Listened to this on repeat for over an hour. Beautiful song. 1st John 4:7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Thank you so v much. Most grateful. Thank You Sweet JESUS, for allU have done & r ddoing for me. Through the Precious Blood that flowed from Your Holy Wounds, I declare Your Healing to walk again MM
My grandmother is a very good christian, she makes mistakes though like us all. But she and her mother are/were very great christians although my great-grandma died before my birth. I wish I could have met her she sounds very nice. Mary Leota (great-grandma) was abused by her husband but she loved him dearly. I wish I had the faith like them but one time I repented and now I lost the call, please, pray for me! My dad's mom has not loved me or my sister so life is hard but I got my grandmother!!!
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (August 31), I attended worship at a local Presbyterian Church. We sang this as the Hymn of Faith.
I love this. My absolutely favorite thing about it is how you've brilliantly swapped the order of the lyrics in the last verse! I remember singing this in church growing up, and I always felt really depressed singing "Lies silent in the grave" repeatedly. "I'll sing Thy power to save" is a much better line to repeat. Thank you.
Missed the stanza " The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day. And there have I though vile as he, washed all my sins away washed all my sins away, washed all my sins away. And there have I though vile as he washed all my sins away.
This is a really beautiful song , I can't stand all the music in the background like the drums . I go to a southern Independent Baptist Church who use the old red hymnals and I go to a small church God has blessed me with . We have someone to play the piano and really , that is all this song needs : a piano and a church that sings for Christ and God , not for others.
To each his own. Some might think the drums add to the worship experience. Also keep in mind the musicians playing, even the drummer, are worshipping through their individual gifts. Yes, maybe this song does sounds great with just a piano and voices. But don't assume or imply that the musicians on this recording are only playing for the benefit of themselves or others and not for God simply because it doesn't match your musical preference. Psalm 150:5
Nathan Jones it's funny because I was so wrapped up in the lyrics and the message that I didn't notice what instruments were playing until I read your comment.
I agree wholeheartedly Nathan. And I even try to adapt musical styles like Dio and Scorpions to Charles Wesley's unknown lyrics and he was a prolific writer. One poster said 'to each his own'. That is how the world thinks. This version of There is a Fountain is an abomination. This is the Smashing Pumpkins version. All these new singers also sound the same, sounding effeminate, and that AWFUL 'vocal fry' that many do. If there was a vocalist like Ronnie James Dio doing this, guaranteed it would send shivers down people's necks, and would blow this current abomination to the wind. I get tired of the modern 'metro-gay' style of singing.
you will be shocked how noisy heaven is like!! full of shout of praise, trumpets, cymbals, strings etc.... let people worship how they know best, it is about the heart and God
Nathan Jones Our church in Melbourne Australia is unable to meet as we are under stage 4 lockdown. Having these hymns on RUclips allows us to worship together yet separately, to avoid spreading COVID to our vulnerable older parishioners.
I truly enjoy the old hymns, but I do see the need to hype up some of them for the new generation too! I should totally record some southern baptist gospel music and post is for the youtube community!
You sound like a great family person and don't worry you have the greatest family of all, God and Jesus.. and us as well ! We love you.. Keep well and peace...
Actually, yes they do because today's generation of young Christian men and women are growing up listening to drivel and calling it worship. We need hymns because they root us in theology and force us to focus on God and not ourselves. Unfortunately, you're not going to get today's young person to listen to an old song sung in an old way. Today's young person is used to loud guitars and high orchestration. Give it to them. The music is just a vehicle for the powerful lyrics. Let them praise God!
That's where you're wrong. I actually prefer old hymns above contemporary music. Some contemporary is good, but I would do it for Bible Studies more than a Sunday Morning service. And another thing is that worship is labor for the Lord. Sunday Morning is a time for Praise. Worship goes throughout your life. I agree with you however on the hymnals, it focuses on Christ and Praising him.
Hi We have a translation of this song in Malayalam. In my song book, there are 4 tunes given. I know those 4 tunes. But is there a version in English with the other tunes? According to my book, the other tunes are arranged by H. Wilson and Septimus Winner.
Please re read my first sentence in my original post and then turn on any contemporary Christian music radio station. I'm not wrong. Unfortunately, I am quite right.
Just so you can be encouraged: I am fifteen years old and my sister, my friends, and I listen to hymns and love them :) Praise be to God!

I was lost in the rain again 'til I found this song. When will it the ever end? Help me Jesus, please.

I'm with you guys on this, there is no better way to praise God but through Hymns and vocal worship!

The fountain that flows with blood, indeed cleanses us from the guilty stains.Thank you Jesus for the blood at calvary.

I am unworthy of your love lord for I have turned and sinned, I feel mine is worse than others and is undeserving of forgiveness.
God's love is unconditional.....no matter what bad u have done he'll forgive all of it...since u are nd forevr his child❤
agree with wejpasaden1...the older hymns can stand alone, with the harmony and the proper pace and harmony.

Can you share the Malayalam version's name, please..? I would love to learn it.
I don't understand the need for big loud preface to the song. Is the song not enough by itself? Do the old hymns need to be hyped?
I heard this song before
because you don't know what they speak about in this song
and further more you need to be born again
Who is it singing this?
Same question bro
Help me. I am tired
B r a d K i s s i n g e r you ok?

Whoever compiled these lyrics destroyed a perfectly good hymn with African Voodoo Witchcraft drum beats
but I don't like it
