- Thanks everyone for helping me get to 400 videos! It means a lot that you all continue commenting and subscribing and just enjoying the videos I create, so thank you once again.
Bumerang acts as a worm by infecting computers over a network, and also as a virus as it infects .EXE files whenever it infects a new PC. When the payload is triggered, after a few months/years of having a PC being infected, Bumerang will drop a modified version of the CIH virus to the drive and run it, destroying the hard drive and BIOS instantly. However, when it does this, it sends a signal to all other PCs on the network that are infected, causing them to CIH as well, effectively destroying tens of thousands of dollars worth of computing equipment in the blink of an eye. Insanely destructive, yet insanely awesome. - Развлечения
Imagine trying to boot an old computer after several years that was unknowingly infected with the virus, only to make it wipe its BIOS after a few minutes...
oops
I was expecting a boomerang to fly by all the computers one by one
Same
Pichu Pichu me too
Pichu Pichu it's cool though.
Lol me too
same
An offices worst nightmare
***** Shh.... Be quiet.... so many replies.
Be quiet for 3 seconds.
Insult me, eh? Nice way to stoop to the level of a 6th grader.
Maybe in age, but in maturity, you are a fifth grader.
If you'd tone down on the caps, and insults, which don't effect me in the slightest, you'd have a better level of maturity
"I need to make one last calculation on my last PC in my network!" but alas, blue screen.
10/10.
tragic
Sob story of the century.
that should be a documentry
***** Alas is also English and is used to express grief, pity, or concern.
Rest In BSoD virtual network
When I'm bored at work:
(1) Insert USB with virus into computer
(2) Copy virus to desktop
(3) Set date to 2011
(4) Run the virus
(5) Set date to 2015
(6) Watch everyone at work yell at the IT admins
+NiteDasher LOL. Why not do... Hmm, 50 viruses?
GREAT IDEA.
NiteDasher Or put it to the super extreme, somewhere no one should go! BONZI BUDDY!!! YES I KNOW I AM CRAZY!!
+NiteDasher What about happy virus, trojan, cryptolocker, pikachu.exe
+NiteDasher some men just want to watch the world burn
Bubbles may be the greatest Backround, but Maze is the greatest Screensaver (right before Pipes) I miss those...
Rest in Peace o' mighty 3D Maze.
@@Knuxfan24 IT"S NOT DEAD, websites have the screensaver that you can download to have 3d maze again
I like the pipes teapot Easter egg
It deletes its registry key when you use regedit ... That is some truly scary shit.
But that means if you have Regedit open and then force power off the machine, the worm would be damaged.
+PixelBucket The Herobrine Hunter That would be unlikely to happen, the user would usually be doing other things
I know, but that thought just came to me. If since it deletes it's registry key to hide it when RegEdit is run, then if RegEdit is open and the worm's registry key is deleted, and while RegEdit is open, you force power down or unplug your machine, the virus will no longer run at startup and thus can be deleted.
***** No, since it's key is in the Windows directory, it'll start in safe mode as well.
That's why it put that key there.
Imagine if someone ran this at school, Then, a few years later....
Hey guys lets go watch Yout-
*Bluescreen*
Uh oh...
Should have been my senior prank...
Run it on your last day of school. No one will know its there until a few years later when it destroys all the computers on the network.
"I need to make one last calculation on my computer!"
*Blue screen*
"Noooooo!"
That made my day! Subscribed! =P
6:24 VM 5 got a BSOD for doing nothing.
Ikr
"Bubbles is the greatest background ever, and if you disagree....then you are wrong."
Love this guy.
Worker 1: Hey! I need help here!
Worker 2, 3 and 4: What happened?
Worker 1: My PC had blue screened!
Worker 2, 3 and 4: OMFG!
2,3 and 4 goes back to their PCs
WTF I GOT A BLUE SCREEN TOO!
I would see that happening...
Well, have seen.
Lol! Didn't see an argument here. And I hate Spell Checkers here. SO GET OUT! (Grammar Nazis to you.)
Don't you notice there is an edit button?*****
Top-Right of your post. You will see the edit button.*****
6:15 "Now Bubbles Is the greatest background ever and if you disagree then you are wrong" That's Cool!
Wow, the way that the worm leaves the host is actually very interesting! Not so many virus do that.
Holy Crap! Imagine how scary it would have been back in the day to have three or four PCs on the same WAN die the same nasty death... Some people wouldn't have known what had hit them and might think it was some sort of hacking attack or something.
I remember this one time my dad walked in and saw my monitor with the BSOD, although this was a screensaver not the actual BSOD, and he was all like, "Great you broke your computer already? Be honest with me where looking at bad stuff." I remained silent and moved my mouse and he was like oh.... damn. :D
This video is a perfect example of why I love watching danooct1's videos. He explains how the virus works, and what the files (etc.) are. It is not only entertaining, but very educational. I learned so much about computers from Danooct1's videos. Thank you.
Today is this video's 10th anniversary.
Crazy to think that the early 2010s are now a decade ago lol
1:24 "av shit"
😂😂
On my last day of the school I go to, I should unleash this worm on the network.
GlaciatorGaming Good luck, its about 10-20 years outta date. And I doubt your school runs windows 95 machines with FATs anymore.
O crap it wouldn't work on windows 7 and vista would it. Well somebody can send me a network worm and I'd appreciate it.
GlaciatorGaming Apparently if you got caught doing so, or they traced it back to you it is apparently considered a felony (considered a disruption of the schools network and whatnot), I've been there and I've would be sent to jail if I knew exactly what I was doing. Also, If your school has adequate funding for computers that are made at least past the year 2008 I doubt they would be left sitting out in the open like so (unless you got crappy IT).
iamageek500 I was kidding but yeah, our computers are accsessible to the students at all times.
bmanbro -likeabossstudios Nah it's fine
Man, when I commented on the melting screen video and you said 400 wasn't CIH I was kinda let down. Glad we got this instead. Awesome video Dan!
Congrats on getting this far man! I really like your videos and will continue to watch, like and forward them to my friends (they love it)!
It's also kinda cool that the Network Sharing status are all blinking together (at the bottom of the virtual pc window)
You do a great job, I'll admit that, but you're videos are awesome! I just can't watch enough. Keep at it!
my friend downloaded this virus in school computer and all school computers broke
this virus was on counter strike 1.6
LOL
Lance Stinson
Hand Not Even.
I bet the school technician had to call for backup.
lol
Happy 400!
The sound of the buckling springs make me smile during these videos.
you would not believe how good these narrations sound on my new surround sound headphones. I can hear the echo. it sounds like you are right in front of me, cool.
@thecooldude9999 I'm getting a new microphone tomorrow as well, so soon they should be even better.
I enjoyed it. Keep them coming. :D
Woo, that was one hell of a worm. That 400th video special was worth it.
Yes! This worm is epic. Thanks for uploading this Dan.
6:57 "I need to make one last calculation on my last PC in my network, Nooooo! Blue Screen!"
Happy 400th!
I could totally see this happening in a Dilbert comic.
I LOVE IT
Always thanks to your video, dan.
6:55 = BEST LINE EVER.
CIH: "Yeah, you're not going to make that last calculation."
400th video already?
Whoa, where does the time go?
Also, this must be one of the most destructive VM havoc on RUclips!
@JackomanTheThird And how exactly is it not genuine, considering I own the disc and key? It's in test mode so I can install 3rd party drivers without having to boot into a special mode every single time.
Awesome choice for 400th video Dan!
One of your greatests videos, Daniel. :)
LOL at the last computer. Very nice videos, man.
Danooct,
You deserve more subscribers and views! :(
I love your videos very interesting! :D
So that CIH virus activates on April 26th?! That's my birthday! So it basically is a "meltdown" of your PC on the anniversary of the Chernobyl incident, that's kinda cool.
Actually, it’s not, it just a coincidence, even though the virus is also called the Chernobyl virus because of that.
I'm April 25, so my birthday marks the last day of many PCs being usable
Great Vid i always wanted you to do this
This is very awesome!!!
That was really cool!
This is absolutely great!
What an awesome video!
Haha, that's one interesting worm.
Nice video, Dan.
I love your clicking sound.
dude you're picture and comment are perfectly matched. I laughed my ass off
Most Badass virus ever!!
I've never heard of that word before. Thank you very much :)
Bahaha. Rogueamp you are legendary :D
we now return to bumerang from dantoon network
Imagine this in an office. When the payload activates, it would be chaos
So This is basiclly Enhanced CIH? Does the same thing, but spreads faster and through network. That's actually genius whoever came up with that.
Imagine bringing this virus on a floppy or something into a corporate intranet network and running it. Oh man, that would be scary for the business
Insta-CIH for all network computers? Damn. That's pretty badass, in a terrifying way. And imagine if all of those PCs were also the flashable BIOS type, that would just spell complete and total disaster for the entire network.
great video btw :D
imagine that last thing in office 'i need to do last calculation on my last pc on my network'
Nooo blue screen
thats a badass worm thx!
wow that is one badass worm! Totally destroyed all those computers. Yeah it would really really suck if this occurred back then especially at a business where all the pc are networked.
That one was fecking cool.
Sorry about this relatively late question, just going through Dan's newest batch of vids (I follow several channels and just binge on one at a time). Anyways, what I don't get is, what stopped this virus from being widespread? Was the wait time too long? Did all the major antiviruses pick it up in time for it to no longer be a threat? I'm just surprised I'd never heard of this thing...
How did you connect all the pc's to access the files from another pc? That looks awesome!
"Bubbles is the greatest backround ever... and if you disagree.. then you are wrong."
-Daniel White
congrats :)
Pretty impressive.
6:41 FOr a split second, wWindows looks weird when it's switching to the bluescreen; Is that what Windows would look like if it was in DOS/text mode? Also, is WIndows just running a special graphics mode to make itself look better?
I make three videos a week, sometimes more, is that not often enough?
amazing and fun video to watch ( nowadays)
I love how you say Lets Play Solitaire after you got Blue Screen
danooct1's upload schedule in 2009-2012: 50 videos a month
danooct1's upload schedule today: *mario randomly falls asleep*
lol I remember when window viruses were just made to trash the C drive; And not usually for spyware purposes.
Back when viruses were fun. Now all they want is my social security number.
Organized crime realized there was much money to be made, and then the virus authors had people willing to pay large sums of cash for their expertise
Good video.
Also, if the virus exploits 0-day network bugs, it can jump out of the VM via shared connection (also plausible with autorun viruses / shared USB ports and such)
7:10 Perfect harmony ;)
this is a stupid question, but when you do this, will it only effect the virtuel machines or also the pc they are running on?
new subscriber
Thanks, CIH. THIH.
Epic worm, something tells me that someone is going to modify that for macs to play the Rick Roll song. And I know who would!
The folder in all virtual machines in the video are shared files. They are yellow on the folder icons and not shaded out.
Haha, the moment where all the screens turned blue reminds me of a photo i saw where all computers were BSOD.
Also, this is quite ballsy to create something like that.
One big monitor you got there... what res you running?
AAAWESOME!!!!!
Ahhh windows 98 second edition. so many memories
For your next vid or a future vid you should do the beast trojan!
It depends. If you activate shared folders in the virtual machine and share any folder on your PC, if there is a virus on the virtual machine, it will spread to your main PC as well. Most virtual machine programs now warn you of what could happen if you activate shared folders.
@RBGHfan No. The order of the videos on the video page is just the order in which they were uploaded. Partners have a special feature that allows them to specify a date and time to make a video public, which was used to make this video the 400th one.
“Bubbles is the best screensaver and if you disagree you are wrong” agreed
I come back like a Bumerang.
Yes, in this case. But a couple of years ago there was a virus which exploited some bugs in VmWare, jumping out of the VM.
it's amazing
Very clever worm
Who CC'd your videos, Dan?
I wonder how many huge networks this ruined
God, I would pay to see an entire office go blue. I would die of laughter.
Computers: We're dead, because of the Bumerang worm.
