;) Meanwhile, it's a song about two people in love with each other who can't be together.... Basia was surprised, in an interview, that it's such a hit at weddings, because it talks about unfulfilled, impossible love. (She is talking about a situation from her life). However, one must admit that it is a beautiful song. I enjoy listening to it very much because I love the timbre of Basia Trzetrzelewska's voice.
back when singers actually sang. 100% pure voice, no electronics. big fan of basias'. still listening to your songs 30+ years later. cheers from the other side of the world, dominican republic ❤
More than 3 years of being single, still cynical, still traumatized from my previous relationship, still no plans of being in love again, and will probably never ever take a chance again. BUT THIS SONG, THIS WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE NO MATTER WHAT! THIS NEVER FAILS TO MAKE ME FEEL GOOD EVEN JUST FOR A FEW MINUTES. ❤️❤️❤️
And hey, I was wowza. She woke me out of my half sleep. And I was like, huh? Who is this gorgeous singer? One of the most beautiful jazz singers ever. Poland or anywhere.
Nailed it! Simply angelic.. yes folks she did this LIVE no lip sync ! How many acts do you see put it all on the line by singing live? Loved her then and always will! She sings to my heart and soul!
One of the greatest live performances ever. Of all time. Can I just say, I’m in love with the bass player? Ok, that’s out of the way. Basia had a hit song and she sang it like she didn’t know it. But Johnny Carson knew it.
I was 7 years old when this song came out. But I remember listening to it for the first time, and it brings memories of wonderful times being 7 years old, and being loved by my parents and family.🥹😢
Beautiful performance. Basia. No doubt about it. I love a live performance and you are a sweetheart. And so is your band. And your back up singers. So sweet. You nailed it. You and your band. Basia, I love you, All these years later. And you are so amazing. Time and tide is so lovely.
How Basia makes music, with each of the elements, the instruments, but her vocals with the saxophone… good lord, “it so awesome”… as they say here in America…
how many who call themselves singers would be able to sing a song as difficult as melodious only BASIA, unique, inimitable! how not to love her? as soon as you hear her name you have to run and listen to a piece of her.
Fantastic as always! It's nice to see this in HD! One of my favs is her on Letterman singing Copernicus , but it's only in 480p... :^( I have cassette tapes of her from when I was in college , which was 1985-86. I recently converted them to digital, and burned them to CD's.
Is it live or is it Memorex? I can hardly tell the difference. Great quality recording to match the great performance by Basia. She seems to be right there before me. Johnny Carson had an appreciation of beauty and style. Basia fits that mold to a tee. The 80's were a time when elegance was ascendant. Since the 90's, elegance has virtually disappeared from popular culture.
To było 30 lat temu i ubierają ja Brytyjczycy ewentualnie Amerykanskie wpływy wiec nie oczekuj że styl ubioru i fryzury Basi będzie pasował komuś w Polsce 30 lat później 🙄😁
I loved the Time and Tide album. I thought at the time that Basia needed more help transitioning from chest to head voice. Also her background singers are outsinging her and she has no stage presence here. None of these issues are dealbreakers, the record label isn't presenting her at her best is all.
Watching in 2024!!
First dance at my wedding ❤️ Love this song - she’s right - it lasted! - my husband and I are still together 31 years strong
Oh goodness. I love it.
❤️❤️❤️❤️

Congratulations.
I wish this would have been the 1st dance at my wedding.

Poland is so proud of YOU, BASIA! We love you so much
The bossa nova queen.

Basia in a RED dress, rocking it! Oh my beating heart. What a beautiful, beautiful lady!
Her American debut… good lord, she’s gorgeous and talented. A jazz singer…
And hey, I was wowza. She woke me out of my half sleep. And I was like, huh? Who is this gorgeous singer? One of the most beautiful jazz singers ever. Poland or anywhere.
I love the harmonies
Was born in the 90's and my mom always play this kind of music. So glad i got the chance to hear it. Love you mom!
Nailed it! Simply angelic.. yes folks she did this LIVE no lip sync ! How many acts do you see put it all on the line by singing live? Loved her then and always will! She sings to my heart and soul!
Mr. Carson LOVED her. And why not? She killed it on every performance!
She went for that high note like it was nothing

What a talent! At a time when we have an excess of completely talentless performers. Thanks, Poland, for sharing your superstar.
Such a unique and brilliant artist, and a great group of musicians.

Beautiful.
Damn she is just such a talented singer, great unique voice and well trained with a lot of control.
Her background singers were on point! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The best.
One day a classmate at LATrade Tech in LA introduced me to Basia's music yes in 1988 and still listening her music .
Great singer, great album, great band, great backup singers....great song
Beautiful performance. Basia. No doubt about it.
I love a live performance and you are a sweetheart.
And so is your band. And your back up singers. So sweet.
You nailed it.
You and your band.
Basia, I love you,
All these years later. And you are so amazing.
Time and tide is so lovely.
Such a beautiful song. I had forgotten how amazing she is.😉
Phenomenal live performance. Everyone on that stage was a brilliant addition to making that song the best.
Omg Basia you're too amazing 😍😍😍😍😊😊😊😁😁😀😀😀😀
How Basia makes music, with each of the elements, the instruments, but her vocals with the saxophone… good lord, “it so awesome”… as they say here in America…
Good voice, beautiful and good performance
I wish I could go back to 1988
Absolutely beautiful and timeless ❤️!
I can’t recall when I’ve been so enchanted. Basia is gorgeous, and amazing.
This is the very show I discovered this beautiful gal. In 1988.
One of the albums of my childhood that brings so many good memories! Thank you Basia 🧡!
Man, she was great back in the day! Loved her concert!
Was she ever.
She’s still performing and she’s still fantastic.
So underrated
Hats off to Basia. Great performance!
I saw her in Detroit when she toured at the time. Fine concert.
Wow a live performance! Well that's at least one thing they've got over Sade.
Brilliant song,bravo Basia!
❤
Basia rocks!

Magnificent !
We love Basia
Maravillosa Basia❤
One of the most difficult background vocals
I love that pause at “hang on!”
Basia like sunshine star always 💛
como o tempo passar uma pitada de jazz nesse belo arranjo vida longa Basia
Thanks
Beautiful basia...

Love this!! ❤️
Back up vocals are also very good..!!!
👏👏👏❤
@basiafan thank you, many, many thanks for this channel 👍
That bass tone so heavy.
Nice one
I'd love to know what that bass player's rig is. The sharp sound is so great. If anyone knows pleas list, thanks.
🌷🌈
Is that Nathan East on bass?
Is that a young Joe Pizzulo on sax?
Drummer as piano player ( of course Mr. White ) are the same like the record. but the rest of band: WHO ARE THEY ??
Richard Elliot on sax.
Wow she actually looks like Dakota Johnson 😲
Thought of that too lol.
Other way round 😮😂
Great performance, but the mix is really bad. Her vocals are too low and the bass is too loud.
Moim zdaniem wyglada swietnie😁!
Moda sie zmienia.
Basia znakomicie tu wyglada.
Bass popping was a bit too much. This song is not like that..

Thank you Maestro. What a shame you didn't tell her
about this transitioning bit in 1988. She wouldn't
have wasted so many years.
@@greggry4883Her label's A&R people were not doing their job.
😮😏🤨
