    Hello, Tori, Just purchased the pattern and I am excited to sew all the styles. Do you sew with a straight stitch or a zig zag? And what is the length and width of the stitch? Thank you for the video. I am a visual learner and like seeing how a project is completed!

    • @madcaphats
      @madcaphats  9 месяцев назад

      Hi Kitty! Thanks for purchasing the pattern! I use a straight stitch for just about all of my sewing. Average lenght flucuates from 3 to 4 and inbetween. I have an industrial machine however so my results and stitches might be different than yours if you are using a portable machine. Sew the stitch you use for fleece and what works best for your machine. You should experiment a bit on some scraps to get the right result. Hope that helps! Tori

    Quick question. The 4 pieces for the top are a single later and the band is all that is double?

    • @madcaphats
      @madcaphats  Год назад

      Yes Sandra ... single layer on the top and double layer around the face, ears and back of neck.

    which way are the strips for the ties cut? stretchiest going the long way, or the stretchiest going the narrow width? or does it matter?

    • @madcaphats
      @madcaphats  Год назад

      Narrow width. You don't want them to stretch out of shape.

  • @sandragrant254
    @sandragrant254 Год назад +1

    And the ties for the ear flap. Are they cut stretch length wise or width wise?

    • @madcaphats
      @madcaphats  Год назад

      They are cut so they don't stretch length wise. The opposite of the band and top. That is the only thing that makes this project need a half of a yard or meter of fleece so you can cut ties long enough. But the good thing is with that amount of fabric, you can likely make two of these hats.

    Just wanting to purchase the pattern on etsy and if I'm in Canada I would order the letter size. Is that correct?

    • @madcaphats
      @madcaphats  Год назад +1

      Hi Joanne ... Letter size is Canada that is correct. A4 is the size of paper they use in Europe and Asia. Letter size paper is what our printers use in Canada and the USA. Thank you!

    Are the ties stitched together?

    • @madcaphats
      @madcaphats  Год назад +1

      No they are only sewn into the bottom of the earflaps. Just loosely tie them under the chin if needed. You could see them together at a point where it is comfortable if you prefer.
