ASMR, the acronym doesn't matter so let's just relax. Whatever your reason for being here, whether by accident or on purpose, welcome.
Wearing headphones, earbuds, or just playing from the speakers on your phone? Don't be afraid to experiment with the listening experience! Typically you can find me in three situations when accessing ASMR content. To stay focused while blocking out the noise, I'll wear over-ear headphones at a low volume. The carefully constructed ambiance is a welcomed blessing in this busy world, helping me get the work done. Now listen... come close... if it's the spine tickling, brain buzzing, full-body tingle effect we're after, I'm reaching for the earbuds every time. They're small and fit inside the ear, making it easy to cozy up in bed, blissfully mixing into the sounds now bouncing around my head. Lately for casual listening, I've been playing the sounds straight from the phone's built-in speaker. It's a realistic and cozy effect laying in bed with nothing in my ears and just the sound coming from the speakers. If you have surround sound speakers in your bedroom, you're on another level and don't need my advice. From super high-quality assortments or low-fi sounds that bring you into the space, it's good to see you, glad to have you here and hope you enjoy.
When dealing with a stalker never call them "my fan" or "my stalker" instead refer to them as "the stalker/stranger/weirdo". Using "My" only furthers their belief that they are a part of your life

It’s interesting how a majority of people would like for him to have remained silent about a topic that is so pressing and serious in his life, I think the main focus of this is that he is trying to bring light to the insane issue he has to deal with and it’s uncomfortable for everyone in the comments because that’s the point. Imagine your inbox being flooded with hundreds of messages from a random stranger, he is allowed to be vocal about it and set further boundaries with his audience, which are obviously needed because people don’t know how to respect others. Be kind and considerate of what others are dealing with and respect how they choose to handle the situation!

Unpopular opinion but I don’t think he should take the video down. People need to be called out on their shit and be held accountable especially when they’re acting delusional. As he mentioned in the video he needed somewhere to vent this and I believe he’s done it in a way that’s authentically PJ, like the way you’d rant it to a friend rather than a serious account. I hope it’s nothing more than a lonely girl over fan girling about a RUclipsr and realises how out of pocket the constant emailing is after seeing this.

Personally, this is deeply disturbing to the point where it was hard to get through the video. I think PJ is being too nice at the end to apologize for not responding because the parasocial delusions should not be entertained. If this person is already looking to your videos for subliminal messages it would probably be best to take this video down. But that’s just my two cents as a stranger to another stranger whose RUclips videos help me fall asleep sometimes.
It definitely makes sense, she did say she has BD(Bipolar Disorder), but nonetheless it doesn’t make it any less odd or okay to send someone messages like this practically everyday.

I actually think it's a good service to other ASMR artists to keep this video up as a warning to them...ASMR videos are truly unique, and can also be dangerous to the ASMRtist. Nobody in real life looks you in the eyes and whispers sweet nothings to them like an ASMRtist. It's truly easy to fall in love with that, but it's not real. Some people just can't get past that.
She is definitely gonna read those comments and girl YOU ARE CRAZY PLS STOP!! & you are totally not cool just saying it is not about being different or like how every mind works but there is something called respect and privacy and you definitely not having that! Just think about if this happens to you how would you feel if a random crazy person does this for years to you EXACTLY

No one has the right to harass others, regardless of their mental health issues, especially not on an ASMR channel. It's absurd.
If I were you, I would contact the email service provider and ask for their advice on handling this situation. Additionally, if I felt it was difficult to cope with this emotionally, I would consider consulting a professional.
Lastly, I'd like to share a quote from the description of a video by another favorite ASMR artist of mine: "This video does not serve as or replace any professional medical treatment. i know this video was probably posted for content, warnings, etc, but this should be taken down before she sees this because this could cause some maaaaajor problems. this is so dangerous, and if shes reading this comment right now, literally go away and get help. ur not mentally well at all. at least try to fix urself. also, pj, youre so kind and sensitive, which we love, but u should have never gave into replying or apologizing. she doesnt deserve any of it.

And like a lot of the other comments say, this video should be taken down. I’m glad you shared what you’ve been going through with this whole situation but I think you might have gotten the wrong idea on how this video would be perceived. In the nicest way possible, the girl needs help. This isn’t a healthy way of coping, I think she deeply needs someone to really talk to about these kind of thoughts and feels, not write to a stranger in this way. Wholeheartedly agree. I think he should've made a serious video talking about it without details instead of turning it into content. It was a very scary watch and this is coming from a huge fan of horror movies and scary youtube 😂

Everyone is saying he should've blocked her or not responded etc. Remember it's easy to say that in hindsight. He couldn't have known that it would escalate to this level if he had no way he would've replied. This is just a lot and creepy. It also sounds like the type of thing to cause trauma so I hope you can find a good resolution.

About the emails. You may be able to block them, and you can archive the messages from your junk/spam folder. That way your inbox will be freed up but you can still keep the paper trail of disturbing messages.
Please take care. These things can evolve into very dangerous situations. Always trust your gut, dont hesitate to reach out to authorities if you're feeling unsafe.

Hi PJ, I did just decide to listen to this video. First, I wish you didn't respond at all. I mean, we can't go back in time & I don't want to make you feel bad. But responding to her very unprofessional emails is not professional on your part.. Especially asking her advice on videos? That's asking for more trouble. You have no idea who you're really dealing with. These emails exceed the definition of creepy and flat out disgusting! It scares me how much this person knows about you, and what they may do.. Please PJ, no more messing around, you've gotta contact the police about this IMMEDIATELY! At first, I didn't love the idea of you uploading this... Now I think it's good to bring awareness! I hope you find peace & that this craziness stops for good!

I must say i kind of admire you for posting this. People like that shouldn’t be able to make their victims feel uncomfortable and unsafe without consequences.
I hope you look up how to go about situations like this in the safest way for yourself, so you don’t put yourself at risk. But please! Look up intermittent reinforcement. Don’t EVER answer anything from someone like this. Any glimmer of attention makes the stalking much worse, even if you try to be bland and boring. They still get a kick out of being seen and getting contact from you.

Respectfully you messed up making this video, the second they admitted they were bipolar and were having self-admitted delusions regarding you, you really should've blocked them and not just listen to them saying dont reply. You likely had good intentions not wanting to block them and be supportive of them but with their condition and seeing they were developing a parasocial relationship toward you it would've been best to block the person. You're just a youtuber not someone they personally know, you can't properly help them the same way people in their personal lives can.

I’d suggest looking up ‘twin flames’… the fact that this person thinks you’re theirs is really concerning. There are definitely some extreme ‘beliefs’ people can come across with this, including that someone should go to any lengths to get their twin flame to notice them or love them. People, even celebrities like Ryan Gosling have gotten restraining orders against people convinced they’re their twin flame. As someone just trying to start doing ASMR myself, this is wild.. pls stay safe and don’t take this situation too lightly!
This is a real problem that may deserve public discussion - but PJ may put himself in real real danger by putting this out.

These comments aint it. They basically just say "molly, you in dannger girl" THAT'S NOT HELPFUL! PJ needn't worry, how's that going to help. Many people online receive these types of communications. All he can do is continue to not respond. Store the emails. And he should continue to read them every once in a while in case they say something more worrying. He should reply to her one time, and one time only saying he's not intrested in having any further contact, he's not intrested in being with her or anyone, and that he won't be replying any further. Than no response. IF the emails continue and become more concerning then go to the police so they can have it on record. Nothing more he can lr should do. These comments though 🙄

It is a big deal. You have enough information to at least get the person on a watchlist. That way, the authorities will know if the person decides to jump on a flight to Canada.

I’m almost certain this person has a personality disorder (think narcissist or borderline). The best thing is to not respond to this person, and creating this video just proved to them that if they keep up the emails eventually you will talk about them. You don’t need to feel bad about anything, especially even questioning whether you should be replying to these messages and in not doing so apparently hurting them? In fact, you’re benefiting thousands of people’s lives via the ASMR you post. Please take all the steps you need to - without guilt.
