Mention of TM Krishna at the end, was maybe the only blemish i could think of. He is the antithesis of all that sri VVS, talked about in this wonderful demo. Great respects to sri VVS. For me, VVS = Very Very Sowkyam
Stop nonsense Mr Maxmuller. VVS excelled his duty well as ever before. Another invention of this poor guy is that Subrahmaniam hails from Kerala ! (The native place of MSG , Chembai , MDR , TNKrishnan ,Dr.NRajom ,Palakkadu Mani Ayyer and the Greats like them. The proficiency in English alone is not the criterion to adjudged one's smartness in any field. Actually, VVSubrahmanium did not make any grammatical structural or pronunciation mistake anywhere. Don"t be so flipant unnecessarily and meaninglessness picking the holes or loop holes so risky way
WHO advised or misguided VVS to give this lecdem in English in which he is not neither comfortable nor have any working knowledge. He is from a Kerala Village, Vadakkencheri and had little bit of basic education but has vast experience and knowledge on Carnatic music and have been accompanying stalwarts for over Six decades. I really empathize with him and feel sorry for that he could not do justice to the topic and bring out his vast knowledge and wisdom as he was uncomfortable throughout. If only he had been advised to speak in Tamizh, he would have really excelled in giving it in a Beautiful and Musical Palakkad Tamizh which this episode dearly missed. 🤔🙄
I am amazed at such an inane and ridiculous post by @Srinivasan AYYAR M.A. Nadyayogi and Violin Legend Sri VVS speaks excellent English and communicates brilliantly as can be seen in the above video. Sri VVS came to US in his early 20's along with Smt M.S.Subbulakshmi to perform at the UN. Later on he stayed back in US for many years and along with Maestros Sri KVN and Sri Palghat Raghu enthralled the US connoisseurs for a number of years. It will be better if one concentrates on the music and associated matters rather than rant mindlessly
@@cienu33 The taste of the pudding is in the eating and if you can't witness his struggle for words or expression, you are either visually or Audible impaired. Instead if you are the organizers, you should have had the wisdom of making him talk in his Palakkad Tamizh in which he would have excelled 10 times than this. Btw gentle man/ woman, music lectures are and must be in Local language and we are not in Western countries and people like you are the main reasons for the decay of our native language Tamizh. My dear "Peters" 🤣
@@MASADHIYA Sir Carnatic Music does not belong to Tamil Nadu alone. If the lec-dem was in Tamizh rasikas and students from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and other states and countries would not be able to appreciate and understand the facets of the music common to us all.
