  • Taking my Yamaha Bolt/Yamaha XV 950R for a test ride after fitting the Booster Plug. My personal opinion and conclusion.
Another upgrade that I am extremely pleased with that has enhanced the performance of my bike.
    Thanks for watching!

I haven't yet, I generally get around 120 miles to a tank and haven't filled up again yet since fitting it, but will let you know.

@@englishboltrider1308 I usually fill up around 110 miles, but that is as soon as the fuel light comes on.
The Bolt is in for it's MOT next week and I've just had to buy a rear disc and pads, so I wouldn't be buying the Booster Plug just yet, so I would be grateful to see if it does affect the MPG. Cheers.

@@C0zyDunt So I've ridden my bolt until the light comes on and it has done the same mileage as it was before so I personally can't see that it makes any real difference, however I have only been doing local rides, the test will be in a few weeks time when I do the Bolt Riders UK Southern ride out when I ride her constantly. I hope this helps.

Hi there, I was interested in the Boosterplug because I've read/heard it makes for a smoother throttle (my bike has a bad case of fuel cut - factory setting) when accel/decel and the Boosterplug is much more cost efficient than getting an ECU flash, what is your experience after fitting the Boosterplug?

Hi there, I personally feel that it has made a lot difference to my bike, it limits the engine braking, so when you let off the throttle the bike doesn't slow down immediately and nearly buck you off. It's more gradual and eases down. I found straight away that the bike ticked over quicker and it doesn't have that feel that its going to stall, especially when you go to pull away. Without it there appeared to be a slight cold spot and lull before it picked up again. When moving in slow traffic its better too the bike doesn't jump about so much. There are a number of the members of the Bolt Riders UK group that have them fitted to their bikes and they all rate it and say that it's improved the bike and their ride. I have just come back from a ride to Northern Ireland and I covered around 610-620 miles, some of that constant riding and it never missed a beat and I never saw any increase with fuel consumption either. I hope this helps, if you are looking buy one here is a link that might help you get some discount. boosterplug.us/daveeldridge

@@englishboltrider1308 Hello, thanks for the elaborate reply. You may have convinced me to fit one! I was a little on the fenelce between the Boosterplug and getting the ECU flashed, but the Boosterplug being the cheaper route I'll go ahead and that, cheers! :)
