culture ❤

I worked in NZ for half a year and it was an amazing experience. The people, the culture... Everyone was so welcoming and it still feels like a second home, although I've already been back in my home country for two years now. Its weird that I've got a feeling of homesickness for a country I was only a guest in
I like grew up with this song and just heard it again for the first time in about 5 yrs and i still know it word for word. This song always just makes me realize how beautiful and amazing our country is. I couldnt imagine growing up anywhere else apart from our beautiful, amazing country❤❤❤❤❤

I'm new to the "Stan Walker Fan Club". Discovered him when I was searching for a doc to watch & came across his doc showing his rise to fame but also telling about his harsh, abusive childhood and the cancer genes that run in his family, making it necessary for him and other family members to have their stomachs removed. I have so much admiration for Stan, for surviving his childhood, working hard towards success in his career and for facing cancer head-on, doing what was necessary to live and be healthy. So much respect for this young man!

Nō te whenua o te Atua tātou
No matter where you come from
Ahakoa nō hea mai koe

Ka whawhai tonu mātou mōu
I am your mountain, stand still
Ko au tō maunga, tū tonu
You are the sea
Ko te moana pari mai koe
You are the river in my skirt, and so are we
Ko koe te awa i taku remu, ko tāua anō tāua
It comes from the soil at Kurawaka, which protects the land
Nō te one i Kurawaka, hei tiaki i te whenua nei
New Zealand, we are a strong nation

It is a traditional authority
He mana tuku iho mai anō
Fertile land
Whenua haumako
The spirit is not
Wairua ora
Follow your path

He kōrero tō te whenua, heke mai ki a tātou
I'm a warrior for her wrestling
He toa au mōna e oke nei e
I will not fall
E kore au e hinga
A descendant of tears
He uri nō te roimata
The blood of our ancestors
Te toto o ngā tūpuna
I'm not afraid
E kore au e wehi ē
Let's do what you want us to do
Kia kaha tātou ki tāu i pai ai
Exercise, not just talk
Whakatinana, kaua e ngutu noa
Land of fertility, living spirit
Whenua haumako, wairua ora
Follow your path to the end

No matter if you're near or far
We come from the land of God
No matter where you belong
We'll fight for your freedom
I am the mountain, you are the sea flowing toward me
You are the river that runs through me, I am her, she is me
Created from dust and sand, born to lead this land
Where we come from we were made to be strong
Our legacy will carry on
And if a piece of home
Resonates in your soul
Your journey will take you
Where you belong
No matter if you're near or far
We come from the land of God
No matter where you belong
We'll fight for your freedom
The heritage of this land is deep, we are it's legacy
I am her warrior, I fight for thee, we have the victory
Born from blood and tears, I am stronger than fear, yeah...
We strive to move to our destiny
We practice more than what we preach
And if a piece of home resonates in your soul

Am almost 2 yrs here in Aotearoa.
Before covid came.
Feeling lost and away from home.
But, staying here makes me appreciate how beautiful it is ,the country and people.
It has many challenges just like any other country have.
but just proud that meeting many amazing people here.
NZ is a land that portrays kindess & Love. We are a safe haven for all those seeking acceptance in this world. And I for one am proud to be a Kiwi.

Best version I’ve heard. Yes. Age 62 and practiced thus at school, cultural class b and church.
Melbourne life for ~20 years. Among other countries prior.
Love it!

Its weird that I've got a feeling of homesickness for a country I was only a guest in
Aotearoa is the best country in the world!~ (in my opinion) Who's with me?

I'm new to the "Stan Walker Fan Club". Discovered him when I was searching for a doc to watch & came across his doc showing his rise to fame but also telling about his harsh, abusive childhood and the cancer genes that run in his family, making it necessary for him and other family members to have their stomachs removed. I have so much admiration for Stan, for surviving his childhood, working hard towards success in his career and for facing cancer head-on, doing what was necessary to live and be healthy. So much respect for this young man!
I’m an American yet I was born and raised here because my parents immigrated here I love this country!!!
