Been a Clayton fan through thick and thin. I remember the wonder year where he looked incredible to the year where it felt he’d gone missing but this tournament has warmed my heart. The ferret 121 is a thing of legend and the legend is back

We don’t know that. Phil Taylor in his prime was better then the players now.
And he did that against players who really didn’t push him.
Everybody is talking about the standard these days but the standard 7/8/9 years ago was in the top better. Just look at the statistics. And even there Taylor, not in his prime, won a lot.
The general level these days is better. But not the absolute top. People who are saying that didn’t really watch darts 8 years ago and dont read the statistics.
See this is the thing Why people who think he can remotley get 17 world titles is absolutely madness ,, to many good players he is absolutely unreal and may be the best by far to come in this generation but As world champion he has lost in every tournament so far with unbelievable avreages hes playing unreal,, but its the players around far to many good playerss, Its not that he playing bad, Standard is crazy, No way anywhere near 17 worlds

Well said. I really love what Littler has done but I’m also realistic. But that’s just another way of saying the sport is just so brilliant now. No single player will ever dominate the sport again, and that’s a good thing.
If he gets 5, that would be absolutely amazing.

Its only because it's 'possible' by the numbers, he's 17 with 1 already. He could potentially have another 33+years or so in darts and his average at the moment is 50% win rate in the wc, its 'possible' but not even remotely possible at the same time.

People don’t realise Luke littler is 18, Johnny Clayton is 50 odd - so let’s just say Luke littler has at least 30-35 years of playing unless for some reason his form drops, but for someone who has been playing since he was 2 this is unlikely. So definitely a chance he can pick up 10+ titles. 17 would be a push
The thing is mate we just have no idea what he will do. I thought van gerwen was going to get close to 8 world titles if not more with how dominant he was back in his prime, but look how he’s fallen away. I want Luke to carry darts on to the next level though it would be great for the game.

Yeah I was trying to hear the announcer but can't make it out. I can only think the display and therefore calculated finish are wrong (it even says D13 needed right at the end). Would need to see what was scored before. EDIT: A comment further down has responses suggesting the board was indeed wrong and he actually had 138.
