Fun Fact: I got to meet Danielle Harris (Jamie) at a convention and I asked her about the car chase scene. I wanted to know if that was really her running from a car or if it was a stunt double. That was actually her running from a car. And during the shoot of that scene, she had extremely bad food poisoning and kept vomiting between takes. That’s commitment to a role lol.

Also in the chase scene in the final act in the laundry shoot. When Micheal was stabbing at the vent to kill Jamie, they were in fact using a real knife with Danielle Harris actually in there

Btw Danielle Harris said in an interview she feared for her life 3 times filming this. When the car was chasing her it was dark, and they were using the smoke machine, she swears the driver didn't realise how close to her he got, on top of which during the scene she had food poisoning and had to keep stopping to puke. In the laundry chute she almost got stabbed when she slipped. When the coffin fell surrounded by candles her dress was partly made of paper, she feared it would catch on the flames.

Things the Halloween movies have taught me:
    1. Loomis is always ready to fight and needs lessons in how to interact with other human beings, especially children.
    2. Cops are useless. ALWAYS.
    3. Everyone in Haddonfield will always assume Michael is anyone else but Michael to the point of stupidity/death.
    4. Michael WILL NEVER GO DOWN. In the words of Randy “Stabbing him won’t work. Shooting him won’t work. Basically you gotta cryogenically freeze his head, decapitate him or blow him up!"

Tina was the worst! Lol I was sooooo upset that Rachel got killed so soon! I think they rushed this one and the way they wrote loomis is insane and so disrespected to the character. • @tgriffin3059
      @tgriffin3059 7 месяцев назад

Hardly. This was one of the very finest outings for Donald Pleasance as Loomis. The film doesn't show 'disrespect to the character'. Outside of 2, there's not another film in the series that he dominates so completely. It's just that in this chapter, he's HAD it. Halloween 5 was written in such a way as to correct some of the mistakes made in 4. Halloween 4 eliminated Loomis from most of the second half of the film. This was a cardinal mistake, and 5 corrected that, in EPIC fashion...

    Fun Facts:
Halloween 5 was literally rushed into production before the script could be perfected. You obviously could tell that watching it.
When Dr. Loomis was hitting Michael Myers with that board, Donald Pleasence actually broke Don Shanks nose.
Donald Pleasence actually didn't enjoy doing the movie calling the script rubbish.
On the man in black: One rumor was that the man in black was going to be Michael 's long lost twin brother and Don Shanks, who played Michael Myers, would also play the man in black.
That is not the freaking Myers house (sorry seeing the so called Myers house in this movie always bugged me).

    • @punkem733

Te director was a frenchie who had ONLY directed french comedies. Mustafa akkhad who owned the rights to Halloween wanted another one done so he didn't lose the rights, and he hired a guy with those credentials for an american horror film. The director said he had no clue about the history of the franchise and decided on the mask (they had a mask that looked like H78, he didn't like it, but receding hair line mask looked great to him), he made rachel stupid, and didn't think she was good looking so he had her acting stupid, and killed her off quickly. He picked the myers house as well. Every decision was a bad one on his part, all because of the greed of the rights holder.
The man in black was put in and they had no clue what he had to do with the story, the director basically said it's not their problem, the halloween 6 crew will have to figure it out. Dude also chose to show Myers crying LMAO.

Ah 34:00 the infamous crying scene from Holloween 5. Very powerful scene because for the first time you see a human side to Michael Myers. If you knew his backstory it makes sense. Since childhood he's been under the control of the "Cult of thorn" its a curse the curse of thorn which isn't known until the next movie Holloween 6. The curse compells the individual to want to slaughter everyone from their bloodline as well as anyone who gets in their way. In short he's being controlled by an ancient pagan curse. The tears Michael Myers is shedding are reflecting this, he himself is just as much a victim as those he's being "forced to kill". So this scene can interpreted a couple ways, as a cry for help or his way of apologizing to her for what he's being forced against his will to do, and the tears showcase him trying to fight the curse which is a battle he's been loosing terribly at obviously. There's a reason that scene was controversial and it divided the Holloween fan base.
Some hated it because it broke his character, others liked it because it gave him a human side however brief it was which added depth to his character. It also gives a sympathetic motive as to why he kills people similar to Jason Voorhees.

Tina was an interesting but imo not very well executed idea for a final girl. I can see why they killed off Rachel and wanted Tina, a silly and goofy party girl who would die first in any other slasher, to be Jamie's new sister. But we dont have enough time with her, i dont think, so it just leaves me wishing that dramatic self sacrifice scene had been Rachel and not Tina, because it would have been more emotional that way. Plus, her behavior makes no sense and she's one of the dumbest characters to last this long in a movie.
(Edit: LMAO i never noticed that even though Tina's boyfriend Michael was an ass, he was probably constantly annoyed and miserable because his girlfriend and her friends are stupid as hell 😂)

Tbh the best bet would be to watch one of the various hybrid cuts, producer's cut is solid till the final act whereas the Theatrical cut's final act is a lot more climactic and by having Michael do what he does (spoilers) actually makes more sense than what the Producer's Cut goes with. On balance I think the Theatrical version is more entertaining but Hybrid is where it's at.

Yes, I just begged her up above to watch the Producer's Cut when she chooses which version to view of Halloween 6. I legit believe that it is a genuinely strong entry in the franchise, that version. It's so different people might not initially think so, but all the elements that make a classic Halloween film, a Halloween film, are present and accounted for (atmosphere, music, lazy October day pacing, characters) and woven throughout that wacky plot (which IS a fun, weird little plot if you just accept that the sequel is striking out on its own and doing something different).

Erasing sequels is easy and obviously necessary at times, but it’s fun having a sequel that takes all the others into account, Chucky style.
