This is true for all of Hollywood. The person directing the movie doesn't cut checks. If Tom Cruise didn't get paid everything owed to him for working on a Steven Spielberg movie, he knows that blaming Spielberg is pointless. He knows that he must go to Disney Films to get his check (assuming he's actually owed a check).
