According to the product's description, it's supposed to be a smart charger that protects against a bunch of stuff, such as overcharging and short circuit. You should be relatively safe against overheating if you scale the charger properly to the battery capacity (I read something about the intensity should not go above 30% of the battery's capacity, so 30A for a 100Ah battery I guess). You should take my words with a grain of salt though, since I just learned everything today from reading stuff on Internet. Other than that, the charger has a battery level indicator. That should let you know when it is fully charged

How do we know when it is charged and to be sure it does not overcharge or overheat when charging?

My eco-worthy charger never charges my eco-worthy batteries, just sits there saying they are fully charged when I know they are not.
