At 1:55:45 I like how Price ensure that the grenade launcher will hit by shooting the bird with bullet twice before the grenade launcher. Measure twice, cut once.
Man I just realized that shepherd wanted the gulag to cave in because he was trying to kill his own task force. I know it’s obvious he wants to kill them but this is the first point in the game where it’s really apparent. At 1:04:55 a jet narrowly misses them with a missile and almost crashes into their helicopter. Once soap tells shepherd to get the navy to cease fire shepherd simply says “I’ll try to buy you some time”. the gulag never stopped getting bombarded, it’s likely shepherd didnt tell them to cease fire instead continue bombing the gulag with his task force inside. The fact they made it out here made him take matters into his own hands at the end of “loose ends” when he kills ghost and roach. What a conniving bastard
At this point in the story Shepherd has no motive to kill TF141. These close calls are meant to illustrate the lengths Shepherd will go to carry out his militaristic goals, often with reckless means to justify his ends. He further demonstrates this in the final mission, sacrificing shadow company troops to escape. It isn't until Price launches the nukes from the Russian sub. After that decisive moment, Shepherd has two primary motives for eliminating TF141: 1.) Price disobeyed his direct orders and launched the nuke, in a completely risky move. 2.) In the following cutscenes, Shepherd just rolls with the nuke and plays it off as if the Russians launched it (feigning ignorance to his own task force launching it). This ends up playing into Shepherds jingoist aspirations, earning him that "blank check." At that point, it's only him and the TF141 who knows who really launched it. This is why Shepherd refers to Roach and Ghost as "one less loose end." Considering that one of the main themes in MW2 is "truth" of history being written by the victor, it makes a lot of sense that Shepherd wouldn't want his legacy as a savior/hero being tarnished by the possibility of word getting out that his own team sent a nuke to the Eastern US.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that scene was altered this go around and it hit so much harder. I don't remember Roach grabbing Shepherd's arm in the original...

In the remastered cinematic for Shepherd’s betrayal, Roach reached for Shepherd’s arm as he was taking the DSM. He was still fighting till the very end, and that shatters my heart even harder.
@@Deathmare235 Remorse is uncharacteristic of Shepherd's identity. His whole character boils down to a jingoist who aspires to become a national hero through war. He is prepared to achieve this through any means necessary. Any remorse you sensed in the OG MW2 was graphical limitation lmao.

I think cliffhanger is the best mission, you can choose your play style and it doesn’t force you out of stealth until the very end, you can literally play the entire mission undetected until the hanger, and I think more games should do this. It always sucks when a stealth mission is impossible to do stealthy because the devs think you’ll get bored, every game should have a stealth mission that you can choose to do quiet or loud, it’s what separates a bad stealth mission from a good one.

I usually dont really feel games, when something happens in a game that im supposed to go 😨😥 at i just sit there like 😐. but when shepherd betrayed roach and shot ghost (my favorite character) i felt that 😢. then the final scene where soap and price are fighting has me on the edge of my seat, seeing soap pull a knife out of him thats extremely painful to finally kill shepherd. THIS is one of the greatest scenes in gaming history. im watching MW3 next, hopefully its as good
That Nuke killed thousands of people. Just the EMP would knock out all life-support, make any plane (both sides) and anyone trying to know what's going on will have no way to access information. Plus that astronaut. Just some guy doing his job. He achieved his dream of going to space and some random explosion ended him with no warning.
As a general I think shepherd was humiliated by losing his marines to that nuke, if you pay attention to the end he doesn’t want that ever happening again
During "No Russian", does Yuri appear coming out of the elevator just as you are going up the stairs? They did something like that with Modern Warfare Remastered during the mission where you shoot off Zakhaev's arm.
After you go up the stairs, you can turn around and find Yuri having passed out after getting through the metal detectors and when aimed at it even says Yuri.
Love the game! The one thing that upsets me is more of a personal thing, I hate it when the person playing fires a couple of rounds and then reloads the clip wasting half the clip.
The whole story is still incredible. Shepherd colluding with Makarov, telling him that Allen was an American. The whole reason Shepherd then killed 141 was because there was evidence of him working with Makarov on the DSM, not because he disliked them. I mean I’d go a bit crazy if I lost 60,000 men under my charge to a nuke too
That's such a retarded way to justify the actions of an obviously evil bad guy that almost singlehandedly caused WWIII. "I mean, I'd go a bit crazy too if my art was rejected." Then again it's MW2, I'm not expecting much in the way of a remotely intelligent conversation when it comes to people that like it unironically.
@@nagger8216 Ur acting like a blind hater. All the plot points still make logical sense, it's the over the top-ness of it all compared to the first mw that people shy away from, which doesn't make it any less entertaining. Also, you completely missed the whole point of Shepard's character, which was that he valued being written in history as a war hero above everything, thus his involvement with 141 sullies that perfect image.
@@OK-mv4ih "All the plot points still make logical sense." You mean how Makarov somehow framed the US for shooting up an *international* airport, which somehow only pissed off Russia and nobody else? Sure was a good thing nobody conducted an *international* investigation about that and that only Russians were there that day. Or the fact that a known Russian terrorist on the most wanted list doesn't even cover his face. Oh but they use American weapons and don't speak Russian, so it all makes sense. Or that Makarov is killing hundreds of the same people he's supposedly fighting for. Hearing him say "For Zakhaev" as he's mowing down hundreds of Russians was honestly one of the funniest moments in the entire game. Ironically, the awful reboot did this better. It makes a lot more sense to get another country to fight your war for you than getting your own involved (Whoooa, commentary??!!1!) Or what about the fact that Shepherd sent in an American CIA operative to infiltrate a terrorist group whose whole plan is to specifically frame the US. Yeah, it makes sense for him since he wants to screw it up and start WWIII, but what about literally anybody else involved with this? Nobody ever raised an eyebrow and said "Hey, maybe we should send a British or French guy instead." or something? Allen's involvement should've already been a huge red flag to anyone with two braincells to rub together, but unsurprisingly nobody ever bothers pointing that out in the story. And let's not forget about Shepherd's brilliant 4D chess maneuver of getting more Americans killed to make up for the Americans that were already killed. Damn, maybe he and Makarov have more in common than I thought. And the whole ACS plot point is such contrived bullshit. How did that satellite get shot down over Russia and how did Shepherd know he gave the Russians enough time to crack it? What if Roach and Soap actually got there in time? Guess that whole WWIII fever dream wouldn't have happened. There's so much sheer luck and coincidence involved in that, and the game never tells us how Shepherd orchestrated it so I just have to assume the timing of the satellite being shot down and recovered by the Russians, and 'No Russian' happening like a day later was just amazing luck on Shepherd's part. Look, I love MW2, the redeeming qualities that are there are enough to redeem it, but it's a Michael Bay movie masquerading around as a video game. Pretending it's somehow better than that is just pointless.
Haven't played this game in YEARS but saw something about the new MW2 and decided to reinstall. I always loved the MW trilogy, not for its multiplayer (which was only average at best), but for its story.
Roach almost falls to his desth, soap grabs him and tilt his head literally saying walk it off. Soaps gotten as chill and cool as price has by this point.
Yeah, also from what I remember, the reaction of the Russian soldier who examines Allen's body at the end of the 'No Russian' mission is different as well. In the original, the soldier is clearly shocked, I assumed it was because he found something on Allen's body which gave him away as an American. In this remastered version, there is barely a reaction at all, if anything he just seems to check for a pulse then starts issuing orders to his men. I prefer the original reaction.

1:11:06 Prices scream for freedom is so satisfying
Keith David is still the GOAT.
Anyone else mis when they were 8-12 playing your first cod game online and be able to finish the campaign…high key tearin up lol
I think there might be the appearance of Yuri for they put in “Time Paradox” in previous remaster?
Listen carefully and U can hear Yuri while Ur in the elevator
Always loved this background sound 8:05 gave me military vibes
Captain Price - the ultimate boomer, making sure the kids don't spend time on their phones anymore
As a general I think shepherd was humiliated by losing his marines to that nuke, if you pay attention to the end he doesn’t want that ever happening again
I feel like I need a side by side comparison video. I can’t tell the difference from my memory
It definitely looks way better. It happens a lot when my memory remembers a game looking better than it is
The REAL mw2 story 🔥 🔥 🔥
The greatest FPS campaign in the history of mankind
During "No Russian", does Yuri appear coming out of the elevator just as you are going up the stairs? They did something like that with Modern Warfare Remastered during the mission where you shoot off Zakhaev's arm.
After you go up the stairs, you can turn around and find Yuri having passed out after getting through the metal detectors and when aimed at it even says Yuri.
1:09:19 one of the greatest moment in MW2.
But the scene looks like something from SFM
The game engine they used to make MW2 is just a modified Source engine lol, i see why youd think thay
Love the game! The one thing that upsets me is more of a personal thing, I hate it when the person playing fires a couple of rounds and then reloads the clip wasting half the clip.
When Ghost and Roach died in this version made me cry again
The whole story is still incredible. Shepherd colluding with Makarov, telling him that Allen was an American. The whole reason Shepherd then killed 141 was because there was evidence of him working with Makarov on the DSM, not because he disliked them.
I mean I’d go a bit crazy if I lost 60,000 men under my charge to a nuke too
"5 years ago, I lost *30,000* men in the blink of an eye."
It makes a lot more sense to get another country to fight your war for you than getting your own involved (Whoooa, commentary??!!1!)
Or what about the fact that Shepherd sent in an American CIA operative to infiltrate a terrorist group whose whole plan is to specifically frame the US.
Most Replayed part is where ghost dies. Man ;-;
Haven't played this game in YEARS but saw something about the new MW2 and decided to reinstall. I always loved the MW trilogy, not for its multiplayer (which was only average at best), but for its story.
I love when they remaster amazing video games. Now if only they could Remaster Dino Crisis 1 through 2
I love how Shepard straight up throws the Private into combat at the beginning of Team Player
They have really strong dialects in the english version. Pretty cool.
Wish they included the “doom on you Mr.tango” from the original
Roach almost falls to his desth, soap grabs him and tilt his head literally saying walk it off.
Soaps gotten as chill and cool as price has by this point.
This.. They refined the gold. Glad to see it again.
Got to love the little details they added. But Roach’s death pisses me off even more now.
Nostalgia.... Love the memories of Soap
Your Video is so cool i Like your video You are legend
How come I didn't get a notification about this yesterday?
Lance Henriksen is such a phenomenal voice actor
I’ve noticed some very small changes to this game, for example on the Washington monument one of the flags is the Soviet Union flag.
Thats cause the ultranationalist are communist.
Best COD campaign ever
The voice acting💘
1:23:30 is that plot twist, fantastic.
I liked the cool cutscene at the beginning where you see an AVLB (armored vehicle launched bridge) being used
We've got both Modern Warfare games remastered. MW3 will be up next to finish it off. I can feel it!
You mean to tell me all of this campaign took 7 days?
Lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye including Sgt. Jackson, Lt. Vasquez, and Cpt. Pelayo "Deadly"
I remember dying a lot during the climbing scene on the mission Cliffhanger
Captain Price: “Do not trust Shepherd, I say again, Do NOT trust Shepherd.”
21:14
"He's mine."
"Never mind."
Damn luv the gameplay😮
1:32:43 bookmarking this for the music
