- When broadcaster and comedian Sami Shah met academic Kylie Moore-Gilbert through a dating app, they were both piecing their lives back together.
She was coming to terms with her recent release from an Iranian prison and the discovery her husband had left her for one of her colleagues while she was in detention.
He was recovering from being dumped from his ABC Melbourne radio show and the collapse of his second marriage.
Thrown together by Melbourne’s long Covid lockdown, they both had to learn to trust again. But love blossomed and they recently celebrated the birth of a baby girl.

Well researched, perfectly edited, exceptional photography, and a beautiful love story that made me laugh, made me cry, then uplifted my emotions. I remember watching Kylie's interview on 60 Minutes more than a year ago. It's terrible that she endured so much in the last couple of years. Seeing this video makes me really happy for her. She has a beautiful family. I wish her and her family the very best in life. 😊❤

I started reading Kylie's BOOK today. That's why I decided to watch her interviews again ( when she had left prison). Now, what wonderful news: you've found thiiii life; the happiest and sweetiest version of the life you dreamed of. Much love to all the family ❤. I'm genuinely happy. 😃

its not easy to trust again , have a relationship again, let go of the past, crawl out of depression, anger issues, come out of the bitterness. it takes a lot of courage, stability of mind to outgrow all of this.

I admire the maturity of the daughter.
Kylie Moore-Gilbert's book The Uncaged Sky is an important read that perhaps gives some clues as to her extraordinary forbearance.. such as continuing a relationship after his initial dreadful gaffe!. I imagine hearing a comment like that could have sent her into disocciation for the rest of that date. I wish this documentary had explored more from her how she dealt with that.
