Hello Tracy, happy Friday, May 10th. I do hope that you are doing well. The very best of good things for you every day. Keep that great attitude, it is inspirational. 🤗
The woodpeckers a bit before 9:30 are Acorn Woodpeckers. They live in family groups and subsist primarily on acorns (obviously!), which they store in huge quantities in 'granary trees' such as the one in your video. They excavate holes the perfect size for acorns and then jam them in - so tightly that squirrels supposedly aren't able to extricate them. This is fun to watch unless the granary 'tree' they select is the side of your cabin...! They are quite interestingly marked as well - having faces that look like clown makeup.
Love the rock faces, views, oh how can I even decide... I guess my favorite was the dog and the sign on the side of the truck that said rescue animals. Nothing better than people willing to rescue animals. Sounds like you have a little bit of tricky hiking ahead so be safe. Been watching some of your favorite foods you display. Hopefully by the time you get into Oregon a ways I will have a care package ready for you with all your favorite things!!☺️
Nice to see you back on the trail, Say Hi to Star-ship for me. Love the photo's and video's. I am impressed with your progress. I have tried a few short sections with a backpack and a few days supplies, it can be a challenge pushing limits. Thanks for the views and faces of nature.
It's funny how I get accustomed to identifying hikers by their clothing. The first thing I noticed was the switch to the coral top. :) I'm sure the stay in Idyllwild was a nice reprieve...and you got to meet the mayor!!! Loved the pic of the moonlight coming through the tent... makes me wish I could be out there now. Hope you are doing well!
You're probably well past Idyllwild by the time you read this. Hope you didn't have to use your microspikes. On the other hand, I read a weather report today that was predicting 4-8 inches of snow in the Sierra on May 10. So it's still winter at higher elevations. Be careful out there. Hike On!
El Condor....another great vid....sounds like you have a good plan and a great support team (husband)....stay aware....stay safe out there !! You might consider shorter videos during long stretches !!
Following and wondering about your fitness condition. You stated earlier that you had hiked quite a bit before the PCT start, but was that enough for what you are experiencing? Stay safe out there.
Should have practiced more steep hills over long distance. Also steep downhill grades. That’s what much of the trail is and I’ve struggled for sure. Can be pretty tough on feet, knees, and of course.. . endurance.
Many hikers feel a tad guilty about taking double zeros for any reason and staying in a Super 8 when they would rather be hiking and camping ⛺️ in the open. They came to hike, not stay in a motel 🏨! But there are always important reasons which make such stays necessary!
Tiki Bird Tracy Notice if Paradise has a veggie burger? And what’s fave Mexican food in SA? I will forever be a Rosario’s fan. Their prickly pear margarita cannot be beat. 🌿

Thanks again for posting! Nice campground at Idyllwild and even nicer hotel room! Sweet. 👍
And thanks for the birds 🐦 . Springtime is the best!

All good! I'm not a hiker, but it seems to me hiking can get complicated! :) Stay safe!!
Thanks For the videos

This one was consolidated over many days - that's exactly what I did :D
Nice hiking days!
Seems like your post are about thirty days behind. So by the date this posted you should be at or close to KM.
Starship to Pothole? Oh, my....lol...🤕. Hope she is doing OK now.

@@TikiBirdTracy Hope you are no where near the snow storm headed to the PCT. Stay safe

I’ve seen perhaps 100 videos about Paradise Cafe having the best hamburger on the trail. I have heard zero hikers comment on them. Hmm...
I wasn’t impressed! My favorite is still in San Antonio. Now it may very well be the best on the PCT....🤣
