  • Mega Man is a series I have a very complicated history with, Growing up most of my life not sure if I even liked it or not; From it's overly complicated branching timeline lore to it's difficulty being a lot more tough compared to the likes of anything I had played from Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog or even Pac-Man. This wasn't helped by a weird, elitist fanbase at the time whom really led me to an on-and-off love/hate relationship.
Years later though, without being influenced by negativity from the fanbase (along with their weird insistence it was something meant to be super realistic or intense) or elsewhere on the Internet: I grew to appreciate the games a lot more, even if I feel they only got better as the technology progressed... save for 9 and 10, which I was not pleased with the direction of. Even then, I stuck primarily to the mainline classic continuity for being easy to jump into and follow along.
While Mega Man isn't my favorite mascot franchise, I appreciate him as a gaming icon and as a video game mascot; And I can safely say he deserves his staying power.
The music is the Japanese theme of Mega Man 8, one of my favorite games in the entire franchise.
