Not a big castle fan, I loves me a train and a modular building, but this is just special. Its a real stunning looker of a castle, and if I had known about bricklink back then I would have got one...and one of those train sheds. What you are forgetting is that the wall only has to be small because of the 400 foot drop cliff at the other side of that small wall. You have removed the castle from its mountain top setting so that wall down here in the riverside flatlands is very vulnerable and would need expanding and a curtain wall would not go amiss. I now want both, they just look so so good.
*FYI* 😁 3:20 the arrowslit made with a cross opening is actually for both bows and crossbow, the vertical is for bow and the horizontal for crossbow. This is typically one way to date the arrowslit, castle with only arrowslit with vertical openings are (not rocket science) older. When you saw a small circular opening, this is for firearms, appears during late middle ages. Combination of the three (cross[v/h] + circular ) is possible
I’m interested in both this set and lion knights, but I can’t justify buying both this year. There’s a sealed mountain fortress near me for 500$, which will only increase In price the longer I wait, while the lion knights set retires at the end of this year. May end up just having to flip a coin because I can’t decide
I would say: Get the Fortress right now and Lion’s Knight in 3 months. As the local person may sell theirs to someone else. They are both great sets, but I think that Fortress is cooler looking.
I own both and will say that I like both. I think the MF is truer to scale while the LK is half scale very cramped. LK has much better interior finish. MF lacks interior finishes but I’m sure that was because the designer (Sleepless Knight) was restricted to 4K pieces.
I'd like to see Bricklink limit purchases to one set per person until the third or fourth day. Too many 'investors' buying two sets (and often more under other accounts) and then all of the fans who aren't able to get on line that first day are trapped with the inflated prices. Let everyone who wants one, get one, and THEN let the investors in...
I completely agree. The secondary market for this kills the joy for many. Lego could also produce 50,000 or 100,000 of these sets so that there is less scarcity of these Bricklink Designer Sets.
I bought two copy and I think I will build it in a few weeks. I think the minifigs cannot access upper part of the castle from the lower part (kitchen and stable) without passing the castle bridge? Going into the stable doesnt give you full access to the castle?

Lion Knights Castle can certainly be opened without separating it
Bravo pour les arguments. C'est très bien expliqué.
Thank you

GET LION KNIGHTS
Great review, thanks! At 10:00 or so, you can cut the pdf document into multiple documents to make it smaller and better to handle ;-)
That looks amazing
Thank you Suzanne. This set is so detailed, I love it.

I hate that they don’t print instructions for the exact same reasons.
Awesome, I wish I had the money for these as well :'D
Well actually I just have to convince my wife xd
I gotta build it and ima fix the defensive wall!
Have you tried the builder app?
I watched the instructions on RUclips. They should have printed instructions regardless though
Good idea.
