Wow guys, I followed your guide and now have a functioning phone that looks better than it did when i bought it new. I can't thank you enough and keep up the great work!
Dear Fixez, that is just one hell of a professional video! Really amazing and secure job you did there. Finally a disassembly video which is HD, clear voice and a got a very good view/zoom on what you're doing. I Guess you just helped a lot of people trying to repair this hell-to-disassembly-phone. Keep it up man! :)
Fantastic display of patience and skill! I don't think I am going to be opening my M7 any time soon, unless it is necessary. Congrats and thank you for this amazing video.
Yours housing comes apart like butter, mine for some reason is almost like its one whole piece and i'm trying to cut away at it slowly to try and even get down to where I can get any grip on the housing
quick though... I have followed your guided step by step very thoroughly! Then the same with the reassembly guide! You have made a critical mistake! The light blue and grey wires are in different positions at 6:16 and at 7:00. The correct position is at 6:16. During your reassemble video you put the cables the wrong way! They are obviously the wires for the wifi antenna and the result is very poor wifi! Please put an annotation so people dont get it wrong!
Perfect tutorial video! searched a lot of videos and this is definitely the best one out there, at first I thought that would be an impossible task and I will definitely fail but lets try it anyway, then following your every step clear guide I didn't even find it that hard anymore and my HTC is good as new again! this video and the reassemble video is perfection! You guys are the best! Thank you so so soooo much!
Could you please add a Note / Caption around 7:00 that states the WiFi antenna is in the wrong position. The blue antenna should be on the right-most connector (blue cable should be below grey cable without crossing over). This could be a reason why so many people have WiFi issues after a screen repair.
Thanks very good video quality and detailed steps. My HTC One has a bad digitizer but the front glass is okay, can i replace only the digitizer ? if so which steps do i really need.
Mine has 5 (not 4) coaxial connectors. This one is on the bottom middle of the motherboard as shown at 9:54, and connects just under the blue and black pair on the bottom left. Also, there is a flat, brown, rectangular small bit of wire enclosed in plastic that is glued to the to the side just bottom left of the buttons and needs to be removed around 12:45 with the buttons. (It connects to the other end of that extra coaxial connector)
I am going to try to repair my phone soon. I can't see if you are using a anti static wrist band, and I know people make a big deal about them when working on computers. Do you recommend using one when repairing my phone or just discharging before I start should be enough?
I have followed your guide in replacing the display assembly on my HTC One but I have run into a little problem. I haven't put the back cover on yet so I could test the functionality of the phone and the lower speaker is not working. I was wondering, does the lower speaker require the back cover to be in place? I did notice a few connections on the back cover itself
Hello i was wondering if it was possible to remover the front metal speaker grills and replace them , i wanna buy some new ones because my phone is really dinged up
Hi I don't need to replace the screen, at least not yet anyways, but my screen is starting to come off. As in the adhesive is not holding it anymore. Would I have to replace the entire screen or is there a way to replace the adhesive that no longer holds?
I need to replace the earpiece speaker (top speaker). It is fried, buzzing and zapping like crazy. Do I have to remove the display assy. first, then the speaker grille, or can I remove the speaker grille to access the speaker unit for replacement? BTW, great video. Amazing technical skill. Very high quality. Kudos!
Firstly thank you for the great video. Just one question my htc M7 is not cracked but has far too many scratches on the display screen is there any any possibility of removing or clearing the scratches ?
since you can't pull the battery without disassembling the phone first should it be drained to the point where it turns itself off and also would it even be wise to try and replace my lcd if I've never done it before on any phone the htc one seems like it is for advanced users taking the whole phone apart and putting it back together just to replace the screen
I'm only trying to replace the broken glass. Do I need to remove the whole front panel and move the motherboard onto the replacement? Can't I just stop at step 1 and pull off the screen from my replacement and stick to the phone?
hey man i followed every step but when i replaced the top speaker, i followed your advice and tried it out before putting on the new back plate, it turned on normal but i played a song and the new top speaker had no sound and i tried using the camera but it didnt active (im wondering if not putting on a back cover doesnt allow my camera or top speaker to function?) or did i miss something other than installing the back cover? oh and the top speaker had sound before the repair.
Hi, I liked your video you are doing a great job, My HTC M7 dropped down in wash basin while i was washing my face. Now its not turning on can you tell what problem it can circuit board or LCD?
+Abdul Sami Possible that your motherboard is bad now, water damage is tough to come back from. You may want to try a new battery first. Difficult to conclude what if anything would repair your device. Sorry about that.
Dear Fixez i have a question there are 3 cables that you connect to the motherboard one is blue the other is gray;i ripped the long black one do you know were can i buy one? thank u
Hi there, just want to check, during my disassembly, I realised that the screws which hold the battery in place are smaller than the other screws. Additionally, one of my screw heads has lost its threading and I cannot unscrew it. Is there any way to remove the screw without damaging the board?
Guys, be very careful when removing earpiece speaker as it can easily be cracked. It went apart in two pieces when I was trying to take it out...so be careful. Another thing is I recommend to buy the rear housing as well. All in all good video, thanks!
Thanks for the video, it has been incredibly helpful in my attempt to salvage my M7 after dropping it from an extreme height. Any idea which of the coaxial cables handles transmitting the cellular signal to the device? I'm guessing it's one of the long black ones running down each side of the device as those are the only two I've disconnected and reconnected and while the phone was getting almost no reception after the fall, it's now getting absolutely none. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi dear Fixez.com Team, I am very experienced with Iphones and tried this Display-Repair-Guide. Unfortunately the new Display is not working (just black), although the Touch Screen Assembly is working, because I can feel the feedback on touches. I reassembled both Display ribbon-cables, but no difference. Could the Display be broken or do I have to put the whole frontpiece into the aluminium backpiece?
Hey man I cracked the glass screen of my HTC one m7 but the display and screen still works fine is there an easier way to just replace the cracked glass?
+Biotic_Commando +Joseph Timbs Unfortunately no. The LCD and the glass (digitizer) come as one piece. You'll end up breaking the LCD when trying to remove the glass.
I have a question my motherboard on my htc one m7 was on at&t and I Brock it if I buy a sprint motherboard would it would cause right know my carrier is sprint
Hi, I just replaced the LCD screen assembly on my HTC One M7 thanks to your video : ) I had a broken glass silver one and replaced for a black one everything was working fine except for the broken glass but not now is NOT detecting the SIM Card any suggestions ? I will really appreciate your help...thanks
Hello, All went well except I have a few 'blurry' lines on the screen. They seem to "follow" a line of text as I swipe up and down. Any ideas? Thank you
Hi I have a problem on my M7 it seems like the backlight is not functioning so the screen is really dim but it is still useful in a way that I could use playing music but I cant really see the display. What should I do?
Hola, en qué parte se encuentra la tarjeta de memoria interna que lleva? para ver si puedo rescatar la información que tiene allí ya que mi celular no prendió más, graciaas
dear Sir, I replaced my HTC screen as u explained but now only the bottom half of the screen is tactile and the top half is not answering, any suggestion, thks a lot
Is it possible to only replace the glass? I have cracked my screen, but the digitizer works perfectly. It is just a cosmetic defect at this point. I wouldn't mind replacing the glass if I don't have to mess with the entire display assembly. Thanks!
Great video, might try this myself for my cracked HTC One, I took apart a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 before and this seems more difficult but should be fun to try. Just one question, why did you take the screen out at the start of the video - unless I am mistaken it is not necessary if replacing the whole screen & frame assembly - I am guessing you just showed this for people who buy the LCD/Digitizer on its own, or am I missing something?
***** so you would recommend not skipping that part - that it makes it easier to take the assembly off when the screen is out (makes it more flexible I guess?). Thanks!
Thanks for the awesome video! I changed my screen about a year ago went flawlessly. My luck it got broke again about a month later and I decided just to get another phone. Now that I have realized how much I missed my HTC One, I put another screen in it..but this time when I went to power it on all it will do is flash the lower lights as I hold the power button in. I can plug it into charger and will not show that it is charging. Any idea as to what is going on? I took it back apart and everything looks great.
Jolteon420 this is why you should really pay attention to the video... now I am looking at buying a motherboard. I bent a bunch of the prongs for the lcd display by trying to pry it open from the black end rather than the white end. :(
i was charging my htc one m7 then suddenly i noticed that the charging port has melted, i found that a replacement for charging port is available.... should i buy that fix from some near store?
Great job guys and an awesome video... I just want to know is it possible to fix only the earpiece and front camera, top cover since i dropped my phone accidentally. Thankfully my screen did not damage and the phone is working fine, but the top cover popped out from one edge...
Since my issue is only cosmetic and does not affect the functionality of the phone or the camera, its only the top metallic piece that has popped out from one corner, could you recommend any off the shelf adhesive which might be useful to ensure a tight and reliable fix if applied to put it back in its position. Thanks...
Nauman Bokhary Exact same thing happened to me, annoyingly though - dust managed to get into the tiny tiny gap due to the bent front plate, and has gotten behind the plastic of the front camera so it's virtually unusable now. Very annoying since it all works, just this stupid dust.
Hi, After this reassembly, my phone doesnt see my sim card... can you tell me where should I look, which cable, or connection is the one what can be resposible for the sim? Thanks
+MisstaMan If you purchased the screen assembly with the frame, there is a small flex cable connection where you insert the sim card. Ensure this connection was made and if the issue continues, it may have been damaged or the assembly may be faulty.
Hi, I followed this post and after putting the phone back together, it would not boot up. I'm very nervous. I would hate to know that I bricked my phone. Does disconnecting the battery erase or corrupt the bootloader?
Nice video! I am interested in buying a few things from your store but feel hesitant. Are you selling original htc parts or just high quality replacement parts as you say? Who is your supplier? Any buyer experiences here? Thanks.
Great video. However I have an issue with WiFi connectivity, the signal strength is really bad and does not work 2m away from the router. It powers up and everything else is OK. Please help!!
I hate to be that guy, but I was following you videos, which are amazing btw, and got all the way to the end. Now I'm fairly certain I followed every step to the tee after a few mess ups. My issue is the phone won't turn on now. It blinks around 14 times give or take in the lower right part of the screen, vibrates, then black screen again.
***** Yeah I was hoping the symptoms were of a specific issue that was easy to identify. I had scrubbed through your video several times even started back from the beginning of the reassembly to see if I missed anything. Upon closer inspection I realized that one of the pins are missing from the lcd connection on the left side of the phone if you were looking at it up right. (Just to confirm the lcd cable is the middle ribbon snap in on the left right?) I think its safe to assume thats the issue so am I screwed or is it at all possible to restore this connection say through careful and precise soldering or something?
Oh and to answer your questions (if it helps at all) I did buy the LCD, Touch screen, and frame. My mess ups mainly only consisted of destroying the original frame, putting the some of the co-axial cable back into the wrong place and now I'm assuming I broke that pin which is on the motherboard. Which is why I'm concerned I'm screwed. Also would a defective loud speaker or a loud speaker connection that isn't seating correctly possibly cause any issues with the display?
Do not order from this company. I ordered a total of 3 screens on 2 different orders. First was for a LG G2 and digitizer came with dead spots. Order another LG G2 and a G3 screen, and the G2 came cracked. I contacted customer service about it and they wouldnt replace the screen, tried to blame it on UPS which there was no damage to the box. Will never order from this company again.
but what when only the glass (which is on top surface and protects the screen) is cracked? In my HTC M7 I cracked the glass but not the touch screen. It works perfectly fine even on cracked spot. Is there a possibilty to dismount protecting glass apart from the touch screen and replace it??
+Spychu1993 We would not recommend trying to replace the glass only as it's fused to the LCD. Hence we offer the LCD and Touch screen with the frame. This would be your best method to move forward with a repair on this unit.
I dropped my phone pretty hard (ok maybe it was thrown) but there doesn't appear to be any body damage but the screen doesn't turn on. But the two lower buttons still light up (the home and the back arrow) do you believe that this is the part I need from your website to fix it? Thanks
Hi. My m7's wifi is not functioning very well for the last couple of mnths. I cant even connect to a wifi network. The wifi is just stuck at turning on. The wifi icon in the quick settings just keeps on blinking leaving me unable to turn my wifi off. I tried factory reset and wipe cache partition whtever that is but still none has done good for me. Is itpossible that the wifi hrdwre is the one defective and u may hve to open my device like this for repair. Ill appreciate ur reply. Thank you in advance nd more power \m/
My model has a built in sim card, it is just "HTC one", no M7. I took it to a cell repair store, they told me they wouldn't replace it - it loses sensitivity and it's too difficult. He didn't make sense though, cause it's all one unit. I don't know, I might just wait it out until an upgrade. My problem is like the guy below, just cosmetic screen glass cracks.
I never cracked a screen on a phone in my life till now...., i owned cell phones since 2005. I would have a phone for ears then get a new one, and all were never broken. i use to have some random prepaid phone , then I had a flip screen samsung cigular phone i forgot what modle was called, then after that i had a Rant 2007 to 2009, then a Mytouch, then i got a HTC one M7, i had this since 2013 and still have it and just today it fell on the floor and the screen cracked! its the first time in my entire life i had cracked a screen!
I took it apart and now i have put it back together...when i turn it on..it makes this strange midi noise..originally i had the blue and grey/silver wires in the incorrect locations..i switched them now nothing..just a warm phone with a weird noise. HELP
Sadly, my ear piece speaker was glued down so securely that I ripped out the copper wire as I was replacing my screen and a few other components. I should have ordered a new one then and there, but as the copper wire wasn't broken, I thought the speaker might still work OK. Boy was I wrong. I cannot hear anything except buzzing on a phone call, and voices are filled with static on speaker phone. This was such a difficult repair but now I'm stuck with wondering whether it's worth opening it back up again, potentially breaking my new screen, just so I can make the phone do what a phone is supposed to be able to do.
***** Thank you for getting back to me. Im now using the computer usb port to attempt a power on. I have already tried a Samsung usb travel mains plug with: 5.0v 0.7amps. I left it overnight. But that didnt work. I dont understand, i done everything in this video textbook style, i was very meticulous but yet the battery is goosed??? Would i be right in saying "one a lithium ion battery is left to die for a few days its dead forever"?
Same. :( A bit of research shows the anntennae on the top and bottom are the little metal points which touch the back plate in in insulated places... perhaps after reassembly, the connections aren't tight enough. Try beind the points to stand up a little higher?
Can someone please help me out here? I left my HTC one m7 at a phone repair shop. To replace the cracked LCD / Glass. They repaired it today in the morning but said that it had to stay with them until tomorrow. They explained that they had to put some weight on the screen/phone for some hours or it might fall apart. Is this normal? I'm kinda worried because for me it doesn't make any sence. Anyone can explain why they have to do it? because they glued it or something??
Well, i have a problem, i've done all this, everything went great but after I started the phone, i've notice the speaker dose not work fine so I had to re-adjust the speaker, I've placed everything back on and now the phone won't turn on! If I plug in the cable to charge the phone, the screen turns on with the batery that is being charged and the red led turns on. Do you have any Idea what might be the issue? I've tryed everything, power button + volume buttons and bla bla, I've disconected the batery several times, still didnt work... Any idea how I could fix this?
You need glue for that, use adhesive of any sticky glue that will stick to metal, you could try opening and up, maybe you'll find a screw that fell off or something
I have the same problem with my htc one. Is this normal with other phones? And did you try taking the screen off and putting it back. I'm scared that I might damage my LCD. Plss reply thanks.
I bought the touch screen only. I dont need to replace the whole screen. I mean the LCD is fine, I bought the outer screen. I dont know how to do it.If i follow ur instructions I will dissemble the whole thing out
this screen is genuine? where do I find it to buy? I learned that you have to change the whole housing, because the original is destroyed when it collapsed, is it true?
hola mi htc one m7 enciende anda bien pero cuando se apaga la pantalla luego no enciende mas apretas el boton encendido y no hace nada recibi una llamada y tampoco enciende lo tenes que apagar y reiniciar asi si enciende me podes ayudar
If you can not hear the caller, you may simply require a new ear piece speaker. Here are all the parts we offer www.fixez.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=htc+m7
Great video but to much hassle the cost of the screen in the UK is around £50. My local shop will buy the part repair it fully for £80 Inc VAT. I am happy to pay the extra £30 and save myself most likely destroying my phone with a hammer when I become frustrated!
Good job, this video is very wonderful. screwdriver, tweezers, opening tools and so on are necessaries to fix your cellohone. Maybe vipprogrammer can give you best price.
no guys! it looks really hard but I've just changed my lcd following this video step by step and it's good as new! you can totally fix it for 20$ instead of buying a new phone, this tutorial is awesome!
Guide is 10 years old and still the best out there. Much love
Wow guys, I followed your guide and now have a functioning phone that looks better than it did when i bought it new. I can't thank you enough and keep up the great work!

E' UN GRANDE AIUTO PER I SFIGATI PROPRIETARI DI HTC ONE M7, E' UNA VERSIONE IPERCOMPLICATA!!!
COMUNQUE MILLE GRAZIE!
My HTC One has a bad digitizer but the front glass is okay, can i replace only the digitizer ? if so which steps do i really need.

can i replace just the back cover without having any issue or have to get a new frame or front cover?
that is a lot of work, not to sure if I'm willing to tackle this but its good to know to do it and seeing our phones internal workings.
I am going to try to repair my phone soon. I can't see if you are using a anti static wrist band, and I know people make a big deal about them when working on computers. Do you recommend using one when repairing my phone or just discharging before I start should be enough?

Hi! is this coaxioal black cabel 9:55 min wireless cabel or antenna or...?
mine is broken, can i buy it from aliexpress at what name or link :)
+Ainar Tamm The black cable is normally for your wireless signal but it may be WiFi antenna.
Can I change the battery on the 801s by any other way? I believe it doesnt have the plastic back
Can you do a HTC Desire 820 disassembly?
Do you guys know what type of adhesive is used for the speaker grills?

Nauman Bokhary Exact same thing happened to me, annoyingly though - dust managed to get into the tiny tiny gap due to the bent front plate, and has gotten behind the plastic of the front camera so it's virtually unusable now. Very annoying since it all works, just this stupid dust.
Also if I replace the screen will it still keep all the phones memory?
Hi,
After this reassembly, my phone doesnt see my sim card... can you tell me where should I look, which cable, or connection is the one what can be resposible for the sim?
Thanks.
good vid! I have a question, how do I fix the lcd with the frame if I bought with no frame? Thanks! :)
Thanks! and is a hair dryer enough or do I have to necessarily get a heat gun?

My wifi is not working after screen replacement. De wifi cable is attached correctly tried is several times. what can I do?
+Spychu1993 I got the same problem. Went to authorized HTC service center, they told me I need to change the entire framework which is very expensive
Salsa Bwz in my local accesories shop they want 200zł - 60$ for only glass replacement
They offered me $130 for the entire framework, not including purple tint camera for $20. I rather buy a new phone.
+Spychu1993 We would not recommend trying to replace the glass only as it's fused to the LCD. Hence we offer the LCD and Touch screen with the frame. This would be your best method to move forward with a repair on this unit.
***** ehhh, I will wait a little and get iphone 6s+
I dropped my phone pretty hard (ok maybe it was thrown) but there doesn't appear to be any body damage but the screen doesn't turn on. But the two lower buttons still light up (the home and the back arrow) do you believe that this is the part I need from your website to fix it? Thanks
Buy a new HTC instead.
i open mine but not like this .why you keep using metal thing for opening that?
Make a video for desire 816 LCD glass replacement only
Hi how can i extract my videos from my HTC One. Cause it won't go past the HTC logo & I don't want to factory reset it ! Please help !
Hi there, i have just replaced my screen in my HTC One M7 phone but the battery is showing 0% and an ! exclamation mark.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Thank you for getting back to me.
*****
Thank you very much for that ;) I will try this.
G Man
Couldnt find genuine htc charger but a new battery from ebay sorted the issue at hand. Now powering on fine. Thanks again.
great video! i've managed to repair the screen!!! thanks! but my wifi reception is extreemly poor after the replacement. any thoughts ***** ?
I have the same isuue. ***** please help.
Same. :( A bit of research shows the anntennae on the top and bottom are the little metal points which touch the back plate in in insulated places... perhaps after reassembly, the connections aren't tight enough. Try beind the points to stand up a little higher?
you'd have to remove the full screen first, then remove the LCD so it's a little easier to the mantra that you do in this video thanks
Any idea how I could fix this?
i can change the part of the front camera without buy the entire piece?
so what i need to do the frame of the front camera is broke...
TENGO EL HTC ONE M7,PERO LA CAMARA TIENE FALLA, PRESENTA UNA COLORACION ROJISA Y LAS FOTOS SALEN ROJAS, QUE PUEDO HACER?
hi sir can u upload new video on how to repair power button on lenovo p700i please
Mine htc screen is like left side is lower than right side. Will it help if i take the screen off and put it back?
You need glue for that, use adhesive of any sticky glue that will stick to metal, you could try opening and up, maybe you'll find a screw that fell off or something
Okay :)
I have the same problem with my htc one. Is this normal with other phones? And did you try taking the screen off and putting it back. I'm scared that I might damage my LCD. Plss reply thanks.
I didn't tried that out yet, I'm a bit scared too of it. Nice to hear, I'm not the only one. :)
I was a bit worried when i found this issue, Please do inform me, if you ever try to fix your phone :).
***** The product is original? or similar good quality?
The white part between frames comes together?
my Htc one stopped working and i don't know what to do help me
This makes the screen replacement of a Galaxy S4 seem like playing with megablox vs working on the HTC One like Lego mindstorms.
haha :D top comment
hola mi htc one m7 enciende anda bien pero cuando se apaga la pantalla luego no enciende mas apretas el boton encendido y no hace nada recibi una llamada y tampoco enciende lo tenes que apagar y reiniciar asi si enciende me podes ayudar
Please tell me the way ,my htc s speaker doesn't work.I can't hear anything when I call someone n in any incoming call
If you can not hear the caller, you may simply require a new ear piece speaker. Here are all the parts we offer www.fixez.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=htc+m7
Is this something that anyone can do? It looks kinda difficult.
Very very nice your video
You can remove display using Suction Cup as IFixIt
can yall do HTC desire 510
Thanks
could u please show me the storage ram
how to change the front houseing on a HTC one m7
+Rajuan Palmer You can follow this process but do not remove the LCD and Touch screen. This should help you seek the repair you are attempting.
Man this fones a pain! Dont forget the little hidden plastic bit by the charge port...
this all mobile phone same r no... plz say I open the L G x power...
Thanks - useful video (for convincing me to just buy a new phone instead!). :)
exactly!
no guys! it looks really hard but I've just changed my lcd following this video step by step and it's good as new! you can totally fix it for 20$ instead of buying a new phone, this tutorial is awesome!
