God of War or Assassin's Creed franchise, which one?
Don't forget to drop a like. LET'S HIT 1,000 LIKES! :)
GOD of WAR although i got to admit that AC ones are more accurate ( at least when it comes to accent )
God of War wins no diff
GOW seems to be infinite times better than AC
You either recognize that Assassin’s Creed is better in every way, or you’re wrong. No two ways about it.
@@assassinscreedislife7636 Says the man with Assasins creed in his name
No shit you think its better, but most people who arent ravenous fanboys think the other way.
Your mind was made up before Ragnorok came out. You would never think anything ever would be better than AC.
Thor in Valhalla has so little presence while in God Of War Ragnarok he feels like an actual god that inspires fear and intimidation just by looking at you.
At least he has better armor. I don’t mind fat Thor but there’s literally no reason for him to have his fucking belly out the entire game like imagine how much better he would’ve looked in Asgardian clothing/armor
@@josephstalin2606 realistic yes he would have more protection, but it wouldn't fit his berserker personality
@@Vittoo Again absolutely no reason for him to not atleast wear a shirt. The devs just wanted to rub fat Thor in everyone’s faces by having him shirtless while only wearing shoulder pads lmao like tf is the point of shoulder pads when he had a huge target on his belly already
@@josephstalin2606 I dunno, rubbing “fat Thor” in everyone’s faces doesn’t seem like what they’re doing to me. I think the GOW games just like showing shirtless warriors. Kratos is often shirtless, the male einherjars are mostly shirtless, most of the Greek gods in the OG games were shirtless. It’s just part of their aesthetic. It doesn’t necessarily make sense or have to lol. It’s just their artistic direction
@@josephstalin2606 kratos was shirtless for entire 3 games and I don't see your fatphobic ass complaining
AC Valhalla Ratatoskr : What say you, High one ??
GoWR Ratatoskr : STOP WITH THE STUPID CHIME !!!!
GOWR ratatoskr: king dragon sends his regards.
@@basimali619 AH i see you are a man of culture
@@basimali619 *hits gun away*
"Ah, Valhalla's Ratatoskr can't be that bad, maybe- oh holy shit what is that"
It's literally just human body tracking put on a pre-modeled squirrels body, the hands specifically are freaky
Ratatoskr is the only one who can yell Kratos and still getting alive.
Brok is the only one who is asked for weapon blessing by Kratos after kneeling down willingly.
The difference between AC AND GOW is that AC characters are acting on stereotypes of the story we know, it feel like a video game. While GOW has is recreating the character to tell a story, it feels more cinematic and grand.
So ac is better? Since these 2 are *videogames* not *movies*
I think it’s less that but more they’re very different stories
The Gods in Valhalla are bound by the perceptions of Eivor, they’re the Gods she/he imagined.
God of War uses the Gods as vessels to tell a story about generational violence and fate. They’re very different approaches and there’s pros and cons to both
@@Slavic_Snake I heavily disagree, but then again that might just depend on preferences
@@Slavic_Snake is not better or worse, just a different approach. But GoW does a better job with the story.
@@Slavic_Snake agreed
I feel that the versions of the gods in ac is like an npc in skyrim mod,but in Gow they look like a movie
That's what makes AC games weak imo. Movements, body languages and comversations of the characters are giving some kind of robotic vibe to me and my interest is getting lower every time i feel that. I appreciate the storylines of the game but ubisoft have to work for whole decade on the issues at hand. Fingers crossed 🤞 for Mirage but I believe we will see the same shits again with different environment and storyline. I hope they will prove me wrong tho.
But we are playing games, not watching movies you know
@@smetan2706 I've played both and GoW is better gameplay-wise also.
Couldn't say it better 😂
@@smetan2706 yeah but the storyline and gameplay is the main thing for many of us when we play a game, having a game with the storyline as good as a great movie is a masterpiece experience, I remember playing the Witcher 3 for the first time, and I enjoyed it with that great story telling, and when I finished, the game feels empty. Can't say the same with people who just love the gameplay, like e-sports kinda game which makes us feel satisfied for beating out other player.
The God of War versions have more personality and recognizable designs, but I think both did a good job at representing Norse mythology (though Valhalla certainly has a more direct and conventional approach).
I genuinely really liked how Ubisoft's gods were made, I think God of War is really more into writing, they're telling a totally different story (which i really liked) while AC VALHALLA is trying to tell the story of the norse mythology as loyal as it can be
@@tirelipinponchiwawa9368 gowr is also telling the story of norse mythology, even more than valhalla, thor fighting jormungandr, jormungandr getting sent back in time, baldur being invulnerable to all threats, physical or magical, odins quest for knowledge and dying in ragnarok, angrboda and loki, thor poisoned by jormungandr's venom, brok and sindri making mjolnier, im just putting it in simple terms but gowr is closer to norse mythology than you think
@@h1gh_end134Valhalla is actually more closer to the myths cause there’s no time travel, Fenrir is the actual son of Loki and not some random wolf, Tyr losing his arm to Fenrir not garm, Odin stealing the mead from suttungr and sleeping with gunlodr, Odin sacrificing his eye in the well of mimir and not cause he saw through some crack, Odin killed by Fenrir and heimdall killed by Loki. GOW took many liberties with the story.
@@sal4731 Exactly this.
@@h1gh_end134 Jormungandr was never said to be sent back in time in the original myths, Thor kills him before taking 9 steps and dying from the venom, unlike god of war where Odin straight up kills Thor (which myth Odin would never do because he actually cared for his family). Odin was also meant to die by Fenrir and be avenged by his son Vidar, instead they just had us beat up Odin like nothing and got his soul stolen and destroyed. Yea no AC Valhalla may have been a lackluster game but atleast it’s more faithful to myth whereas god of war is its own original take on it
Thor's hammer in ac looks like a cheap weightless toy
😂😂😂😂😂
I'd like to mention that the hammer he holds might not even be the real Mjolnir, because the real one is an Isu weapon you can find as Eivor in some hidden Isu area. Though, the God of War one still looks better than the Isu/real one.
I thought it looked pretty cool tbh and at least you actually get a chance to use it which made for some really enjoyable gameplay, its a shame we didnt get the chance to in Ragnarok, hopefully it gets added in NG+ or a dlc
Yea ikr, he is moving fast with that hammer
Like if he hit someone with it, the hammer would squeak
AC valhalla asgardians just look like more of valhalla vikings then gods.
They look like the generic npc that would be killed in Ragnarok.
@@Killgore-ip2yq fucking hell your so right
True they and they do look like ncps. Still better than Gow cause they could have done way better bases off what theyve done in the greek saga. They tried too hard for me and made Odin like a Loki. I also didnt like the blk washing, it made no sense on any level was done to push the rainbow agenda
@@realamericannegro977 how exactly?
@@shadowaccount8620 why are you asking me when you know you dont agree?
Thor in AC looks like a random dude with a Hammer
Voice of Mimir in GOW just awesome
Wow GOW Ragnarok is on another level. This comparison seems like an AAA game vs B grade level game. Characters seem to have no life in them in AC while in GOW they seem to be so real. The voice over and body language in GOW is so much better.
The dialogue sounds very american, Odin in Ragnarök using words like "ex" and speaking with an american accent. AC Valhalla actually used scandnavian voice actors, plus an icelandic one for Sigurd/Týr.
@@williamkristiansen4938 okay? doesn’t make the writing any better lol. i’d rather have a variety of unfaithful accents than authentic boredom.
@@owenedward144 Its culturally insensitive in many ways. Not that I would expect more from americans.
@@williamkristiansen4938 yeah but that doesn't make valhalla better
@@williamkristiansen4938 i’m pretty sure we stopped being about “culturally insensitive” when we turned the bible into an animated series about vegetables.
The AC characters ALMOST look like they used one character model for every character. They are not as distinguishable and detailed compared to GOW Ragnarok.
Could you imagine AC Thor showing up and challenging Kratos at his house.
Kratos probably would just kill him
@@Axemcaxington kratos would reject to fight him, he has standards
The quality difference of script writing between these titles is enormous
The difference is they are different types of games. One is an open world rpg, the other is a story based linear game. If Ubisoft puts all their money into cinematics, they wont have enough money for other aspects of the game. Valhalla in general is a more ambitious game with a budget of at least $ 200 million compared of Gow Rag which only costs $44 million to make
@@brucewayne6635 ik this comment is 11 months old but no just no 1. Ubisoft a giant developer they could easily afford to have cinematics like gow. 2. Gow isn't a linear game it's an open world game with 7 different maps (tbf 3 of those are kinda small) but still. 3. Assassins creed is one of ubisoft's biggest franchises if they don't have enough money for cinematics they need a bigger budget for it. 4. It's not even about the cinematics tho it's about the fact that acting and writing are completely uninspired and dull
Valhalla had a head start on all but Freya, Loki, and Mimir, but Dad of Boy did them at least 2018% better.
Nobody would have recognized Thor without him holding the hammer, same for all others ACV characters that all looks the same. Same body, same animation, no original personality or even good design. Ain’t no way ACV had a head start on GOWR 💀
Why not compare surtur and all t he other characters that god of war chose to omit. Vahalla was way more lore accurate than gow @@Beelzebufo_ and the realms in vahalla shit on gow especially asgard
Atreus will beat the shit out of AC Loki
AC: basically NPC
GoWR: Alive
And still ac valhalla more impactful and its the best game in the world
Something about ACs Loki is that his voice actor seems to be trying to do a Scandinavian accent but his middle eastern dialect seem to skip through most of the time. Or maybe I've just been hearing Basim too much.
i'm glad i'm not the only one who notices how shit Ubisoft's voice acting talent has dropped since AC Syndicate
its like the majority of their voice talent is just reading script in these attempted 'accents' and it's horrendous.
there are ps2 games with better voice acting.
GoW: the "gods" feel like actual people with personality
AC: the "gods" feel like empty characters that were created by writers who used mythology books for reference
So AC does rely on a lot of tropes and it’s a good way of retelling who the characters are in their stories.
GOW recreates the characters to tell their own story GOW is well known for taking liberties with the lore
Mimir in GOW is one of the best characters and seeing him done so boring and serious in AC is so saddd
This is the first I've seen of the Assassin's Creed versions and all the acting and dialogue feels like ren fair performances
GoW's designs take the original lay outs of the mythology: Odin is murderous and values knowledge above all else, Freya is beautiful but stoic and powerful, Tyr is surprisingly a diplomat (being the god of war formalities), Thor being a butchering mad man who loves booze, etc. And adds layers of personalities. Being that the god of war games are effectively a mythology based fanfic with an OC main character, it makes sense it wouldn't be entirely accurate in exchange for more character.
In Norse mythology Odin is not murderous and Thor is not a butchering mad man
Many people forget that Valhalla was a Assassins Creed game first and a Norse mythology game second, so naturally there were less resources put into the Norse side
The sad part is it didn’t feel like an Assassins Creed game ether.
More like is a product first and a game second...
an AC game first? what was Assassins Creed about Valhalla? the limp-dick attempt at reintroducing 'social blend' in this game? what about the noticeably downgraded stealth mechanics? parkour reduced to climbing churches and hoping wooden fences?
and lets not forget that Eivor doesn't even become an Assassin at all in this game, gotta disagree with your take there champ.
@@thisbubblygoodness7611 bruh stfu I did not come here for whiny ubisoft fanboy bs, my only point was that the mythology was not the focus
it's not an Assassin's Creed game, it's just an AC branded product that has some components of a game
I just wish God Of War Ragnarok had more of the Gods in the story but we only see a handful. And that ending was definitely suppose to go into a 3rd game but they decided to kill Odin just to finish the Norse Mythology. It felt rushed at the end.
Why should they waste time to make 2 games set in the Norse Pantheon when they can just finish it with one?
Dear god the AC Ratatoskr is absolutely atrocious, so is Mimir tbh. Most of the AC versions feel like just more generic down grades of their GOW counterparts, with nothing that makes them stand out or unique in anyway
Gigante a diferença de qualidade, detalhes e beleza, os personagens de God Of War são muito melhores e mais marcantes. No AC, parecem NPC's genéricos.
I haven't noticed until now but almost all the male characters in ac valhalla are the same voice actor
The Thor from ACV reminds me of Gimli from The Lord of the Rings for some reason.
My brother gave me shit for liking god of war Ragnarok. Claims it’s not historically accurate and the story isn’t as good as Valhalla or Forbidden West. Then I watched this comparison and now feel pity that he can’t comprehend the masterpiece Ragnarok is - in terms of emotional weight, narrative, performance, and direction
That's because GOW was never historically accurate. It's based loosely on actual mythology. I love the story of all the games though despite not being "accurate"

crazy, that atreus takes place also in AC, never noticed that :D
What I hate on GOW is the modern American accents. But their characters are better fleshed out. AC is selling you the open world and side quests. So less time on properly fleshing out characters
GOW4(2018) and was a great success. Ubisoft, "Hey let's ride the coattails!" They haven't done anything original since many AC.
Always loved assassins creed but damn games like GoW remind me how lackluster the games really are

Assassin's Creed Thor looks disappointing.

Ratatoskr val < gow
The characters in AC feel like they were made in a character creator while the GOW ones feel like they were especially handcrafted.
I prefer AC's Odin design honestly
when you order god of war from wish
I loved Richard Schiff’s Odin, but i wish he looked more menacing like the one in AC Valhalla.
I feel like if he looks "more menacing" then it would've ruined his whole characteristic that has been estabilished since the 2018 game, he's not supposed to be a scary looking god, in fact he relies on his old, frail and somewhat friendly appearance to gain people's trust, you look at him, and you wouldn't see a cruel, ruthless and manipulative god that you would run away from, instead you'll see a soft-spoken, humorous frail old man who you would willingly help, and when you finally realize you were actually helping him burning down the world it will already too late
He’s not supposed to be menacing. It’s one his things. He makes himself look like an old man on purpose
😂 ACV Thor sounds like that crazy French soldier from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
the facial animations in odyssey were pretty solid but wtf did they do in valhalla it looks so bad
AC gods are just the ancient aliens meme. GOW gods are gods.
im sorry gow is just on another level with the realism you can feel the emotions of every character, the preformances are outstanding and and its just exactly how people talk and act. on AC on the other hand, the voice acting doesnt feel right, the movement of the lips dont match the words and the characters act like normal npc instead of human beings... dont get me wrong i was a huge fan of the assassins creed series and i liked every bit of it until odessye. i had really high hopes for valhalla and i was so disappointed, shit tone of lags, corny dialoge and repetetive gameplay. god of war has never disappointed with anything. if you disagree just reply and i will give even more examples why AC failed where every GOW game is a masterpeice

Edit: let me elaborate on what I meant
In Ancient Greece, they wrote and drew everything because they were very cultured in terms of art. But in Nordic areas, when norse gods were worshipped, they were worshipped by vikings. Vikings did not write and were not as cultured in art as Greece, so we only have a few pages of poems to understand the Norse gods, and their appearances were extremely vague. I don't know why many people are bashing Odin's character in GOW, I thought he was excecuted very well. Really enjoyed his character.
Most of the bashing is him being old lol like i don't why everyone wanted him to be a evil Kratos
They were probably wishing he was just a reskin of Zeus, I like that they went with a more manipulative antagonist obsessed with knowledge
He was incredible.
Odin in GOW felt like my shady uncle who was still enjoyable tk be around, but I had to be careful around.
Odin in GoW made me want him to be be good rather than realising he’s actually evil
I don't even think you could call this a comparison. All the AC characters look like you could make them your GTA character but Ragnarok actually has all these different characters that vary in shape and size and each one actually looks like they're a god from a realm other than Earth. Santa Monica's take on the norse gods are truly a marvel.
Only character design I like in AC Valhalla is Odins. It fits the gothic vibe he has with his Ravens and a much more sinister look.
Considering he's the same model as the male version of Eivor. That makes a lot of sense.
Coolest character in GoW was Heimdall. Shame we didn’t see him in Valhalla.
Yep we can't see Heimdall and Freyr in Valhalla.

I like God of War ragnarok Thor way better
He's way more intimidating, he doesn't need to scream at the top of his lungs like ACs version, the Man just towers over you, uses a calm voice and you just sit there in silence so you don't piss him off lmao

Oh God Tyr is horrible in AC Valhalla. He is actually a compelling and well acted character in Ragnarok especially after the ending...You know if you have beaten it lol.
Literally, a well acted character
@@basimali619 the actor really did well huh
Yeah I agree. But one thing it did right was the role. Tyr was the God of Justice which is not the case in GOW
Only Odin in Assassins Creed Valhalla somehow stands out compared to it's rest of the aesir characters. The others seem to cartoony and cliche, unimaginative and somehow looks and talks like a stage play. While GOWR fleshes out every characters and nails it
Thats because in AC:V the gods appear in a small sequence and a dlc of an already massive game, youd probably only spend about 15% of the game with them (being generous), while GOW is a single story focused on the characters with a story that revolves around only those characters. Obviously they will feel more fleshed out.
@@adamushu Exactly. Not to mention it’s really only there so you can hear the voices and see the faces of the gods and realize you’ve encountered them in the actual game (or their reincarnations rather)
I mean the Gods in AC are not gods, they are a precursor species to humans and aren't exactly like thier mythology counterpart, look no further than Juno, who is nothing like how the romans imagined her to be.
If he wasn’t holding the hammer, I wouldnt have even known he was a god, let alone Thor
I like how GoW does their own spin on Norse Mythology, making Kratos's character fit even more... and they still got Thors character more accurate than valhalla
Dear god, AC Valhalla's version seems like a high budget porn parody.
And not even a talented parody.
AC just made me appreciate GOW Ratatosker, it's character design and hilarious lines even more. Seriously, that thing is terrifying
STOP WITH THE STUPID CHIME
To be honest, I prefer AC Ratatoskr. I don't understand why there's terrifying human-squirrel-hybrid in GoW. But they both suck because the designers didn't bother to google about squirrels. Scandinavian (or even European) squirrels don't look like that. The game squirrels are clearly base on American squirrels.
@@Mystcret …
@Mystcret you need a doctor if you prefer the ac Valhalla version
Odin's design in AC Valhalla is a bit more mythologically accurate than GoW Ragnarök.
And as far as I know, Freya and Frigg are NOT the same person.
Even though GoW is not completely mythologically accurate, it's still a good story.
Odin litteraly called Freya frigg so .

The difference is they are different types of games. One is an open world rpg, the other is a story based linear game. If Ubisoft puts all their money into cinematics, they wont have enough money for other aspects of the game. Valhalla in general is a more ambitious game with a budget of at least $ 200 million compared of Gow Rag which only costs $44 million to make. Valhalla also isn't focused on gods, it is after all a viking game, the part about gods is like 5% of the game
@@brucewayne6635 Valhalla isn't focused on gods.. bro you literally play as a reincarnated Odin and spend a chunk of time in other realms. I agree Valhalla has more content but also the fact is that content is all over the place
