    Only stumbled across this artist from the movie The Edge of all we Know. When I heard the music, my head resembled the tilting of a German Shepherd's ears when it hears a certain tone. Plan = listen to All that Zöe has to offer, it could just be soul medicine that I need. Ive already shared a bunch of times. Hope it clicks with more people. Continued success, Bravo!...👏👏👏...Bravo! 🔥🇮🇪☘️💚

    Absolutely beautiful, Zoe, magic happens any time a cello is in your hands. I had to go buy every CD you've ever put out after the first song I heard you play. Your music and your skill with looping inspire me to learn more and do better with my own music. I love the way you layer everything in, right before our eyes and ears w/o us realizing it. Then, the next thing we know we are hearing a whole squad of Zoe's playing beautiful music. Thanks for sharing! Take care of you and yours, stay safe and healthy!

    Hey Zoe...it's been all too long since I've seen your beautiful countenance and back to when you had dreadlocks , performing at the "Kate" in Old Saybrook, CT. Your music has a very deep haunting tone to it, Captivating like a Siren calling out to a lost Ship in the fog...Primal roots come to mind. Okay I'm done reflecting ..Wishing you and son to 🐝💪❣️Alan

    Thanks for this. My wife and I went to London and managed to catch your show at King's place the year before this tour, with the hourly drama of your missing luggage and instrument. I always make my wife smile when I say things like "Hey...we went to that train station!" or other London scenes in movies. Such a beautiful place.

    Three or four days ago, I was reading comments on a Julia Kent video. Someone said that you should definitely listen to Zoë Keating too. I am extremely grateful to this person! I have to admit that I didn't know her at all. What a shame! She immediately entered my pantheon and I bought her entire discography on Bandcamp. I can't say enough about how much I admire this young lady's enormous talent and her music that will give me so much pleasure. Many, many thanks, great Lady and great ARTIST!

      Performed in Dallas at the Kessler Theater, which is indeed a 'tiny intimate venue'. I've seen Zoe there twice and am looking forward to a third Dallas performance. It speaks to Zoe's dedication to the intimate performance of music, rather than to maximizing ticket revenue, which she easily do in filling a larger auditorium. Thanks for your beautiful music, Zoe.

Just got introduced to this brilliant, skilled, talented musician via brainpickings / Maria Popova's article "Antidotes to Fear of Death: Astrophysicist Janna Levin Reads Astronomer and Poet Rebecca Elson’s Stunning Cosmic Salve for Our Creaturely Tremblings of Heart." Zoe was the soundtrack while Janna read the poem. I was intrigued by her music so clicked on the link in the article to Zoe's site. Then listened to more on RUclips. Love her!

    Ohhhhhhh!!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE! I would love a copy of this. Have you recorded it to sell yet? I’ve forgotten when I first learned of your music. I was immediately in love. As an artist (visual) I often dream of what could be produced to deserve your performing with it. The dream is fleeting though. When I got a regime’s dog 5 years ago I quickly learned she would be with me almost every moment of everyday. So when I would leave her on the bed to shower or do something which took a bit of time in another place in the house/yard I would turn music on for her. She chose you! My sweet mamma dog, Flower, is always soothed when she here’s you. Older and with some health issues, today is tough for her. Just started playing your music and she nearly immediately calmed. Thank you so very very much. These are just words in an attempt to describe how your art fits into our world, but truly it is impossible to wholly express the depths to which you move, affect and fill us. Thank YOU!

    Maybe it's my hard rock pedigree, but I've never been one for music that likes to build up, I always want to get into the meat of the song, I often skip intros.
    Zoë's music is a rare exception, it all works for me.

      Try Sibelius's Symphony No. 7 (listen to the whole thing before judging) and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10 (listen to at least the whole first movement - well, listen to the 2nd too, it's very contrasting, the whole symphony is amazing), and see if those also work! (Make sure you turn them up, they both start very quiet.)

      @@MarkArandjus They don't completely predate cinema, the Shostakovich especially. The Sibelius was composed in 1924, the Shostakovich in 1953. But I know what you mean: they had that epic quality without needing to be inspired by cinema. Definitely not casual listening, either one!

    • @MarkArandjus
      @MarkArandjus 3 года назад +1

      @@matthewv789 Well, they certainly sound like modern cinema! Or rather, modern cinema sounds like it, seeing how composers like Williams stood on the shoulder of composers like Holst :)

    • @matthewv789
      @matthewv789 3 года назад

      @@MarkArandjus Shostakovich actually wrote the scores to quite a number of (Soviet) films! But you're right of course, film music often sounds like earlier romantic or post-romantic "classical" music, not the other way around, just most listeners are not familiar with that music and hear the film music first.
