My dog had a cooked chicken shaped rubber toy. probably the most fun with a toy she ever had, rolling around on her back while "holding" it with her paws and squeaking it was so cute. She also did the thing where she would burry toys in blankets with her nose, it was also cute.

The problem is they just j haven’t been domesticated long. I think like only 60 generations or do. Right now there only at the level of being friendly to humans and having less aggressive features and adrenaline. But there Definitely on the way to full on house pets.

I'm in Italy. A wild fox comes regularly to play. with one of my cats. I find her outside my door waiting for him. I let him out and off they go. When I call him back in after hours, they come running together. Amazing to me. Then I found out it's quite common for wild foxes to choose cats for playmates. 🦊😽
Finnegan's going grey like the rest of us. I could never deal with having a fox in the house but it's great to see someone who can and provide an opportunity for others to see the upside of having one. He's a great little guy.

So amazing that even when Finnegan is ancting territorial/possessive, it doesn't go beyond a warning nip (if it's even a nip) when you reach for whatever he's guarding. Shows how much trust there is, both Finnegan trusting a warning nip will be enough, and the caretaker trusting that Finnegan won't do more than that. There's something really precious about him being able to express his wants safely.

Seeing Finnegan love his old toy more than a new one is so heartwarming. Many of us out there have that thing that we've had for a long time that we still love a lot am I right? Also, Finnegan trying to bury the fox in the blanket with his nose was adorable and funny!
Years ago, one of our dogs would try to "bury" his rawhide bone in the carpet. He would rub his nose raw trying to push the carpet over the toy. And then, just when he thought it was hidden, I would go pick it up. The look he gave me was sheer disgust. And it was funny, too.
The whole thing was funny, but especially that last part where he was trying to run away with the ball from the cat toy.🤣 I wonder if he thought it was an egg but regardless, it was meant to be his and not the cats'!

Finnegan does not pee on everything in sight. There are people who are knowledgeable about foxes and know what it takes to care for them. Obviously foxes are different from dogs and cats.
Mikayla's "fox collection" demonstrates that whilst you can actually domesticate a wild animal, it's still very much a wild animal. Finnegan's instincts were on fine display in this video. Alot of territorial pissing, the fierceness of his reactions to having "his" property interfered with in any way, & the very deliberate & purposeful attack on the mouse in the toy that demonstrates how he'd make a quick meal out of it if he could. Sure, his lunges at Mikayla whilst he thinks she wants to take a toy away from him only go so far. But once he's even slightly riled up the wild animal in him is just raging to act out, his trust in Mikayla's intentions disappear with alarming suddeness. And this from the "most friendly" of all the foxes in her care? It's also really interesting to observe a fox's very cat-like behaviours; Finn's reflexes, the way he attacks the cat's "mouse track" toy, the vocalizations that definitely suggest some cat to them, & then there's the shape of their pupils. All makes sense if you knew that dogs & cats evolved from a common ancestor, something I didn't realize before I discovered this channel...

@@catlady4799 from what I heard videos ago he’s on medication to assist his liver issues and he should be okay for now. His lifespan is like 10 years if tamed and in a controlled environment

It's probably cuz of Finn's liver problems recently
Its cold and Finnie starts to get a bit of a senior. His liver is not the best anymore so I assume she let him in to protect him from harsh environment

@@catlady4799 from what I heard videos ago he’s on medication to assist his liver issues and he should be okay for now. His lifespan is like 10 years if tamed and in a controlled environment

Oh man... this is how we know you are dedicated. You talk about the peeing everywhere, but to see him actually do it... It has been bad enough when I had a cat with a UTI peeing on things, I cannot imagine a big old fox doing it... or many foxes! Thanks for taking such good care of these sweet, but wild, animals.
